They allow you to get some things with "gold" that you find but it is difficult to get and by level 20, you need to buy 3 bombs just to get to the start to play. Add to that the fact that I think you also have to pay for extended life as well just to start the level. This last update said they made some things easier but, in my opinion, they made matching groups of blocks even farther apart with energy and gold blocks impossible to match even if you find them. Don't waste your time and for sure, don't waste your money! ### 1/5 — Warning!! With that said they offer an option of unlimited lives for $4.99. Guess what, you still die and have to start over. And if you want to continue where you left off...its $.99 to reincarnate yourself. Not sure what the point of me purchasing unlimited lives was. The design is superb, the graphics are great, the challenge is there... what more can you ask for in a freemium game? You can even get through the entire game without spending any money, which is an amazing thing. Paying for the unlimited lives is worth it just to give the developers some appreciation. The ONLY complaint is that they have never continued the game beyond level 80. Still, the 80 levels are enough to keep you busy. Highly recommend.
