### 4/5 — Thank you for Dark mode!

*2026-07-30*

Thanks for listening to feedback and enabling dark mode. When working late at night this is a must have feature.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-05-14, version 2.27.0*

I really like this app and the move to AI helps to manage the overly-complex user interface.

Please add ‘check for firmware update’ to the list of AI commands

### 2/5 — Bring back dark mode

*2026-02-16*

System followed dark mode is gone with no discernible way to get it back.

### 2/5 — What happened to Device Light/Dark Mode?

*2026-02-05*

This latest update disabled following system light/dark mode. Please fix this. Otherwise the functionality looks the same.

### 2/5 — Sorely in need of an update

*2025-11-07, version 2.25.4*

Clunky, bare-bones functionality. Yes, you can manage your QNAP NAS. No, you won’t enjoy the experience.

### 3/5 — Needs a bug update

*2025-03-12*

Ever since updating my iPad to 18.3 this app likes to randomly crash, just spontaneously closes without warning.
Also download station looses connection to the server any time I switch away and return to the app.

iPad mini 6 iOS 18.3.2

### 3/5 — Notification are broken after 18.2 update

*2024-12-19, version 2.22.0*

Notification sent by nas is not received on iphone, emails & messages sent to IM still work.

### 2/5 — Can’t log in with 2FA

*2024-06-05*

The keyboard for entering my PIN number doesn’t disappear and obscures the “login” button. I can’t get into my sever.

**Developer response:** Qmanager 2.21.0 is release with several bug fix and enhancement, please go to download it

### 3/5 — It works but it’s lacking

*2023-12-17, version 2.19.2*

This app is great for receiving push notifications from the NAS but that’s about it.
It’s slow and clunky.

The one thing I want a NAS for is backups. And I can’t view / modify / trigger scheduled backups from any of the qnap apps.

### 3/5 — QManager

*2023-10-08*

Since upgrading my iPhone to iOS 17.0.3 a few days ago, WOL no longer works from QManager. Not changed anything on my home network and WOL still works on my old iPhone on iOS 16.5.1.

### 2/5 — iPad app

*2023-07-28, version 2.19.0*

No longer works with container station. Says no containers are running, but they are. Have to use the web interface. Too bad, the app has potential but it is obviously not tested at all.

### 3/5 — Broken app

*2023-01-18*

The last update broken the app, it is unusable

**Developer response:** Dear user, we apologize for any issue you might be having! Please update you application to the latest version. If there still has problems, please send details of what you are experiencing to our customer support at https://helpdesk.qnap.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit? We'll get you up and running.

### 3/5 — Useful but lacking security council

*2022-02-04, version 2.17.0*

This is a useful App which allows simple observations and control of your NAS. However, since QNAP released the security councillor you are blind to any important information in this critical part of the system. Needs an update.

### 1/5 — Where has backup station link gone?

*2021-09-13, version 2.16.13*

Only used for backup station. That seems to have disappeared. App is useless to me in its current state.

### 2/5 — 2FA Not supported with app

*2021-08-29, version 2.16.12*

I run 2FA on my qnap and this app does not support it so I cannot use.

### 1/5 — Cannot unlock encrypted volumes

*2021-08-11, version 2.16.11*

Using the app (iPhone or iPad), when entering volume encryption password to unlock volumes after restart, it fail with “invalid password” and the password entered is good, validated multiple times.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible update

*2026-05-24, version 2.27.1*

App now ignores dark mode settings and forces an ugly unbearable blinding bright white.
Taking away the most popular feature (dark mode) and adding the most hated which is ai junk no one wants.
Before this update the app worked well and looked good.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2025-02-10, version 2.23.0*

Can’t login when 2 factor authentication is enabled.

The keyboard comes up when prompted to enter the code but the action buttons are behind the keyboard.

### 1/5 — Insanely slow still

*2025-01-16*

I feel like I’m using this app on dial-up internet in the 1990s. It’s so slow to startup and report anything, while being on the same LAN. Do better QNAP.

### 1/5 — Still can’t click the “login” button after 2FA

*2024-11-10, version 2.21.0*

I was advised to update my app a few months ago to fix this, but still no luck. The numeric keypad covers the login button, and without an enter key I can’t submit. Pretty rough.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-10-26*

This app crashes immediately when it tries to open unusable

### 1/5 — Insanely slow

*2024-09-17*

I feel like I’m using this app on dial-up internet in the 1990s. It’s so slow to startup and report anything, while being on the same LAN. Do better QNAP.

### 1/5 — How is this rated 5 stars?

*2024-05-31, version 2.20.0*

It takes more than 5 minutes to connect to your Qnap NAS. Randomly signs you out. And then guess what, another 5 minutes to connect. You’re better off using your browser.

### 1/5 — Very poor app

*2023-05-01, version 2.18.9*

As title goes, nothing but a marketing gimmick, just like all other mobile apps from Qnap. Very slow app with my TVS-873 64GB RAM and SSD system disks and hasn’t seen any major updates except for cosmetic fixes over several years. It pretty much offers only updating/restarting apps, update NAS firmware and restart/shutdown. Everything else in it is mostly a read only old school dashboard. Getting very disappointed with QNAP lately as they had completely overlooked NAS usability and their mobile app stack…

### 1/5 — Crap app

*2022-08-23*

Seriously thinking about another NAS.. the qnap apps are terrible. This one crashes constantly on iPhone 13 and won’t allow me to do anything..

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-02-08, version 2.17.0*

Another useless app from qnap.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Lots of updates

*2025-01-09*

This app has been updated plenty in the last 5 years, and now I’m able to get NAS push notifications, see the status, monitor resources, manage my docker containers, and see the realtime status of my backup jobs, and probably more that I personally don’t use!

### 5/5 — Works great now

*2024-06-10*

It’s been bumpy, but most of the negative feedback is quite old. It’s nice to have resource monitoring from the phone, especially on the fly when I am modifying QVR bitrates. Great overview, and allows for push notifications for specific situations.

**Developer response:** Thank you for downloading and giving us a five-star rating. QNAP will continue to develop quality products.

### 5/5 — Nearly perfect

*2024-03-21, version 2.20.0*

I use this app to monitor my QNAP NAS and it not only lets me update firmware and apps but check processes etc.
If the developer reads this, can they please provide a widgets for the Mac and also iPad, as then it would be excellent.

### 5/5 — Excellent app to manage my QNAP NASes

*2024-02-01*

Easy to setup.
1. Clear graphical overview of my NAS’s CPU, RAM, Disks, uptime, temperature, etc.
2. Menu options for details as well as every aspect of the NAS’s functions.
3. Notifications for updates, security, etc.

You need to setup QNAP cloud account and have your NAS on it. QNAP lets you setup 2 factors authentication as well multiple security options to keep my NAS secure.

This app along with fille manager is perfect.
Thanks,
QNAP!

### 5/5 — Basic But Helpful

*2021-02-12*

This app is amazing at providing a basic high level overview of the statuses of the multitude of functions of your QNAP device. More detailed data and setup will still require logging in the old fashioned way.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2019-04-02*

Nice, full-featured but not overly complex tool. Seems reliable so far.

### 5/5 — Absolutely brilliant

*2019-04-01, version 2.10.0*

This app along will all the other ‘Free’ Qnap apps is amazing. You can easily manage all the essential features anywhere in the world. What more could you ask for? I’m not sure why there are any bad reviews, I’m a network administrator and even professional servers don’t have these types of features on a mobile phone!!

### 5/5 — Fantastic remote for an excellent NAS system

*2017-11-23, version 2.5.0*

Contrary to the reviews on here this software is really brilliant. It has had some quirks over the versions but overall it massively useful; as the other commenter said you can upgrade firmware, you can also check most stats, restart the device, download torrents whilst away from your device and tonnes more useful features.

Ignore the anti-hype. This app is great and the QNAP system in general is so versatile and expansive. Even my 3/4 year old NAS T251 packed with features and I use it daily.

5/5

### 5/5 — Simply Brilliant

*2016-03-10, version 2.1.0*

If you are running any QNAP NAS powered by QTS 4.2 or later, then you should consider this a must-have app. Written by QNAP, this gives complete insight into the operational performance of your NAS. Pretty much any attribute you can check on via the web admin panels are available to you here, all from the convenience of your iOS device. Even better, if you have configured your systems to use SMTP to send you updates, then you can pick up an alert and check it out, all from your iPad or iPhone. Fabulous.

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2015-11-26, version 2.0.1*

Very nice app, well designed, lots of info (very similar to what you get on the main NAS interface and in the apps), and the ability to configure a lot of things remotely.

Unlike a lot of the other QNAP software and apps (particular the software and apps that run on the NAS itself), this one feels professionally designed and implemented. That said, so many of the other apps (that run on the NAS itself) need major work, at least in the area of extensive bug fixes and reliability, let alone general design. Until the NAS and related apps get a professional touch (like this app appears to have gotten), QNAP NAS and related products would not be something I would recommend, they are highly unreliable and extremely problematic and bug ridden, to the point of not being usable for their basic purposes.
