A big update for qb DAF! • The waves now follow your real voice as you speak • Delay range extended up to 200 ms (in 25 ms steps) • Change the delay live, without stopping playback • New warning when using Bluetooth headphones, which add extra latency • Safer by design: the app now starts only with headphones connected, and stops automatically if they disconnect or a call comes in • Completely rebuilt audio engine for rock-solid start/stop reliability • Refreshed for the latest iPhones and iOS versions
Moreqb provides Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF), allowing users to hear their own voice with a slight delay. This feedback mechanism is designed to help users improve their speech fluency and reduce stuttering in real-time.
By providing real-time auditory feedback with a delay, qb helps users self-correct their speech patterns. This can lead to more controlled breathing and timing, which users report can reduce stuttering by up to 80% instantly.
To effectively use qb, you will need headphones with a microphone, either wired or Bluetooth. The app leverages this audio feedback loop to provide its therapeutic benefits.
For optimal results, it is recommended to set the delay between 50 ms and 75 ms. If using Bluetooth headphones, which inherently have a delay, setting the delay to 0 ms will still provide the desired effect due to the existing latency.
Yes, the app is described as 'professional DAF' and is suitable for those who want to practice speech exercises, reduce stuttering, or prepare for public speaking engagements.
qb is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices, indicating broad compatibility within the Apple ecosystem.
The latest version of qb is 1.2, which was last updated on January 18, 2023. This suggests a relatively consistent update schedule from the developer.
qb has an age rating of 17+, which is common for medical or specialized utility applications that may require a certain level of cognitive understanding or maturity.
