## What is Qamari?

A calendar that treats the Hijri date as the primary one, with the Gregorian date always alongside it.

■ Hijri first
Month and week views show the Hijri date large and the Gregorian date beneath it. Swap which one leads with a single tap. The day the secondary month rolls over is labelled, so you never lose the boundary.

■ Reminders that repeat by the Hijri calendar
Repeat every Hijri year, every Hijri month, on a specific Hijri date, or weekly. A lunar year comes around exactly once a year, which a Gregorian calendar cannot express.

■ Sighting adjustment
Calculated calendars and your local moon sighting announcement can differ by a day or two. Set the offset your area announced and every reminder you have saved follows automatically. Per-month overrides are supported, and every override you set is listed so you can review or clear it.

■ Date converter
Convert between Hijri and Gregorian in both directions. Measure the number of days between two dates, and see an age counted in lunar years. Copy both dates at once.

■ Islamic occasions
Add the main occasions to your calendar. Multi-day ones such as Eid and the Days of Tashriq are shown across their whole span. Dates and names vary by region and school of thought, so you choose only the ones you follow. No interpretation is asserted.

■ Fasting days
The White Days (13th, 14th, 15th of every Hijri month), Mondays and Thursdays, and six days in Shawwal.

■ Match your region
Presets for Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Türkiye, Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan. The first day of the week and the weekend (Fri-Sat, Sat-Sun or Friday only) can be changed in settings.

■ Also included
- The moon phase, which follows your sighting adjustment
- Share a date or an occasion as an image
- Choose the reminder time, with per-reminder overrides
- Widgets (today's Hijri date / next occasion)
- Run from Shortcuts, Siri and Apple Watch
- Export (.ics file, or add to your calendar with Gregorian dates)
- Type a date in your own words and fill in the form (processed on your device)
- Umm al-Qura, Civil and Tabular calculation methods
- Arabic-Indic and Western numerals
- iPhone and iPad
- Backup and restore (export and import a single file)
- Light and dark, in eight languages: Arabic and Urdu (right to left), English, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Turkish and French

■ Privacy
Qamari works entirely offline. No account, no ads, no data collection. Everything stays on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.

The free version includes the dual calendar, the date converter, the moon phase, region and weekend settings, this year's occasions, and up to 3 active reminders. A one-time Pro purchase unlocks unlimited reminders, occasions every year, per-month sighting adjustment, all fasting presets, widgets, export, natural typing, per-reminder times, the Ramadan day count and Shortcuts. It is not a subscription.

Qamari manages dates only. Religious decisions are left to you and to the authorities you follow.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-14

You can now edit and delete an event after saving it. Until now, tapping an event in the day view often did nothing, which left no practical way to correct something you had already saved. We're sorry about that.

■ Fixed
- Tapping an event in the day view opens the editor (the whole row responds now)
- Swipe an event to delete it
- The repeat picker also responds across the whole row
- The delete confirmation could lose its Cancel button on iPad
- Events on the same day no longer reorder themselves between launches

■ New
- Backup and restore (Settings → Data). Save your events, occasion and fasting subscriptions, sighting adjustment and settings to a single file, and restore it on a new device. Free
- A "Coming up" list under the calendar
- Sort occasions by calendar order or by next date
- Five new languages: Indonesian, Malay, Turkish, French and Urdu (eight in total)

■ Improved
- The secondary date at the top of the calendar is easier to read
- Faster calendar redraw

### 1.1 — 2026-07-29

■ Fixed

- Multi-day occasions were only marked on their first day
- Export now covers the full range you choose for weekly repeats
