## What is Quasarball?

Quasarball is a remake of MegaBall, Ed Mackey's brick breaker for the Amiga. The MegaBall source was released under the Apache-2.0 license in 2012, and this game is built on it.

The physics, bricks, power-ups and scoring work the way they did in the original, and the original boards are here: seven sets, 249 boards. You can play them in the old 320x200 pixel look, or on 3D boards that tilt and turn while the ball is in play. The MegaBall sets start in the pixel look, and Settings lets you change that.

Bricks drop power-ups when they break, and you catch them with the paddle. Lasers and a sticky paddle help. A narrower paddle doesn't. Gravity and magnetism bend the ball's path, which takes some getting used to, and quicksand lowers the bricks. The Guide screen explains all 14.

We also made a new set called Quasar, with four bricks MegaBall never had. Prism is a diagonal mirror that never breaks. Phase bricks switch between two colors, and only one of them is solid at a time. A Singularity pulls in a ball that passes close. Strata bricks have another brick inside.

Two players can take turns on the same device. You can play with touch, a keyboard or a game controller, and the hints on screen follow whichever you used last.

Every set keeps its own high scores. There are no ads or in-app purchases, you don't need an account, and the game doesn't go online.

Quasarball is made by Quail Egg Games. MegaBall was written by Ed Mackey and Al Mackey, and their license and credits are in the game under Credits.
