## What is Quarters?

Whose turn is it, who owes what, who never saw the message. Quarters answers all three so nobody has to be the nag. Chores rotate themselves. Bills split and settle up. One thread holds the house.

YOUR TURN, MADE OBVIOUS
Set up rotations — trash, dishes, whatever your house fights about — and Quarters hands them from roommate to roommate on schedule. A quiet nudge when it's yours. A gentle ping to the house when someone falls behind. Every turn finishes with a photo, so done means done.

BILLS WITHOUT THE AWKWARD TEXT
Add a bill, split it evenly or by share, and watch balances settle themselves. One tap marks you paid. Settle up clears everything you owe a roommate at once. Scan a receipt and the total, date and store fill themselves in. Amounts stay legible, not spreadsheet-y.

ONE THREAD FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE
Chat lives next to a running house journal: who cleaned, who paid, who joined. Reply, react, send a photo. Nobody writes the journal. It just accumulates.

PINGS WHEN IT COUNTS
Your turn, a bill due, a roommate settling up. Quiet hours respected. Mute what you don't need.

Households are private. Join by code and you need the house password plus the owner's approval; an invite link a roommate sends you admits you straight in. Sign in with Apple. No ads, no tracking.

Quarters is the house, handled.

QUARTERS PRO
One roommate subscribes, the whole house gets Pro: rotations without a cap (free stops at three), room for more than five roommates, house history that never ages out (free keeps 60 days), AI board setup at 10 drafts a day instead of 3 a month, and receipt scanning at 30 a day instead of 5 a month.

Auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly; price shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account; the subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings.

### 1.3.19 — 2026-09-30

A few small corrections.

Bill status lines read the way the rest of the app does: “Due in 2 days,” not “Due In 2 Days.”

When you settle up, the button says it’s done while the paid stamp lands, instead of still looking busy.

The mug on Today’s “All quiet” card keeps its steam where it belongs.

### 1.3.18 — 2026-09-29

Bringing the house together is clearer. Today shows when your invite link is ready, and after a roommate joins, it offers a first shared bill or chore.

For bills that change month to month, choose “Review each month.” The next amount waits for your review before it becomes payable, with the previous amount there for context. Fixed monthly bills continue to work as before.

### 1.3.14 — 2026-09-21

A finished chore stays finished.

If your connection dropped while a chore was sending its photo, Quarters could take the tap, turn the ring, and then quietly lose the whole thing — the photo would already be on the server and the chore would still say pending. It said so for six seconds, on a screen you'd usually already left.

Your phone now keeps its own record of a turn you finished and completes it as soon as it can reach the house again, even if the app was closed in between. It reuses the photo it already sent instead of asking you to take another one. If it genuinely can't finish, it tells you on the board and stays there until you've read it.

### 1.3.13 — 2026-09-08

The house fills up.

Today and the House tab now draw your house with one window lit for each roommate, in their colour. When somebody moves in, their window comes on, a card says so, and everyone else gets a notification — the first thing this app has ever sent about a person arriving. You can turn it off under Roommates in notification settings.

Inviting someone is one link. It used to hand out a code and a house password and an approval step; now it texts a link that admits them on the first tap, and the card on Today knows whether your invite is still out and when it runs out. If you type a code instead, the screen tells you which house it opens and how many people are already there before you commit — never their names.

Nudging a roommate is a swipe. The Chores board used to carry a Nudge button on every overdue row that wasn't yours, which is a wall of buttons on a screen that exists so nobody has to be the nag. Swipe the row instead. Only your own overdue turn is marked in clay now; everyone else's date sits quietly in ink.

Standings stopped keeping score. No crown, no ranking, no leaderboard — a fair-share reading and a chore debt, and nothing at all if you live alone.

Finishing a chore turns the ring on the card, so you can watch the turn pass to the next person. Balances count from one figure to the next instead of jumping. The week's recap actually fires when your house goes all square.

And the first minute is better: a bigger house on the welcome screen, a preview of what you're signing up for, a progress bar that counts from one, and a join button that no longer hides under the keyboard. Disabled buttons are legible in dark mode, and two colours that used to blur together at night are apart again.
