Considering your API has access to live trip data, the fact this app opens the journey planner in safari (where it runs terribly, I should add), this is the quickest uninstall I've ever done. I was expecting a map with my location and all the lines/stations around me. What I got was an A-Z alphabetical list of stations with a search field. But what the hey, lets link to a crappy website for that instead of using open exchange data for transport natively in an app built by a government owned 'smart state' corporate who spends millions on signals that don't work... bravo QR... bravo ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Pointless & Errors Everywhere - Bookmark Site *2024-05-13, version 1.67* This feels like the kind of app where a developer had a bunch of meetings with QR business and because that section is executive and probably very out of touch with catching a train. Ever go to a train station and find there’s a paper notice saying that trains are cancelled for track upgrades and ask staff how you can plan for this better (not using Journey Planner), because you don’t want to waste half an hour on trying different stations. The staff invariably point to the paper notice. The one you see WHEN you have already arrived and created plans. Plans that don’t involve busses. There are cancellations all the time on 2024. This app has nothingness. No information. The station list errors. The journey planner goes to the website. This app accurately represents my experience of QR as a business. ### 1/5 — What a joke of an App *2023-05-15, version 1.67* It would be a nice idea to have an app that track your journey on the train you are on. This app just directs you to the journey planner which is actually a poor version of what google offers. Does nothing. ### 1/5 — Hopeless *2017-09-14, version 1.44* This does nothing that you can't do better already. Less. It doesn't give you timetables, which you can find online in a browser. It sends you to your browser for the trip planner. It tells you where train stations are, just like your maps app, but a maps app will also tell you how to get there from where you are, and everything else that's around it. It will tell you how to report broken fittings and equipment, though. Such as this app. Downloaded and deleted again within minutes. ### 1/5 — What a 'derailment' of an app. *2017-08-29, version 1.44* After not providing even enough data on your free in train wi-fi to download this app, I am sorely disappointed. I grew up in Brisbane, using the trains, but am now an infrequent visitor and even less frequent user of the rail service. This app, for a visitor, was utterly useless. It linked me back to a website (translink) that I had already found and used. Seriously? When the first icon / menu item is "Report maintenance"... ? ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Phone lost and found *2024-12-07* On our honeymoon we left one of our phones on the rail and did not realize it until we were out of the station. Sprinting back in hopes of a miracle. An employee saw me flustered. His name is Rizmy who was our miracle. He took action and called the conductors to search the train and within 5 minutes which felt like an eternity he told us it was found and will be back to us in a half hour. We were relieved of his quick action and kindness. Truly thankful and want to give that man a hug and raise. ### 4/5 — Limited but useful *2016-06-18, version 1.2* While this app has limited functionality, the free TripGo app works fantastic for trip planning and not limited to QLD, and it lets you export the trip to your calendar. A network map would be handy in the QR app but reporting lost property is easy via app and station info is useful. ### 2/5 — Needs major updating *2022-02-10, version 1.56* I’ve just noticed this app was last updated 2 years ago. Going into it, it appears to be an app version of the website. No, I didn’t explore the app; the website is unreliable enough as it is. What it needs is to list our tickets for the various travel trains after we’ve purchased them online or via phone; just like Ticketek and Eventbrite. There might be other things it could do with but I can’t think of them. This app has so much potential that’s not being taken advantage of. ### 2/5 — Just a shell *2020-02-03, version 1.56* After issues with Translink app, I saw that QR had their own app. It’s barely a shell of an app. Clicking on Journey Plan says it will open a browser window, which brings up a random page “ TransLink GTFS Real-Time Feed” ### 2/5 — Looks nice, limited functionality *2016-12-01* Much better looking than TransLink app but journey planner makes you open a separate app/browser... that's the main purpose of the app??
