Changing volume requires diligence and tenacity with sliders. One of my least favorite apps. ### 3/5 — Love my Qrs but *2025-09-06, version 5.0.49* Love my QRS system but come on guys the app is so clunky and lacks easy functionality. The ability to go in and out of all albums is difficult if even available on all tracks. Do you guys use the app and find it easy, I have to say no way. Make it more user friendly, add the ability to scan songs and albums easier, make the ability to purchase songs easy, add a monthly all access subscription…that’s why gym memberships work. So well people forget about them. If this was $10-15 a month I would just let it go forever. Make buying songs and albums easier like Apple Pay. Fix your UI it’s painful. Long time user been hoping for updates… ### 1/5 — Garbage *2023-01-05, version 3.4* Do not buy this garbage system. $37k spent on a Boston piano with this compete garbage installed for $7k Tech support is not all that great and you have to make an appointment for them to call you. It’s like trying to fix something that is very poorly built to start with. I bet lawsuits is waiting to happen for this company. I am definitely getting to this point. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever. Do not buy this system! *2022-12-10, version 3.4* This is the most convoluted app ever. It never works correctly, is impossible to start and connect, disconnects all the time. We’ve had their installers come out to try and even they can’t figure it out. This has been going on for years. Hire high school CS kids to rewrite. They will do a better job. It’s literally a joke of an app ### 1/5 — Does not want to work with expensive PNOII system *2022-06-30, version 3.4* This app doesn’t even want to connect to our PNOmation II system that’s installed on our Yamaha grand piano. I can connect the PNOII system via a web browser on my phone and typing in the IP address, but when I try to connect to the app, it tells me “no pianos found on this network”. A lot of money was spent just for this error to be prevalent. Not happy. ### 2/5 — Terrible implementation *2022-05-07, version 3.4* This app needs to be rebuilt. Nothing in it makes any sense. And there is no user information in it. It is buggy, crashes constantly, the UX is terrible, and overall it is a giant mess. Come one QRS, it’s 2022. The app is terrible, won’t stay connected, can’t reset, if it does play won’t shut off or change volume. I am honestly surprised Steinway is associated with this product. For the cost of the system and annual music your much better off putting an Amazon or google device under your piano and playing music that way. Worst musical device decision I have ever made. 3 pianos, 12 guitars, numerous reed and other string instruments and without a doubt this was the largest waste of time and money of the lot. I’ve had techs come to my house, added and removed parts. It’s just crap. Had a recorder in 5th grade that was better at making music. We are just dealing with this app until it’s replaced. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2024-12-23, version 3.7* It is outrageous that the only meaningful way you can control this incredibly expensive player on your already expensive piano is an app that appears to have been designed by a sixth grader. The only constant is that it never works consistently. Effectively every single time I try to use it, there is a new problem. This is just horrible support and if you are considering buying one of these devices, I say stay clear away. ### 1/5 — Waste of money!!! *2024-11-18, version 3.7* All of the reviews here are correct. This was the biggest waste of money. A female voice randomly announces the piano’s IP address. Creepy when this happens in the middle of the night. The app rarely finds the piano. If you want to listen, plan lots of time to mess with the app. We usually give up long before the app starts working. It’s crazy that Steinway is known for high quality and they recommend this complete piece of garbage. ### 1/5 — For 10k plus yearly membership this is despicable *2024-11-09, version 3.7* Seriously? Can’t even pic a song in an album if the music is 12,13,15 because the app doesn’t scroll all the way to the end of the album. It’s embarrassing. Such a shame for an incredibly expensive piano setup. Better off going with Yamaha. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever- don’t buy it! *2024-01-15, version 3.7* I only wish I’d read the reviews BEFORE buying this player. It cost a lot, and it’s been nothing but frustrating. Two customer service visits and multiple calls in just a few months. It’s still terrible. Reading these reviews, it’s clear that NOTHING has changed or improved. Shame on you for continuing to scam people with this piece of junk. It disconnects continually. App won’t load. The lady starts loudly announcing the IP address multiple times in the middle of the night! Three times last night waking up the whole house! I finally just unplugged the dumb thing. I was so excited to get this, and now I’m so regretful. They ought to be shut down. What is Steinway thinking by being associated with this?! Don’t buy it! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. System is a waste of a LOT of money *2023-11-28, version 3.7* Don’t buy this system, if you are thinking about it. If you already own it, welcome to the fooled club. Company does not care if their app is outdated and nonfunctional. Give any consideration of this app/system a hard pass. ### 1/5 — Great idea but it fell flat *2023-10-01, version 3.7* It cost 10 K to add to our Steinway. The most annoying thing was problem solving issues like the random announcement of IP address. I reached out twice and my husband several times. My encounters resulted in the person telling me “oh that happens…easy fix…I’ll send you an email.” I asked for tech-support and was informed they are out of state, and to contact by email. I sent a request to and never heard back. I can’t speak for everybody, but if you don’t have a Lotta extra money, buy CDs or a music subscription. If you have money get the Spiro by Steinway. Or at least do yourself a favor and look at it and not this dysfunctional piece of technology. Also of note, we have a friend that is a very good piano teacher, and the piano is a big part of her life. She cringed when she listen to some of the music because the rhythm was off. Just a lot of issues with the quality of the music. ### 1/5 — Piano great; App Terrible! *2023-09-28, version 3.7* The piano plays great and the library is full of great music… But the app is antiquated, full of bugs, and drives me nuts. Pretty much every time I use the app, it crashes or disconnects, or does not allow the connection to begin with. It is super slow and takes sometimes minutes just to load the app, if it loads at all. It does not find the piano on my home Wi-Fi network, and only works when you are connected directly to the piano. This is very frustrating because you have to toggle between networks constantly in order to interact with the piano. I wish they would revamp this app and make it work properly. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — The app works fine The brain of people does notice. *2026-01-09, version 5.0.49* The QRS Finder app works fine. I’ve been an independent QRS piano technician since 2016 and have noticed a common thread among people who leave 1-Star and 2–Star reviews about the QRS Finder app. The app both works and finds the IP address ONLY if you’re connected to the right WIFI network. If you’re not connected to the CORRECT WIFI NETWORK, PLEASE RECONNECT TO THE CORRECT WIFI NETWORK AND TRY AGAIN. This applies to all QRS Wireless systems including the PNO2, PNO3, and PNO4 wireless processors. Also, if you have a super high tech home WiFi system that costs $1000s of dollars, set the channel down to <2.5 GHz so QRS can actually find your network and stay connected. ### 5/5 — Takes a little guidance *2024-09-13, version 3.7* Once you get connected and get a hang of the app, you’re golden.
