I don’t think I’ve ever written a review, but I felt this was something that touched me deeply and I really hope to see it flourish in the best way possible. I admire the diversity and encouragement. I would however like to mention that the Quran should be read in a certain way with very accurate pronunciation and I believe posting certain readers for the sake of diversity although very noble and probably done with pure intentions, does not present the Quran in the way it should be presented. Also I admire the idea of having recordings from old women who have passed away. The quality of these recordings however are very poor and may better serve in a tribute section created for that specific purpose. I am sure there are many talented Female Egyptian readers out there that you can reach out to who would be thrilled to join this project. Last but not least I am not a fan of the recordings for just certain aya’s. I would very much enjoy being able to listen to the whole surah and hopefully one day the whole Quran by a single reader that I connect with if possible. I honestly feel so inspired hearing the beautiful and amazing voices of these women from around the world and also hearing recitations in some of the different qira’aat! You can read the mishap (several options) and save your ayahs. But, there is a problem with how the ayah are matching up to the English translation. In Surah Maidah from pg 121 or so, the English translation displays for the wrong ayah. In sha Allah they will correct it. May Allah give them success.
