### 2/5 — Fix the login

*2026-06-04, version 14.0*

Since the new update that requires new credentials, I may have to log in to each iPad two ways and also randomly wait for an auth code. It is unnecessary, cumbersome, and problematic when working with energetic little ones. The connectivity glitches seem to be less frequent, but please remedy this login process.

### 1/5 — Worst sign in and support ever

*2026-06-04, version 14.0*

Would love to be able to sign in and use this app with patients but it’s not intuitive or easy. I’m going back to paper and pencil. The level of corporate incompetence is befuddling over at Pearson given the highway robbery of price gauging they engage in.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2026-05-28, version 14.0*

Expect repetitive logins, test loading failures and client device disconnections. When testing, it makes you feel unprofessional as you’re forced to defer to a faulty app’s whims of connectivity.

How can a company which seems to trade upon its professional standing and using slogan including “always learning” or “made simple’ justify releasing an ongoingly buggy dumpster fire?

### 1/5 — Completely unreliable

*2026-05-08, version 14.0*

To use this software, I had to buy >$500 of test papers that I will never use. Since then, I have had three assessments, and the app worked only 1/3 times. Currently impossible to log in to Q-interactive through the app, and Pearson support keeps pasting irrelevant suggestions in the help chat

### 2/5 — Glitches too much

*2026-05-04, version 14.0*

Glitches on the KTEA cause delays in testing and report writing. One iPad stops communicating with the other iPad, or won’t upload to the desktop to write the report.

### 2/5 — Getting Worse

*2026-04-27, version 14.0*

I really liked the app when I started using it. In recent history it has become buggy as to almost be unusable.

### 1/5 — This app does not work I tried everything

*2026-04-22, version 14.0*

I tried everything to get it to work, it used to work but now it is a total disaster and completely unreliable. I’m tech savvy but this is so awful.

Such a shame and what a frustrating experience. The phone support is never helpful

### 1/5 — Constantly disconnecting from clients device since update

*2026-04-16, version 14.0*

As in title - the latest update seems to be buggy. Assessment session completely ruined by devices constantly disconnecting during subtests. Probably disconnected 30 times. Completely unsuitable.

### 1/5 — terrible product

*2026-04-09, version 14.0*

this is a terrible product, especially considering the obscene price. The login process alone is insufferable and unreliable.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-03, version 14.0*

This app is so glitchy. Unreliable. Sometimes works, sometimes I can’t even sign in. I’ve had to cancel testing days because the app won’t start, and had to cancel sub tests because the app suddenly goes blank. These issues should have been resolved before going live!

### 2/5 — Difficulty signing in

*2026-03-30, version 13.0*

It takes several attempts to sign in. It wastes time and is frustrating.

### 1/5 — New release is a hot mess

*2025-11-25, version 12.0*

Breakdowns in communication between iPads, inexplicable blank screens, freezes during timed subtests, wonky editing glitches. Whatever shortcomings the first build had pale in comparison to the poorly tested, buggy mess they’re pushing out now.

### 2/5 — Gotten worse

*2025-11-04, version 12.0*

I have used this app for a while. When it works it is okay, though clunky as an app. It does make testing easier. However, of late it has had numerous problems with signing in. I’ve had to delete it and start over (and yes, that means all of my old assessments on the iPad are lost though I always back up). I have the latest iPad Air so hardware is not an excuse. Come on Pearson, given how much money you make off of us, you could get this right.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-07-23, version 11.0*

If I didn’t need this for work I would never use this app. It crashes, it fails to log in. And the customer service department is the worst!

### 2/5 — Good when working properly

*2025-07-14, version 9.0*

The app is great when working as it should, but I frequently have issues with it (multiple and varied) that occur as the assessment is about to happen or during, making it unreliable. I travel to do assessments so maybe it doesn’t cope well with changes in internet access, although it says that that is not required (just Bluetooth and the assessment set up beforehand). You still have to pay for subtest usage when they have had to be abandoned due to app errors. I would love a reliable app that does the same thing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poorly designed and doesn’t work

*2026-08-25, version 16.0*

The technology is horrible and doesn’t work. The job of a test maker is to support and make the assessor’s life easy. This one does not. Very disappointed as I’ve been a DKEFS user since its inception and an assessor for over 30 years. I will not use this poorly designed and lack of user friendly mode of assessing. Take it back to the lab.

### 1/5 — Obtuse login

*2026-08-24, version 16.0*

Enough. It’s been months of these idiotic login changes. I am logged out repeatedly and login requires stages. Whomever is responsible for this is failing. Fire them. Not a joke. They have had months to correct the problem. Fire them now. Or maybe it’s time to find an alternative…

### 1/5 — sign in

*2026-08-21, version 16.0*

horrible. i have to sign in repeatedly throughout the day, usually a minimum of 12 times. It is embarrassing in front of my clients, and is not smooth

### 1/5 — Extremely frustrating

*2026-08-09, version 15.0*

Signing in takes way too long and makes me seem unprofessional.

### 1/5 — Won’t work since update

*2026-07-31, version 15.0*

I updated the app and now the client device won’t open. So frustrating!!

### 1/5 — I’d like to give it a zero

*2026-07-20, version 15.0*

It use to work but now it doesn’t. This means professional embarrassment as I was half way through an assessment when the “upgrade” occurred and I have not been able to finish the child’s assessment. I’m spending hundreds of dollars for a service I can’t access. And tech support is problematic, long wait times to talk to someone overseas with varying skills sets. I’m not sure what to do as someone who has used the Celf for over 25 years who likes the test but can’t afford to pay for something so unreliable. I have thought about buying the paper form but feel an updated version may be on the horizon ( had to bin my CELF4 and CELFP a while ago). It might be time to change my assessment tools. Pearson please make an app that is more user friendly. I know some people may be able to problem solve the glitches but there are others of us who are good clinicians but only ok at IT. After years of loyalty you are going to loose as customers. You may not care as we are getting close to retirement but remember we are the ones mentoring and up skilling the younger professionals. Many of who are using different assessments which I do not feel are as robust or comprehensive. It’s hard to continue to advocate for Pearson test when accessing them is so difficult. So I’ve lost money, time and calm due to the ongoing issues trying to access this app. I’d love to be finically compensated but at the very least I’d like to be paying for something that works.

### 1/5 — Frustrating, inefficient, and expensive

*2026-06-26, version 15.0*

I’ve been using Pearson products for more than a decade now, especially Q Interactive. With each update or change it only gets more and more frustrating, inefficient, and expensive. If Pearson did not have such a monopoly on these products I would jump ship.

### 1/5 — sign in

*2026-06-22, version 15.0*

horrible. i have to sign in repeatedly throughout the day, usually a minimum of 12 times. It is embarrassing in front of my clients, and is not smooth

### 1/5 — No no no no no

*2026-06-16, version 15.0*

Run away from Pearson and this train wreck of an app.

### 1/5 — login hassle

*2026-06-10, version 15.0*

Now requires multiple logins before opening, which is inefficient and irritating.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — life saver

*2025-09-17, version 11.0*

Occasional tech issues will happen any time you use technology, but q-i saves sooooooo much time and hassle overall.

### 5/5 — Assessor

*2025-08-07, version 11.0*

This App works great 99 percent of the time. I have had a very rare glitch in years of working with it which causes big issues as clients are in the waiting room and it’s not working. This is VERY rare. Every few months I have to reboot it during an assessment with a client but never are the issues significant and I’ve been using it so long that it’s second nature to me now. I always have “other” non Q-I tools nearby so that I can have them completing a form or doing the BGT while I’m reloading something on the Q (just in case). I am a fan of this though the costs have gone up a lot over time (e.g. per subtest).

### 4/5 — 4.5 Stars

*2025-11-09, version 12.0*

Great app with few problems. Once in a while I will start a test and want to back out of it to change the test I want to administer. This is not allowed and so sometimes I have to pay for a test that I really did not administer.

### 4/5 — Evolution is expected

*2024-11-19, version 9.0*

A lot of review complaining that it’s not the “old” way anymore, need to get on board with the times which is evolving technology! Sure there are some bugs from time to time, but overall the move for us has been positive. The set out if simple and fresh. Have had basically nil issues with second iPad connection. The scoring and results takes some getting used to, but that’s all it is. Dealing with the new change. Pretty happy with it, but like everything technological, I welcome the updates and bug fixes.

### 4/5 — Works well, but leaves a huge footprint

*2024-02-29, version 5.0*

It looks like I’ve been fortunate to have had a positive experience with the new Q-interactive app so far. Testing has worked exactly as expected, and the smoothness of writing notes has dramatically improved over the original version. One gripe I have is with the amount of space it requires (which has always been an issue). Especially if you’re using an iPad with only 32gb of storage, you might find everything to start moving very sluggishly, as the app can take up around 4gb once everything is downloaded and updated. It would be nice to be able to lighten the load by removing data for tests that you’ll never personally use.

### 4/5 — glitchy, but good!

*2024-02-20, version 5.0*

I find it interesting that people are struggling with the app. I love the functionality of it and the ease of testing. There are ways to skip subtests without going through the entire test and pay for it, you just have to know the basics. I am also able to go back and change answers after the student is done testing. However, it is not easy to find and can be cumbersome to figure it out. One issue I am running into are glitches. When a student clicks an answer, sometimes the ipad does not respond. The feedback can be slow.

Overall, its a good functional app but needs some improvement to fix the glitches and easier menu layout to change answers. I think psychs will need to be fairly tech savvy to use this app with ease.

### 3/5 — sign in problems

*2026-07-17, version 15.0*

The sign platform is horrible because older versions have not been removed from the internet. I hate signing and then getting redirected to another platform that has a two prong sign in.

### 3/5 — Need improvement… slow evolution

*2024-11-13, version 8.0*

Several bugs still present many months/years after been reported (eg delayed recall cvlt scaled scores not shown after test). User interface need improvements (menu hidding text). Need more french translations of available tests. No Touch/face ID is hard to understand in 2024 : lots of time wasted entering user and password every 10 min or so for both iPad…

### 3/5 — Works most of the time but when it does not, it differs from standardization.

*2024-05-08, version 6.0.1*

I used the old Q-interactive assess app and this new one. Up until the most recent updates were released, I found that the app worked smoothly. It’s a great time saver when the app works. However, within the past couple of months (April-May) there are times where there have been connection issues and the student iPad suddenly goes to a blank screen including during timed tests. The examiner iPad at times will notify me that the iPads are connected and disconnected frequently, like every few seconds. Unfortunately, I have had to write, “The student’s scores may not be the best representation of the child’s ability because of technical issues,” or something to that effect in my reports. I hope that the IT team at Pearson can come up with a solution to these issues soon. I know that these issues started occurring when apple made changes that affected compatibility.

### 2/5 — Ready for the quality to match the hype

*2026-06-15, version 15.0*

But, the rollout of the new login system yet again makes this platform more of a hassle than it should be.
