### 1/5 — Pw

*2017-10-29*

Is this the same (upgraded) app as the “PW “ before ? If it is, then this would be a total failure !

### 5/5 — Simple but effective

*2016-03-25, version 1.5*

I started using it with my old password to create newer stronger passwords. Means I don't have worry about remembering a unique password for each app I have.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2016-03-15, version 1.5*

Great app! Finally a service I can trust to keep my passwords safe.

### 5/5 — Simple app for the complex world of password management!

*2015-04-17, version 1.0*

I'm always forgetting my ever-growing list of passwords, and I find it frustrating to remember them all. This app provides a quick solution to my password management - saving me time and Hassel but at the same time providing me with very secure unique passwords. Simple interface which is easy to use - sweet!

### 5/5 — What an idea!

*2015-04-11, version 1.0*

Such a great idea, this has changed the way I compute long and complex passwords, who would have though that technology could provide such an easy way to protect my stuff. Would like to thank the developer for creating this, it has changed my (password creating) life.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-11

Important: PW now ignores spaces in service names to match the Mac and web apps. This changes the generated password for any service name that previously contained spaces.

This update also fixes a password-input issue that could affect generated results while editing, makes the special-* copy action work correctly, copies the raw generated password, keeps copied passwords on this device instead of Universal Clipboard, keeps V1 results visible for listed services, and makes Return dismiss the keyboard reliably.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-03-16

V2 is here! PW now supports SHA256 hashing alongside the original SHA1, generating stronger passwords with special characters, numbers and uppercase letters built in — satisfying the requirements of even the fussiest services.

- Switch between V1 and V2 with a single click
- Emoji visual cue to quickly verify your output
- Various bug fixes and improvements

### 1.9.1 — 2020-03-18

So it's been a while but after several years of testing it's better to just display the 15 character option all the time, a bit like www.pwapp.io. So that's what we've done.

Some performance updates as well from upgrading to latest Swift and changing the build process.

### 1.9 — 2017-03-29

"But when you realize, its awkward, your name still my password” - Tyler, The Creator

- Added in new functionality for sites that require a special character, like a *. So if you type in Zendesk you will see a new option to add a * to the end of the password. Let me know if you would like me to add new sites.
- Added in some new services/websites that require a 15 character password, including WeChat.

We're seeing some fantastic growth so thank you for spreading the word!

### 1.8 — 2017-03-01

"Momma ain't raised no fool
Put me anywhere on God's green earth, I'll triple my worth" - Jay-Z

We’ve added in support for multitasking apps on iPads.
Expanded the list of services that require a password to be 15 characters or less. Please let me know if you would like more services to be added to the list.
Also:
- Updated to the latest swift and libraries.
- A few little UI tweaks as well.
