Please write us at support@figure53.com for more details! ~BL ### 4/5 — Great app, but: *2022-11-07* QLab is a great app and functions well. The only caveat I have with it is the Go/control button. I WISH it was significantly larger and more central! It’s often challenging to hit the button while doing a presentation, to the extent that I need to put my iPhone on lock mode and turn the phone upside down so my thumb can hit it when it’s at the top. Developers: Thanks for a great app, please consider significantly enlarging the button! **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We have made the GO button possible to be resized to some degree. You can tap the "target" button in the navigation bar and drag the yellow handles to adjust the height of the On-Deck view. This gives GO more room to spread out. If you have any questions, please feel free to write us at support@figure53.com. ~BL ### 4/5 — Very useful app, but.. *2021-12-04* I work at a theatre where most of the times I have to do the preparations alone, so it’s a very handy tool to do some corrections on the geometry when it’s simply not possible to do so from the foh. There is one thing I would really appreciate and which would optimise my workflow.. it’s sometimes very annoying to just drag and drop the corners in the surface area because of lags and latency issues via network. Yes it’s possible to dial the coordinates into the certain corner but it would be very convenient to have something like arrow-keys to shift the corner just by a few pixels in the right direction. **Developer response:** I'm happy to report that QLab Remote does support arrow-key input for nudging surface control points! After you tap on a control point, arrow up/down/left/right will nudge that point accordingly by 1 pixel. Hold down the Shift key for a more coarse 10px nudge. (Make sure you aren't currently editing either of the numeric value text fields for that point, otherwise the arrow keys will move the insertion point within the text instead.) So very close to perfect. *2016-05-12* This is so close to exactly what I was hoping for. It has made my work so much more accessible from anywhere in a space. My main complaint is that there is no way to access the Active Cues list. Having the ability to see all cues running, how they interact, running times, and the ability to pause and scrub are things I constantly need. Even if the delay made it not very responsive, it would still be invaluable in rehearsals and workshopping. ### 2/5 — Q lab remote *2015-12-05* Working well. Could be very helpfull. But needs internet connection. That makes it useless. There is not very often internet at locations. And the question is: who wants web connection during show ? Opened the app and it automatically detected my two show files on two different Macs located on our network. Anything I've created in Qlab can be edited from the app. I can also add notes. Combine that with the remote feature and this is a great companion app for Qlab. Well done! ### 2/5 — Overpriced, underfeatured *2015-01-04* This is pretty much what it says it is: a remote. For $20, that's pretty steep. I have buyer's remorse, in a way. You can do some things to the cues, but...I also find it a little strange feeling -- after hitting Go, you're not quite sure that it was hit. Doesn't quite feel right. (And I'm paranoid you'll have to buy another one when v4 of Qlab comes out.) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Didn't work when I needed most *2025-04-21* Love the software and had high hopes for the phone app, but complete disappointment and a shaky connection and ultimately couldn't use it for the show I NEEDED it for. We'd be happy to help you troubleshoot your connection. ### 1/5 — This totally ruins figure53 *2024-04-17* Instead of other one complaining charge, we’re pay for the professional app who asking money, but not in this case. I can’t see there are any sense still default with “Read-Only Mode” when you already paid for ops. Seem like it need verify by App Store every time you connect to the host computer, keeping press disable read-mode won’t help, you have leave the host network then join another network with internet access, which mean you also lost the connection with host! Otherwise, iOS won’t keep apps running background if you floated multi-tasking. My corp paid ton of licenses to this company and this time really disappointed! Coz it switching between Paid/ Unpaid mode, all the layout you did gone every time. What the hell? All latest well update version so no excuse. **Developer response:** I'm sorry you are having trouble with your purchase not restoring. This is not the normal behavior for QLab Remote. We have found that the most consistent resolution to this issue is to do a “force restore” while online and able to connect to the App Store. Please open the "Purchases" screen and tap the “Restore Previous Purchases” button three times. (After the second tap the title changes to “Force Restore Previous Purchases”.) The “force restore” will prompt you to enter your App Store credentials.  This typically solves the issue. If it does not, please be sure to contact us. We are always happy to help! ### 1/5 — Always crash *2023-05-19* It’s crazy how many time that apps crash on me. Lost the link every 15 minutes…. and it’s a nightmare to try to reconnect every time. I have to say that the support is quick but how more complicated you can do an app for a go button and few more fonctions… I’m not recommend this app at all. I’m a professional in the industry for 35 years and they have to work on a connectivity that is work better. I have an answer from the support department but man this is so complicated for nothing, if you have too many people in your room it make the connection crash and too complicated for nothing and too expensive for what it is. Spend your money on a real GO button patch in your computer with a cable. Sorry developers but you will have to find a better app especially for an app made for QLAB… Don’t buy… and the free version is a joke… **Developer response:** Hi and I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with QLab Remote. The screenshot you sent to Support shows that QLab Remote had stopped getting replies from QLab, rather than unexpectedly quitting. It takes multiple failures and nearly 30 seconds before the app times out and shows that alert, so that is why Support asked for further information about your network environment. We are happy to continue troubleshooting if you have a moment to let us know those details. If you have your audio console on the same network, another test would be to isolate QLab Remote and QLab on their own Wi-Fi network to see if that helps. We'd also be happy to recommend other apps that let you build a simpler interface if you don't need the full feature set QLab Remote provides. ~BL ### 1/5 — Sad *2019-12-25* Tooo expensive!!! Before now, the only way to use "Read-Only Mode" was to buy the whole app for ¥4,800. It has all the features necessary to run a show using QLab with nothing but a phone (with a Mac device to run the actual QLab software, of course.) Great app, and if your production uses QLab I highly recommend! ### 5/5 — A really good companion *2026-04-04* An amazing app that goes really well with QLab. It is solid. My only issues ever have related to losing network connectivity which is not the app’s problem. It reconnects when the network reconnects. ### 5/5 — Does exactly what it says *2023-10-02, version 5.2.5* There are plenty of instructions on the QLab website. ### 5/5 — Show Control only version, please? *2019-09-30* In a world of increasingly buggy and poorly designed software, the QLab developers continue to succeed in delivering a quality product that is truly useful and versatile. Due to space limitations, for most performances our theater uses pre-recorded tracks rather than live musicians. QLab provides so much flexibility with its cues that I am able to fit the music to the performers rather than the other way around. As an added bonus, the MIDI and network cues allow us to control all of the mics and lighting, precisely synchronized with the music. The mobile version lets me edit and fire cues while sitting out in the audience area, which is a big benefit to me given that our tech booth is awkwardly positioned outside the sound pattern of the main speakers. My big wish list item for the iOS app is a separate in-app purchase for an “operator-only” version that can be used to fire cues but not to make edits. It would be extremely useful for me to give a stage manager the ability to fire, stop, and restart cues during rehearsals without the risk of someone inadvertently changing the show design. It would also be nice if this could be provided at a lower price point than the Show Control and Editing option given the reduced functionality. I’m sure this option would spur a lot more app purchases since a typical theater may have only one or two show designers while using different stage managers and production team members for each show. ### 5/5 — Surprised this isn’t more popular *2019-06-02* I work In a theater where we run lots of dance recitals and competitions and being able to hand the client an iPad with all their music for rehearsal and performances bypasses the necessity for telex communicators as they can choose their own start and stop. Clients love it and it makes my job practically set up only. 11/10 love it. A little pricey but for our application very worth it. Couldn’t get the theater to cover it but even out of pocket I’d buy it again hands down ### 5/5 — Review *2018-11-29* I love how the show files just popped up on my phone screen when I opened it on my computer.
