## What is Qariah?

“Qariah” translates to a woman Quran reciter. While there are many public Qariahs around the globe in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria and Yemen, it is not a well known term in many Muslim communities in the west. Thus, the Qariah app aims to mainstream the term Qariah for women and ease accessing recitations of Qariahs…so that when little girls ask their mothers or aunts or sisters or homegirls, “Why are there no women Quran reciters?” The answer will be a resounding, “There are an uncountable number of them- and God willing, you and I can be them too!”

Je pense que la récitation de Khadidja Azdad dans la Sourate Al Balad n’est pas bonne. J’ai cru entendre des fautes de prononciation. 
L’application est une très bonne initiative mais il faudrait vérifier les recitatrices qui y sont ajoutées afin de ne pas nous mener dans l’erreur, car cela peut être très grave

I just want to say thank you to ustadha Maryam Amir for creating this app as a female Quran student, I’ve been a student of the Quran my whole life and this is my first time being exposed to so many different female qaria’s. I honestly feel so inspired hearing the beautiful and amazing voices of these women from around the world and also hearing recitations in some of the different qira’aat! The updates to the app are fantastic allahumma baarik. You can read the mishap (several options) and save your ayahs. But, there is a problem with how the ayah are matching up to the English translation. In Surah Maidah from pg 121 or so, the English translation displays for the wrong ayah. In sha Allah they will correct it. May Allah give them success. Amen
