### 4/5 — Challenging Game

*2023-03-14*

I have been playing this game for several months now. It’s generally very challenging, which means I actually learn new facts as I play. I like that you can choose your strongest categories before starting a game. By choosing carefully, you can give yourself a strategic advantage by controlling the order in which the categories come up. The only thing I don’t love is the scoring, which I still find a little confusing. If you like trivia games, this is definitely worth a try.

I have been playing this game for about a month. I really enjoy the games. The questions are not super hard but some are challenging. You do not have to pay money to play. There are practice rounds that are FREE except for Z points, which do not have to be purchased.

### 5/5 — Recommend this game

*2021-08-21*

I find myself playing this game and all the other games on Skillz. They are so addicting and fun. I lose some and win some.

### 5/5 — Fun & competitive

*2021-08-16*

I truly enjoy this game. It’s one of my favorites on the Skillz platform. The competition is challenging, and that makes each win meaningful and satisfying. The only complaint that I have is more about the Skillz platform rather than this game specifically, and that is when there isn’t an immediate match when playing a cash game, sometimes your money is tied up for days with no challenger having been matched up with that game so the outcome can be decided. At times, because of the matches I play while a good portion of my money is tied up just sitting there, it becomes obvious that my opponent in a later game could have been matched up with the game I started 3 days ago. Sometimes it seems that the system is waiting for a score that would beat mine so I don’t build up a sum from winnings, which I would inevitably request to be withdrawn. I sincerely hope that this is not the case. The fact is, though, that they make more money if everyone gradually loses the money that is in their cash accounts. They already make money through the vig that they earn on every cash game.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bad questions

*2021-05-18, version 1.29*

There needs to be a way to report questions for review that have wrong answers.

### 1/5 — Terrible Questions

*2019-10-28, version 1.24*

With question topics like “Mountains,” “Name the Author,” (for books and authors you’ve NEVER heard of), and “Country Music,” (no I don’t know who won a music award I have never heard of over 10 years ago), you’re sure to “love” this garbage game with garbage questions.

This game has the worst trivia questions I’ve ever seen. Don’t bother with this utter trash.

### 2/5 — Fun game, scammy company

*2020-12-22, version 1.28*

This game is fun, it if you are playing in tournaments for money, it’s nearly impossible to come out not down in money. Here’s why:

The company uses Bonus Cash to incentivize a cash deposit, but it cannot be withdrawn. That seems fair, until you realize that it offsets your cash prize amount and that Skillz uses much of your Bonus Cash for payouts and takes your real cash. In tournaments, you are paired up with someone on par with your skill level, so you should expect to lose almost as much as you’ll win. It should of course be expected that in order to win any cash, you have to win more than you lose, but due to the use of Bonus Cash as mentioned above, it becomes nearly impossible to actually come away with any cash.

To be honest, I understood the model to work this way when I signed up but enjoyed the game and didn’t invest much money in it, so I didn’t care; I saw it as paying for entertainment. I knew I wouldn’t come away with winnings. That all changed recently.

I played this game for several year, but got a new phone and accidentally signed up for another account when I tried to sign in. I use the same email address for most things and thought that was what I had used initially to sign up for my QuestionCube/Skillz account, but it turns out I had actually used an old email address years ago when I had signed up.

I reached out to support to ask for help closing the new account. Instead, they referenced their T&Cs and told me I was cheating by having two accounts. In the same breath, they admitted that most people don’t even realize they have two accounts. Seems a bit contradictory right?

They immediately closed my first account, the one where I had accumulated tons of rewards and put lots of money into. They refuse to fix the situation and just continue to reference their T&Cs. It seems scammy since my second account would’ve been the offending one but they chose to remove the first one, so they are actually breaking their own T&Cs by keeping the second account open and closing the first. Again, very suspect of them.

Regardless of the T&Cs, this is just poor business practice. Understanding this was an accident and myself reaching out to support should be enough to do the right thing, but they clearly don’t care about their long-time customers. On top of that as mentioned, they closed the original account rather than the offending one, so either they are breaking their own rules or their support rep messed up and they refuse to make it right.

Just stay away, or at least just don’t spend real money with them. It made it more exciting for me even though this is essentially a scam, but it’s not worth it when the company screws you out of it.

### 2/5 — Fun game - ashame Skillz is involved

*2019-04-05*

This is a really fun game & the questions range from super hard to pretty easy so u always stand a chance at winning.

I feel bad for the developers tho. Skillz gets such a bad name that no doubt more ppl would play if they weren’t involved. Ive played several Skillz games and in each one I am blown away by how such a blatantly rigged system can continue to operate without anyone challenging their ways. If u look at pretty much any player who plays cash tournaments & look at the little chart at the bottom of the page it will show a win/lose ration of 1:1 (or 50% or exactly half) most of the time. Sure it’s not always spot on but if u looked at 100 players I would bet $$ that I’d find this 1:1 pattern of win:lose 85% of the time or more! And u will usually see a pattern like this: win, lose, win, lose, etc. I get that they have a way to match similarly skilled players with one another but when almost every player is winning & losing equally & u can literally predict the patterns of wins/losses than something else is going on. You only win back 40% of the entry cost anyway so u would have to win 60% of all ur games in order to break even (more so to actually make a profit!). Basically Skillz makes this impossible bc they don’t want anyone to withdraws any money.

It was pretty obvious that I was being paired against players who had already played the round & who’s scores were higher than main rather then being paired randomly. Anytime I entered a torney & saw that there was not Yet an assigned player I pretty much knew I could expect to lose that match. And for some strange reason there is a back button on the free games but not on the pro games so that if I see thagbim not yet matched with someone in a pro match I can’t backout of the torney. It’s all a bunch of bs & I wish developers would read some reviews of Skillz games before getting involved with them bc I don’t doubt that a lot more ppl would play if Skillz wasn’t attached. I’ve seen sooo many ppl quit bc if their shady ways.

### 2/5 — Why take my payment??

*2019-03-31, version 1.23*

I decided to spend $10 and try playing for money. No problem paying the money. As soon as I tried to play, game said there aren’t any tournaments in my area. Why did you accept my money then????

### 2/5 — Great game apps BUT....

*2018-10-03*

If your into these sort of game apps and are doing it just for fun then these will be for you. As far as the currency goes where do I begin when you purchase the 10$ dollars deal you get 10 $dollars back BUT these can only be used within the skillz games app and do not count or CANT withdraw them as real cash unless converted to real cash which you have to play in tournaments (BEWARE before purchase the deals for example $10 and you get $10 bonus in tournaments you play for example a 1$ game they’ll take half of your real cash and bonus cash combined :( Also what else can I say about the player system where you’re match setups are placed. I’ve read before the other reviews and it seem they had some difficulty but from what I’ve experienced in one of these skillz game app you get set up with players who haves played and are playing saved games from those people who played and in which case they placed a VERY good score which kinda brings you down. LAST my personal advice these guys don’t respond back in the game apps. READ before making online purchase. This was my first online game review app so sorry for so long.

### 3/5 — Gambling

*2024-08-01, version 1.31*

Forcing people to pay to play for cash makes it gambling which isn’t legal in a lot of states I suggest making some of the Z entry ones pay in cash as well so those with no money can play the money games

### 3/5 — 50/50

*2021-02-25*

The games are fun, but, trying to login with an existing skillz account is like beating your head off a wall.
It’s a circle, you follow the steps just like any other game and it doesn’t recognize you. 10 attempts and 3 messages to their “ support “
Center, you are directed right back where you started. As far as getting paid... nah...

### 4/5 — Fun!
