### 4/5 — Nice platform for learning, testing

*2021-02-15, version 3.1*

The series of code editors from these folks make nice trainers, take note however, none of them uses the current version of any language they have and each version requires a separate purchase. I was looking for Python 3.9, found they have four versions for sale and 3.3 was the newest. It does run code and has a results window. The UI is a bit crowded as received but once you learn to close the Windows you’re not using the space is acceptable, even down to my 9.7" iPad. I haven’t really tried it on my iPhone yet, but not sure it’s a great strategy planning on using a phone without assistance. Of course if you attach a keyboard to your phone and cast the screen, then it can be whatever you want. The interpreted languages run pretty well. I only run complied languages on lPad Pro or the compiling can be pretty slow.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 很鸡肋

*2017-01-28*

很鸡肋很鸡肋很鸡肋很鸡肋很鸡肋很鸡肋

### 1/5 — not nice

*2014-10-26, version 1.9*

when you buy the app you don't get full functionally until you rate it 5 stars...ok app, but it seems wrong to extort customers who have already paid for an app or a bundle

### 1/5 — Bad and dishonest

*2014-10-13, version 1.9*

As far as I could tell, there is no interactive mode, it weirdly autocompletes inappropriate stuff, and its completely unintuitive. There might be options to fix this, but I wouldn't know because it forces you to give a 5 star review to unlock features! Such as the 'execute' button to run your code!

### 3/5 — quotation mark not working

*2017-10-15*

My iPad is iPad pro 12inch. When I print some String value for example print(“test”) using keyboard, it’s not working as saying “Syntax error: invalid character in identifier”. Please fix it!

### 3/5 — Hä?

*2017-06-27*

### 3/5 — Good app - Don't beg for likes though.

*2017-05-26, version 2.7*

I would have actually given this 5 stars, but I hate apps begging for likes. In fact, I think Apple should caution and then ban app makers who do this.

I paid for the full app, as I do want to learn Python, and I was sufficiently impressed by the layout of the trial app. Not sure I liked the idea of spending coins to activate certain features in the trial version though. At £2.99, it isn't overly expensive.

Code completion works nicely although working on the iPad positioning the cursor correctly can be fiddly. This is more a limitation caused by the device though.

### 3/5 — Keeps bugging me to give more money

*2016-02-16*

Runs Python but looks sketchy and asks for stuff like leave me a review or buy gold coins.
It does run python.

### 3/5 — Solid python 3 interpreter but user interface is buggy

*2014-05-21, version 1.6*

You can get some real work done with this app. Its python 3 implementation works as advertised. However, there are bugs which make it difficult to use. None are insurmountable and I have never seen the app crash so far. So 3 stars I think is fair.

To the developer:

Bugs in order from most to least severe:
1. When you change one module, the module which imports it often doesn't see the changes. I have to unload the app and run it again.
2. The My Code view sometimes gets stuck in a subdirectory. It might be best to add an "Up" button to reach the parent directory. The "Back" button isn't always enough.
3. Tabs sometimes get converted to spaces in the editor. I like tabs better, and it's dangerous to have a mix of the two in python.
4. Auto-indent is buggy. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't.
5. Auto-complete is a problem at the end of a line. Sometimes I don't want to auto-complete but when I hit return, it does it anyway.

Feature request:
1. Would it be possible to add iTunes file sharing support to make it easier to manage files from a computer?
2. Some network functionality (e.g. read a web page from within a script) would be useful.
3. A simple graphics module?
4. A way to disable the Execute sound. :)

Over all, I think this app has potential and I would like to see it improve and mature.

### 4/5 — PYTHON3$

*2025-03-05, version 4.8*

Very user friendly easy to navigate through and stable platform I like the themes also

### 4/5 — Nice platform for learning, testing

### 5/5 — Python3$

*2026-05-11*

Good stuff! Took a little while to understand the layout but once done it performs nicely. I have a couple of other python programmes but keep coming back to this one mainly because of the width and depth of practice items

### 5/5 — why use…

*2026-04-17*

Excellent app! Well made and easy to use. I use it on my iPhone 16 to test algorithms and ideas.

### 5/5 — 运行有上限

代码是不是最多运行80行啊

**Developer response:** 您那有代码超过80行不能运行？非常希望收到您的回复，微信或QQ：1301367159。我们一定及时解决您的问题。

### 5/5 — Building my own ADA compliant research and study web app

*2025-10-16*

I was at the point where I was trying to install the infamous pynacl as I had come to find out his past 48 hours. Being retired network engineer I no longer have my bells and whistles spent too much time working with my own. All I got is a updated iPhone and it updated iPad for what you know if you’re using Alpine or some other iOS terminal you ain’t getting that installed and I tried everything and I am good at research. I tried everything then I stumbled onto this app, but it wasn’t First. Pythonista was the first that I didn’t wanna pay $10. So I found this one now it may not look as polished aesthetically don’t let that fool you according to Microsoft copilot this app has more more. It’s basically Linux environment on an iPhone why this is it more popular I have no idea I literally have no idea. Technologically this is incredible our artistically it’s amazing. He’s only charging four dollars for the full version. And two dollars for the manager version which still has more Pythonista it just doesn’t look as pretty but that’s OK Americans because we’re changing and we’re realizing that looking pretty and being functional are not mutually exclusive. I can do everything that I needed because of all the proprietary coding and architecture that I am devices that I have to make this app with his app and I’m glad I found it. It was well worth four dollars on my credit card I did buy Pythonista but only for the very few things Python3$ may not do or may struggle with. Other than that, it will be my main app for Python work. My project would be done and over and I am done with phase 1 and two and have three more faces to go and I’m in the middle of the third phase of the development and I have five more months to to go and this is a personal project for me. It would’ve stopped now if you continue and even be completed and I know that so I really appreciate the person who made this app and knew he could charge 3040 even $99 a pop they’re up here cause that much and have nowhere near as much as this one does. I have searched.

*2020-04-19*

Been working with this version of python 3 for at least a couple of years. I have no complaints. The only thing I didn't like was the nags. Even those aren't that bad. I just bought the full version. Even better. No nagging.

### 5/5 — Great Python app!

This app is super fun, I like how the code demos are embedded in the documentation. I play with it during breaks at work all the time.
