### 3/5 — Scam?

*2020-06-30*

I received an email from support. Apparently they had a bug and apologized for the problem and refunded my account and fixed the issue. I appreciate their response and owning up to the problem.

I donated and set up for meet 10 needs. So I donated to my first “story” money taken from my bank. I log in a few days later and the app says you haven’t met anyone’s needs yet please help. It keeps asking for money!!!!

### 4/5 — Love the purpose of this organization. Apps crashing

*2020-04-24*

I’ve been using this app for a year and it’s been fantastic.

Recently after updating the App crashes at start up. It’s totally unusable for me at the moment. Deleted and re-downloaded, still no luck. IPhoneX running latest IOS

### 4/5 — Love this!

*2020-04-23*

The app bad mission are great! I love the idea of community and individuals coming together to make a real needed difference. The only reason this isn’t five stars is the buggy app. The organizations I follow don’t show up so it makes it hard at times to discover needs. Otherwise fantastic work.

### 3/5 — Stuck at forgot password screen

*2018-11-27, version 1.0.1*

Love the idea. I opened app and tried my password. After realizing that I could not remember my password, I am not stuck on the screen for forgotten password. I can’t go back or advance. Help?

### 5/5 — Easy Button

*2018-11-20, version 1.0*

Very awesome! Like an easy button for helping your neighbor!

### 5/5 — Doing good is so easy

*2018-11-20*

It is important for me to help others in our city. This app is the easiest way to know my gift is going to a neighbor who needs the support now (not eventually). The app gives me control of where I can be generous. Makes me feel good to know that with a few clicks I can make a big impact with a modest amount of money.

### 5/5 — Connection & Purpose—well done!

*2018-11-20*

Purposity has allowed me to give back to my community and feel connected the people that I’m able to share with. And now, the app makes it even easier than ever! Thank you, Purposity!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2018-11-20*

Super streamlined way to help out people. You know exactly what you’re purchasing, why and where it’s going. Plus, I love that needs come directly from nonprofits I know in Denver working with people.

### 5/5 — So good!

*2018-11-20*

Purposity is one of those ideas that you hear about and you either think “wow why didn’t I think of that?” Or “that will never work”. And then you log in and see that your community has met more than 1000 needs for real people in your area using an app and you become a believer.

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2018-11-20, version 1.0*

This is an amazing idea! I love everything about this!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-04-23, version 1.1.16*

Couldn’t connect to my network but my network was perfectly fine and working for all other apps. Also tried it on LTE didn’t work. Please fix really want to use this app it’s a great idea if it worked

### 1/5 — Will not connect

*2020-04-23, version 1.1.16*

I was looking forward to trying to do something nice for someone which would in turn make me feel better knowing I did something.

The app will not connect and telling me to try again.

### 1/5 — App keeps shutting down when I try to open it

*2019-11-05, version 1.1.4*

I can’t even open it to get help because it closes as soon as it opens

### 1/5 — Great idea but

*2019-03-08, version 1.0.7*

Tried to use this app to support my local school district but every time I filter the city it shows me cities that aren’t even close to me... and there is NO way to submit a question through the app or contact them.

### 2/5 — Looked so promising

*2023-05-04*

I was so excited to hear about this app given the story behind it and the potential to make such a big difference. However, the app has a lot of flaws - a large one being that there are two payment methods as options on the screen to donate for each cause and one of them is never actually accepted (Apple Pay). I’ve reached out through their website to try to ask if this and other specific glitches will be fixed, but never heard back. So disappointing since this is something I was hoping my whole company could get behind.

### 2/5 — Great Causes, Prompt Support, Terrible UI

*2023-02-12*

I have given plenty of needs and think this is the premier idea for a direct relief application in the modern era. Anytime there is an issue with functionality, the team responds promptly. That being said it lacks significantly in user experience. Frequently the application freezes, force quotes, or simply cannot execute when meeting a need. It has the option for Apple Pay, but when selecting it says that the functionality is not supported. It took months for team needs to accurately reflect nets met and monetary value contributed, but I cannot reliably confirm it updates as when I can contribute to a team, it does not appear to update in real time. Once these bugs are resolved it could be transformative in direct relief and I can imagine it transforming from just direct relief to subscription based giving for ongoing empowerment and sustaining contributions to great causes.

### 2/5 — Reviews

*2022-12-14, version 1.4.0*

Need to update reviews to more current dates so you can see how people feel about this app TODAY.

### 2/5 — Great idea, poor execution

*2020-04-24, version 1.1.16*

App crashes when I try to view messages. Can’t view needs of local organizations. The organization I was following yesterday no longer appears in my list. This app needs help.

### 2/5 — Needs Work

*2019-04-19*

There is no way to control credit card data that the app captures and stores. There should be a permission tab like most other apps have. Contact/Feedback is impossible through the “whiteboard”. No one ever answers questions.

Also, the cost associated with listed needs seem high and the items requested are sometimes vague. Doesn’t seem to be a lot of transparency. It seems direct giving is a better way to go.

### 3/5 — Make the “Optional” donation button darker

*2020-11-19*

I love this app and love helping out. I’m also glad that I can now donate to Purposity to help them continue. What I don’t like is how the “optional” donation button is already set at 15% and is a very slight shade different from the other options, so you can barely tell what’s selected. It almost seems like it was designed that way, which is unfortunate coming from a charity organization. These tactics have no place for a charity organization. Hopefully, this was done unintentionally.

### 5/5 — Help

*2020-04-23, version 1.1.16*

I am SO HAPPY to find this. I’ve been wanting something like this for some time now.

It won’t let me sign up- letting me there is a network issue. How can I resolve that?

### 5/5 — Idea

*2020-02-07*

This would be great if you could design this with veteran needs in mind . So many veterans need help with a variety of things and most are too proud to ask, but if others could get the word out we could repay them for their sacrifices !! Would this be a direction this app could take ?

### 5/5 — Makes helping someone easy and convenient

*2020-02-03*

I love this app! It connects me with a list of folks and their specific needs, making donating a breeze. Today, I won a Super Bowl pool. I popped open the app and was able to share my good fortune with several others. I’m a sucker for kids in need of books or clothes but also enjoy helping fill a new home with cooking utensils or bedding.

### 5/5 — App works perfectly

*2020-01-21, version 1.1.7*

Jumped on picked a local organization and donated. Very simple process with pragmatic format. Definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — Love using this app

*2019-08-22, version 1.1.1*

It is an an invaluable tool. This app notifies me as soon as I need arises in our community.

### 5/5 — Epic - makes it so easy to make a positive change

*2019-06-09*

Often I’m left unsure how I can help people around me without going out in the night and finding homeless people to give to.
This app made it easy to give and make a difference by showing me genuine need in my community.
Great initiative.
Using social for good!

### 5/5 — Simple way to make a difference

*2018-11-29*

I love the idea behind Purposity, so I was excited to see that the app is now available. Signing up was super easy and it was simple to browse the current needs in my area. I look forward to using this platform as a way to help others in my community and I can’t wait to share it with my friends.

### 5/5 — Changing The World!!

*2018-11-22*

It has been tremendously exciting to see the difference that is happening within the state of Idaho. Purposity is the tool that has provided the ability for members in the community to be aware of local student needs. This application is community engagement and as an Idaho State Department of Education representative, I cannot recommend Purposity enough to school districts and communities throughout the country. It is an honor and a privilege to work with Dr. Jamie Rife! I look forward to meeting all our future community engagement goals with Purposity!!

### 5/5 — Restoring Optimism

*2018-11-21*

The transparency of knowing what and where your donation is going is game changing. But Purposity when another level by partnering with agencies and school systems to verify that the way to help those in need will actually HELP! Wow! Not to mention then reading the follow up story after is a beautiful way to restore optimism in the lives of all humans. This truly is a new way to be generous in our generation.

### 5/5 — Strategic giving at its best!

*2018-11-20, version 1.0.1*

We all want to make an impact and now its never been easier thanks to Purposity. Know exactly where your donation is going and make an immediate difference in someone’s life!
