### 4/5 — Login issues

*2025-11-30*

App takes longer to login even in local network. And it keeps logging out when switching to another app and also when device locked. So background sync is not working with current version. Please fix.

From user experience point of view, it would be good to have the app detect network speed and select the video streaming resolution automatically. It’s not user friendly to select variable streaming quality for every video.

### 2/5 — Extract files does not work.

*2025-11-04, version 4.5.3*

When trying to extract zip files it schedules a job that doesn’t exist or completes. I have to reboot the NAS and then it works for a while.

### 3/5 — Cuts off first bit of MP3 files.

*2025-11-01, version 4.5.3*

This version and the one prior cut off the first 1/2 second or so of MP3 files when using it to play offline files. Please fix!

### 2/5 — 你们倒是更新啊

*2025-09-21, version 4.5.2*

有点压力好不好，这么难用

### 4/5 — Bugs still found even after many rounds of software updates

*2025-08-23, version 4.5.1*

if you first select photos from the iPhone then click top arrow key to select Qfile Pro application to copy these files to a QNAP NAS, the Qfile Pro does not return a message to confirm whether these files have been uploaded successfully or not.

### 2/5 — Apple Files integration broken

*2025-07-31, version 4.5.0*

Trying to use the Qfile integration in the Files app, it throws the error “Can’t communicate with helper application”. Please fix!

### 4/5 — MiniPlayer gone missing

*2024-12-19, version 4.3.1*

Used to have MiniPlayer on iOS native player for video playback. Now does not exist. Otherwise great app.

### 3/5 — UI needs work

*2024-12-05*

I’m really not liking the bright orange borders when it’s supposed to be in dark mode. Also, it’s very hard to read white text on a bright background. Also, would you please put the menu back at the bottom? There is too much stuff at the top already and notifications go up there. So if a notification pops up at the same time I’m about to tap on a menu item, I end up going to the notification instead. There’s plenty of room at the bottom. I guess everyone’s trying to be like Apple, but Apple doesn’t always make the best decisions on the UI. Yours was better.

**Developer response:** if you need dark mode, please go to iPhone system to switch to dark mode(Qfile will switch to dark mode too). Thanks for your suggestions in user interface, QNAP will keep this suggestion and discuss in next evaluation meeting

### 2/5 — Please add dark mode icon

*2024-10-14, version 4.3.0*

Please add dark app icon for iOS 18!!!

### 3/5 — Only partly works

*2024-08-21, version 4.2.0*

It does enable one to access files on a NAS. Connecting can be a pain. It does not find the NAS, one has to connect using IP address. Transfer/sync does not work properly. It seems to transfer files to iPad, but puts the folder in an inaccessible location which cannot be found by normal iPad Apps including ‘Files’, so not of any use. The App needs much more work on it. At present using an iPad with the NAS is no where near as useful as on a Mac.

### 2/5 — Uploading files from my iPad

*2024-08-03, version 4.2.0*

When attempting to upload folders/photos from my iPad files directory, i select the folder with thousands of photos i wish to upload, and then Qfile will only upload one photo in the folder, help :(

### 2/5 — This app no longer supports MKV

*2024-05-22, version 4.2.0*

The previous version was supportive and had the ability to choose between three viewer options. But Qfile pro does nothing and times out and only really plays MP4 files. VLC option constantly fails no longer works anymore (this could be a VLC issue or QFILE pro problem). The Qfile (native iOS decoder) only comes up based on certain file types. This app used to work about 2-3 versions ago but now it’s pretty much useless.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer works with 26.4

*2026-04-28, version 4.5.7*

I have two iPhones. The one with iOS 26.4 doesn’t work anymore. It can’t find the Qnap and if I use the IP it fails to login. My other phone with iOS 18.7, it works just fine. So 1 star based on my phone with 26.4.

### 1/5 — Connecting is a nightmare

*2026-03-22, version 4.5.7*

Why is it so unnecessarily complicated?

### 1/5 — 自动同步照片无法选择nas上的文件夹

*2025-02-03, version 4.4.0*

sbwy

### 1/5 — iOS junk

*2024-12-08, version 4.3.1*

Works fine on android

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-09-23, version 4.3.0*

Using iPad with 17.6.1 OS. Apple’s Files app finds and logs into my Qnap NAS without any difficulty. BUT this app’s network Discover Device never finds the NAS. I then try login using the server’s address and that method always returns error Cannot connect to QNAP device no matter what user permission I use. This app couldn’t be less worthless.

### 1/5 — Why?

*2024-09-19, version 4.3.0*

Why is my app storing documents on my iPad hard drive? Today the app had 32 gig of documents on my iPad hard drive. Why? I use my iPad only to download to my NAS what is this 32 gig of data? The only way to manage this 32 gig is to delete the app and reinstall … kind of ridiculous

### 1/5 — Battery drain

*2024-09-14, version 4.3.0*

The latest version is continuing running in the background consuming battery so fast that I have had to uninstall it.

### 1/5 — Has potential but currently broken

*2024-06-03, version 4.2.0*

If you try to download files to local storage the app just crashes. Reloading causes it to almost insta crash.

Sometimes it doesn’t show any remaining jobs, then suddenly the background downloads will reappear in the tasks list.

Needs fixing.

### 1/5 — Background upload doesn’t work

*2024-04-07, version 4.1.3*

Background upload only works when the app is open. And why does the app require to always know my location even though it’s set to upload over WiFi??

### 1/5 — Crashes when configuring auto upload

*2024-01-12, version 4.1.1*

iPhone 15 pro. App crashes when trying to select a folder during configuration of auto photo upload. Rebooted and reinstalled app. Same issue.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Interface

*2026-02-25, version 4.5.5*

Very Good app for accessing my files in real time!

### 5/5 — Easy to access and work with files

*2025-12-25, version 4.5.4*

I find this app very good for accessing my files, transferring and working on them. Able to set up both local and network access separately.

### 5/5 — Best NAS storage for home

*2025-09-25*

I use to have a Synology NAS. Which was really nice. But the QNAP model, which was the same price as the Synology was a lot more power due to its stronger processor. While I was out working in the field. The QNAP responded better, quicker. A Course I could have spent more money and upgraded to a better Synology for better results. But I wanted to stick to my budget. QNAP’s are very nice, great features!!!

### 5/5 — Love my qnap server

*2025-04-26*

The server has saved me so much money that I would have been wasting on buying storage from someone like girl cloud. And with Synology locking users out of feature if they don’t buy their marked up prices drives. Qnap is one of the best options for a plug and play option. Not to mention they have faster hardware. And pretty solid app ecosystem!
The file pro is there most solid app that has worked every time for me.

### 5/5 — Fixed! (Original: Stopped Working)

*2024-12-17, version 4.3.1*

Update: Rebooted the NAS, logged out and logged back in to the app. It started working again.

Original Review:

It used to work fine, all of sudden says incompatible firmware and doesn’t connect.
It should have warned before the update that this will break existing working setup.
Unbelievable!

### 5/5 — Easy to access and work with files

*2024-09-08, version 4.3.0*

I find this app very good for accessing my files, transferring and working on them. Able to set up both local and network access separately.

### 5/5 — Good

*2024-04-26, version 4.1.3*

Awesome! i can practice my saxophone by listening to instrumental music through this app.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2024-04-20, version 4.1.3*

Luving this app it works great, I use it with my nas to back everything up, works like a dream

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-03-13, version 4.1.3*

This app can do a lot of things.

### 5/5 — Ignore old reviews. It works well.

*2023-11-12, version 4.1.0*

The app is working well. Any old reviews are about the version that was 4+ years old which wasn’t great. Updated version from past year has been working well for me anyway.
Handy to sync phone photos to Qnap!
