### 2/5 — Meh

*2020-08-06, version 2.0.7*

I downloaded an exercise program purchased onto Purple Player. It took an hour to download on my Kindle and minutes to download to iPhone. So far, I haven’t had any issues with the app. One huge disappointment is that it will not allow me to use the Screen Mirroring feature, so I have to exercise looking at my phone’s or Kindle’s screen.

### 2/5 — All my videos disappeared no one responds

*2020-05-13, version 2.0.7*

Use to be good app

### 1/5 — App won’t load

*2020-04-23, version 2.0.7*

The app won’t even load. Trying on my iPhone 6. Also doesnt load any of my content on my Roku TV. Totally useless so far....

### 1/5 — Freezes and will not continue.

*2020-03-19, version 2.0.7*

I downloaded this app for some music lessons and it freezes at the same spot and will not continue, even when you try to go to another chapter.

### 1/5 — Disappointed again

*2020-02-20, version 2.0.7*

PurplePlay turns out to be a disappointment like PurplePlayer. Extraordinarily slow downloads even with relatively fast (over 25 mbps) internet speeds. The interface leaves a lot to be desired as well. Have the videos fully downloaded? Partially? Not at all? Hard to tell. And even after downloads, the middle-of-the-chapter freezes still occur with no indication of what happened. This isn’t an occasional occurrence. It’s consistently bad with this player. I truly want to like this player, and support Streamline - but I’m finding the experience continues to be miserable.

### 1/5 — Used to work - doesn’t work on iPad Pro

*2020-02-16, version 2.0.7*

This is very frustrating. The video I want to watch will only seemingly play through the PurplePlay app. It worked on my older iPad, but it will not stay loaded on the iPad Pro - it pops up, and crashes immediately. When it works, it’s great - so if/when they write a fix for this problem on iPad Pro, I’d give it a 4-STAR rating (presuming it works as well as it once did).

### 1/5 — No Streaming

*2020-02-05, version 2.0.7*

With the new iOS app Platform Purple has removed the ability to stream videos. Now in order to view a video one must download the video first. So now one must have a high capacity iOS device if you own many lessons. Support suggested using the web browser to stream the videos. Why even have an app then? Terribly disappointed and dissatisfied.

### 2/5 — Big problems!

*2019-12-29, version 2.0.7*

This app is unpredictable. I can’t login, my programs are sometimes there, sometimes not. When it does work, it great!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS and MacOS

*2019-12-21, version 2.0.7*

I’ve tried to get this to work on 3 different devices, iPad, iPhone and IMac and it just doesn’t work. Ended up downloading the videos several times which takes a very long time and then nothing. The video is download it and tapping on it does nothing. Such a waste of time a bandwidth.

### 1/5 — Consistently does not work

*2019-09-25, version 2.0.7*

This is driving me nuts. It consistently does not work

### 1/5 — Abysmal App, Terrible Customer Service

*2019-09-22, version 2.0.7*

I'm so thoroughly sick and tired of having to re-download all my videos (hundreds of dollars worth of content) every time the people at Platform Purple update their buggy app, or scrap it entirely in favor of a new one that they claim will (really and truly this time, just believe us!) correct all the problems. The only thing worse than trying to use their apps is contacting them for support. I honestly don't know whether the staffers are monumentally incompetent or just enjoy pretending to be in order to bait and mock their customers. In any case, if you have ANY OTHER way of accessing whatever content you're planning on using with this app (e.g., purchasing DVDs ), I urge you to pursue that option instead. Over the years, I've wasted countless hours and endured excruciating, health-damaging levels of stress and frustration trying to use the videos I've purchased through Platform Purple.

### 1/5 — Disaster

*2019-09-18, version 2.0.7*

This App is a colossal disaster. Hudson Music content is great and I can’t wait for them to drop this thing. If it were not for the content, this thing would not exist. Here is what I have experienced. You will download a video and get on the plane. Somewhere/ somehow you are logged off and now cannot retrieve the download without logging in. When you download a video it will be playable for a while then disappear from the player. It will sit in your memory. You will discover after a while of using this thing that you have a ton of downloaded videos (sitting in memory) but the player doesn’t seem to know they are stored. There is no obvious interface to the files. I gave up looking for them and deleted the app then reinstalled. That erased the mystery content. Hudson Music, please find another way to distribute your content. Thing thing is appalling.

### 1/5 — Buggy!

*2022-12-11, version 2.0.7*

This app is really ridden with bugs that diminish the user experience! Extremely frustrating. Almost unusable.

### 1/5 — Very unhappy with this app

*2022-09-14, version 2.0.7*

Every time I buy a lesson , it will not allow the pdf to print.
I have tried their support , what a joke, the last time I used the support was going on 48 hour age , still no answer , it like they decided to close my case.
I will never use this app again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
IT’s truly a shame, I had to use it for Homespun tapes , off this is my only option, I guess my days of dealing with Homespun are over.

### 1/5 — It’s terrible

*2022-08-14, version 2.0.7*

Pauses and disconnects after every tack. Frustrating watching any video. And you can’t download content ti play on another viewer. It’s crap. Hudson music should find a better alternative. I feel ripped off by Hudson music and this app.

### 1/5 — The worst

*2022-06-22, version 2.0.7*

Just a terrible, clunky, unresponsive interface for music lessons. I dread using it, every time.

### 1/5 — Unable to AirPlay with apple devices

*2022-06-11, version 2.0.7*

I have tried several days to try and share with smarttv. Is just not working the developers are not working on this issue.

May I make a suggestion? I have been using this app for about a year and works really well. kajabi.com/

### 1/5 — App does not work

*2021-11-20, version 2.0.7*

Firstly, the App hasn’t been updated in a long while.

For the last three weeks I’ve been trying to get this app to work. It doesn’t. Can’t access purchased content that I spent $100s on. The support page is non-existent. This app needs to be pulled from the App Store.

Platform Purple along with Rock House Method and Alfred no longer support the purchases made. Fair warning. If you can’t get the DVD, or a physical download to hard drive you’re not going to get access to what you have bought.

Complete sham.

### 1/5 — Please update the app so it actually works

*2021-03-05, version 2.0.7*

Trying to get the app to work with Apple TV and of course it doesn’t. I purchased an exercise program that uses this app and they said it works with Apple TV and it doesn’t.

### 1/5 — Worst app I’ve ever used, terrible customer service

*2021-03-05, version 2.0.7*

They were so helpful, right up until they couldn’t solve my problem (will not work with either of my Apple TV’s). Good luck if you decide to try it.

### 1/5 — Wont work at all

*2020-12-04, version 2.0.7*

It doesn’t even seem to exist, and the “support” people never respond

### 1/5 — Setting a loop to learn from is so annoying

*2020-11-15, version 2.0.7*

The player is not good. Please update. It is 2020

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App that always works

*2022-06-14, version 2.0.7*

I have been using this app for a few years now and have downloaded a couple dozen exercise videos. The download is always smooth and quick, and I never have any trouble watching the videos. I have used it from both my iPhone and iPad, and my ROKU TV has the app/channel as an option. I have also screen mirrored from my devices to my other smart TV that is not a ROKU. Not sure why there are so few reviews for this app or why they are not positive. I have had nothing but success with this app and love it.

### 5/5 — Perfect for guitar lessons

*2022-04-14, version 2.0.7*

I use this daily for working with guitar lesson videos, and have no issues at all. I purchase a lesson from one of several sites, and they automatically go to all devices with the Purple Player. I download the ones I want to use, and video and PDF are rapidly available. Like it a lot.

### 5/5 — Walk At Home

*2019-12-28, version 2.0.7*

From the reviews on here, I am getting that people use the app for different content. I use this app for my Walk At Home Daily Walk content, in addition to The Daily Walk app. Sometimes I walk at my job, and this app makes the thumbnails more visible on my iPhone. Overall, I think the Walk At Home workout program is phenomenal but all platforms need revamped. I buy the DVDs when possible.

### 5/5 — Very useful!

*2019-09-07, version 2.0.7*

Easy to use app and the loop function makes it easy to repeatedly watch the same portion! Very handy when you're learning how to play an instrument!

### 5/5 — Huge improvement!

*2019-08-14, version 2.0.7*

This is a huge improvement and I love how easy it is for my son to use!

### 3/5 — Good- But...

*2022-04-13, version 2.0.7*

I'm glad to see this app appear on the App Store. I've had the independent version for years and was often disappointed in the sometimes unconventional choices that were made in iys design. This app looks good and, because it must adhere to the App Store criteria, I expect it to function more reliably. Two complaints arise rightaway. First, the window is not expandable ny dragging as is expected in Mac apps. The only way to expand the window is to click the green button at the top to make the window full screen. Second, the prefence pane offers very, very few options. Options such as resizing or batch downloading are absent. Okay, its a new app- there's lots of room for improvement and development. I'm happy to see it show up in the App Store and look forward to seeing it improve over time.

### 3/5 — Loading ... for a loooooong time

*2019-12-30, version 2.0.7*

What is this app doing with data ?
is it trustworthy?

once loaded up, it is a simple video player.

i got this app because i bought a couple instructional videos using this specific app’s licensing.... seems there are better certification methods, but it does work.

### 2/5 — Flaky

*2021-03-16, version 2.0.7*

Pauses for no reason sometimes. Drops out of Airplay sometimes. Works okay for the slow workouts I’m using, would be awful for fast cardio.

### 2/5 — AirPlay Does Not Work

*2020-09-21, version 2.0.7*

If you purchase any content that requires using Purple Play, just know you will NOT be able to view it on your Apple TV.

Evidently AirPlay has been broken on this app FOREVER.

### 2/5 — Substantially improved interface, NOT speedy.

*2020-08-21, version 2.0.7*

So far, the new client is an improvement with one exception:
Speed of downloads. Then this happened:

“The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed, or because the format is not supported.”

This recently purchased item worked. Until it failed.
I reloaded it, then tried to launch the videos.

Seriously? I cannot even delete the file to RELOAD it!!!
