## What is PWS weather station monitor?

Intuitive and powerful, PWS Connect is the personal weather station app designed by weather aficionados for weather aficionados. It's the only PWS app that lets weather station owners automatically and continuously keep track of station conditions and get notified of changing conditions based on individual preferences.

And if you don't have your own weather station, you can monitor any of the thousands of weather stations in the global network of NOAA/ICAO stations.

PWS Connect displays weather station data for up to the past 7 days this is continuously updated in the background. No more having to open an app to see what's happening with your station! The app displays trends for barometric pressure, temperature, wind, and humidity with beautiful, informative, and fully interactive graphs on your iPhone and Apple Watch. PWS Connect provides notifications and alerts for conditions such as high and low temperatures, pressure changes, and precipitation. PWS Connect supports iPhone widgets and all Watch complication styles to keep you up to date on weather conditions at a glance, and currently supports Weather Underground, Davis WeatherLink, Ambient Weather, Xweather, and  NOAA/ICAO weather station networks.

This app even has a forecast feature that shows you the forecast from the NOAA/ICAO forecasting station closest to the station currently being monitored. These are the same forecasts that pilots across the world use to fly safely.

PWS Connect also has a powerful history features that takes daily snapshots of weather station data which the app stores securely in iCloud. In the History screen, you can swipe left and right to go backwards and forwards through time through a continuous graph of previously saved weather snapshots stretching back weeks, months, and years, and you can explore any day in detail. In short, you can make your past weather station data come alive!

The app's optional Premium Features subscription option also gives you full access to the app’s Watch functionality, widget, and notification features.

A very good app to monitor your home weather station. My main need was to be able to monitor from my Apple Watch and it does the trick! The notifications are a plus too. The important part of any product is the customer support and I had a minor problem in the first week and it was solved quickly! The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5th star is I wish the auto update/refresh was more frequent (like 5-10 mins instead of 15-25 mins). That said, I recommend this app! :)

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. Sigh…I love it when the app gets the blame. So...the background refresh rate is controlled by iOS/WatchOS. As a former OS developer, I have done everything in my power to have my app update as close to the theoretical maximum allowed by iOS/WatchOS which is 3-4 background updates per hour (every 15-20 minutes). Background updates at 5=10 minute intervals are technically not possible and not allowed. And then, there's the issue of how often background updates can be displayed in a widget or Watch complication. The maximum allowed widget update rate is 70 updates per day which works out to a maximum average of one update every 34 minutes. But again, it’s up to the OS - not the app- to decide when to update. Getting background updates to work at all is not easy which is why there are no other PWS apps that even try. But please don't dock me a star when I've done everything in my power to mitigate the limitations  imposed on my app by policies over which I have no control. The fact that you’re getting regular updates is a minor miracle. If you would like to provide some feedback regarding background update policies, you may consider the source. I downloaded the App and went premium and put the nearest station to me which was 4 miles away! I tried to put it on my Iwatch and even turned my iPhone and Iwatch on and off 2 times but my Iwatch kept saying I had not subscribed. I am uninstalling the app after this message as it does not work. 🤬🤬🤬

I respond to all of my question/support email and do special beta version to work through any issues that may require core changes. I provide this app for my own use and for the enjoyment of others in the weather station community.
