Its got all the feature you want, just none of them actually work! Like check boxes, formatting. Even using it connected on my local network its slow...very slow. To the point it doesn't sync correctly between updating on web app and phone. The web app is also way too slow compared to something like googles keep or microsoft notes. Even tried reinstalling the app with same result. ### 1/5 — Don’t use this program. *2017-12-21* If you are an average user and use this program to store your notes at some point you will lose everything and be sorry you ever started using this program. I’d say I’m an above average user but this is what happened to me. I received a notification that there was an upgrade available for the app on the NAS. There was a problem with the upgrade and I lost everything. I do a backup weekly of everything on my NAS. But this with this issue I found out painfully that the Notes program does not store the files in a folder that can be backed up. They are stored in a database within the NAS operating system. Lost everything. Take my advise. Don’t use this program. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Hire someone professional UX designers. *2024-10-17* This is Windows software on a Mac. It’s a ugly app. QNAP look at the Bear notes app in the AppStore. Even the link to your support throws a 404 error so what should be expected from the rest of the app? On iPhone Bizarre App - to see the “menu” at the top of the screen you need to drag the screen UPWARDS unlike most Apps which either leave it visible or use drag DOWNWARDS. To make changes you hit the “pencil in the square” thing why there isn’t a more usual New, Update and Save is beyond me.There is no SAVE after making changes you need to hit the “tick”. They never display anything. Great job qnap. Thank you. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Great update today but... *2020-07-07, version 1.4.0* All I need is aomethng like the chrome clipper for websites to have a similar version in the mobile app. So I can save webpages on my phone!! That’s it! ### 4/5 — Nice app on QNAP *2019-07-10* I like the ease of use for this app as I am looking to replace Evernote with something on premise. I am able to get this working and access it from the internet thanks to the cloud access. Beyond that this app is very comparable to one note from Microsoft. My one complaint are: 1) there’s is no zoom and pinch. It’s very difficult to use this app on a small screen. I can change it to landscape and there’s no pinch to zoom. 2) theres no “select all” when you try to copy text ### 3/5 — No have form tool in ipad and iOS app *2024-02-04* No have form tool in ipad and iOS app，hope add it next version。 ### 3/5 — Please add full functionality of server app *2018-03-25, version 1.0.4* The notes3 app may become useful. Please would you add the full functionality to it as with the server app. The ipad is more than capable of anything that the server app can do. I note that the writers of ‘Notability’ have gone the other way round in making the ipad app more capable than the macOS version. Again this is a limiting direction for me. This may be a promising app but currently it is severely limited and from my point of view unnecessarily so. ### 3/5 — Love the app needs improvement/update *2018-03-10* About half the time the app works. If you are on the go and use this app in different locations, the app cannot reconnect which is very annoying. I have to go into settings, log out and log back in for it to connect properly. Also the app is limited to word editing then the app on the Qnap. For instance I couldn't find where I can change the size of my font for wording. Small detail but needs improvement. I hope it's gets updated soon I'd still love to use it. ### 2/5 — Works, but only online *2023-06-17, version 1.6.7* Cannot create an offline note, always trying to connect not allowing to create a note. When connection is established, works somewhat ok. Sometimes crashes. Minor usability issues as well.
