I'm excited to use this for my vinyl records. You will need a USB-Audio Interface to put between your record player and iPad/iPhone, but once that is set up, streaming to a pair of HomePods or other airplay device is cake. Also, integration with Apple Music to fetch what song is playing on the record and AppleTV app to display song and lyrics. Unfortunately, after about 2 minutes the connection breaks and I have to re-plug in my input and reselect my output to get it playing again. The main reason I wanted this was for the live lyrics, and it wouldn’t work. The AirPlay bit worked fine, but it just continually says it’s waiting for input/output and doesn’t load the song lyrics. Would love to have this working and will probably try again in the future. Edit: using an Audio-Technica AT-LP60XUSB connected over USB to my iPad ### 4/5 — Der (fast) perfekte Vinyl-Begleiter *2025-05-03* Live lyrics für meine Schallplattensammlung, was will ich mehr? Zu den fünf Sternen fehlt noch, dass die Lyrics besser synchronisiert sind (Shazam kriegt das mit weniger Latenz hin, während bei Quanta die Anzeige manchmal 5 Sekunden hinter der Musik ist), dass Live Lyrics nicht immer manuell angeklickt werden müssen, wenn man eine neue Platte auflegt, und ein paar mehr Einstellungsmöglichkeiten fürs Design. ### 4/5 — Love the concept but need a clarification *2024-03-09* Hi 1/ I love the basic idea of streaming from vinyl to multi room but not so much of data going to big platforms or internet in general. Would love an option to have pure local usage (no data sent to any servers) and I’m not interested in having anything displayed or lyrics or whatever on a screen. 2/ it would be nice to have a little explanation on how to best connect the vinyl to the phone. I intend to repurpose an old iPhone that has a jack: does it work as well as an adaptor ? Is is stereo or do you have a recommendation for a setup ? Thanks ### 5/5 — Significantly simplified my Turntable AirPlay setup *2026-03-21, version 2.4* For years I’ve been using an old Mac running AirFoil to Airplay the audio from my turn table to my HomePods and Sonos speakers. It required a the Mac, an external monitor, an audio interface, a mouse and a keyboard, much of which required recharging annoyingly often. Now that’s just an iPad mini connected to an audio interface and power. The app is so far much more reliable and nicer to use.
