## What is QR Guardian?

QR Guardian

Every QR code is a leap of faith.
Most are harmless. Some aren’t.

QR Guardian scans every code before it opens, helping you avoid phishing pages, fake login screens, scam payments, and malicious links hiding in plain sight.

How it works

• Point your camera at any QR code
• The content is analyzed in milliseconds
• You see a clear risk level: SAFE · LOW · MEDIUM · HIGH · CRITICAL
• Each verdict includes an explanation so you understand the risk
• Critical threats are blocked automatically

What QR Guardian checks

• Phishing patterns like fake login pages or urgent payment requests
• Brand impersonation such as paypal-login.xyz or binance-airdrop.tk
• Suspicious top-level domains like .tk, .ml, .xyz, .top
• HTTP links pretending to be secure websites
• URL shorteners hiding their real destination
• IP-address based links instead of domains
• Login and verification traps inside URLs
• Community-reported threats from a public database

More than just URLs

QR Guardian understands multiple QR formats and evaluates them safely:

• Web links checked against trusted-domain signals and threat heuristics
• Wi-Fi networks flagged if encryption is missing
• Contact cards added safely to your address book
• Phone numbers checked for premium-rate risks
• Calendar events, email addresses, and map locations reviewed before opening
• Crypto addresses treated with extra caution because transactions are irreversible

See exactly what you’re opening

Tap See Details on any scan to inspect the structure of the destination:

• Protocol status (HTTPS encrypted vs HTTP unencrypted)
• Domain clearly highlighted
• Path and query parameters fully visible

If a short link hides its destination, you’ll know.
If a domain looks like a real brand but isn’t, it’s flagged immediately.

Powered by the community

QR Guardian uses a transparent, community-driven threat database.

When someone reports a malicious QR code, it helps protect everyone else.
The database is public on GitHub. No black boxes. No hidden logic.

Privacy first

• No tracking
• No ads
• No account required
• No analytics SDKs
• Analysis happens locally whenever possible
• Reports never include personal data

Perfect for everyday scanning

• Restaurant menus and store QR codes
• Payment QR codes like Mercado Pago, PayPal, Stripe, and PIX
• Posters, flyers, and business cards
• Travelers scanning unfamiliar QRs abroad
• Parents helping kids scan safely
• Anyone tired of scam QR codes in public spaces

Built with care by CM64 Studio.
