It would be a great addition to be have some batch operations. The two that come to mind are multiple export (select multiple; export as a single item or series of items) and/or merge within Capture (select multiple items and create one Capture item.) ### 4/5 — sidebar can’t be sorted *2026-02-15* Lots to love here. But if you use Capture a lot and organize your captures with lists, be aware that sorting the lists in the sidebar is nearly impossible. It doesn’t do it automatically, and the manual sort is very buggy and breaks constantly. What you’re left with is a very messy sidebar. Generally the app has a few rough edges, but the core functionality is awesome. ### 4/5 — sidebar can’t be sorted *2026-01-27* Lots to love here. But if you use Capture a lot and organize your captures with lists, be aware that sorting the lists in the sidebar is nearly impossible. It doesn’t do it automatically, and responds erratically to dragging the lists manually to sort. While I was not specifically searching for a replacement, I was looking for something that offers improved functionality, flow, and organization, and this app achieves that in numerous ways. It is likely to replace several other applications on my phone that I use solely for data storage and organization. ### 5/5 — Second Brain *2025-11-27* I’ve been looking for an app to use as my second brain, to remember and recall. It’s quick, easy, but can also be as powerful as you need it to be. ### 5/5 — Feature-rich yet Minimalistic *2025-09-26* I've been following this app for a while, and its progression of updates is very enticing. It resembles a messaging app, but for notes. Similar apps lean more towards a texting or timeline vibe. Despite its beautiful and simple interface, I most enjoy its attachment and photo features. Attachments are uncommon in note-messenger apps, and so is the ability to add/resave original resolution photos. Requests - I would prefer to view and live-edit notes already expanded. I don't want to open a quick note to edit. But adding an additional setting may be preferred for other users. - Themes. I would love a black/white version. - The ability to share to Supernotes and Tasks. Thank you for your consideration. ### 5/5 — Zero friction for capture *2025-09-10* It’s been a long time since an app delighted me like this. I have the shortcut triggered by the action button on my phone and it is so smooth. And the one click routing is just as good. I would give it 6 stars if I could. ### 5/5 — Daily Essential App *2025-08-31* I’ve been using this app for a while now and I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations. Everything about it feels well thought-out, from the smooth performance to the clean, easy-to-navigate design. It doesn’t overwhelm you with unnecessary features or clutter — instead, it focuses on what matters and does that exceptionally well. Because of that, it’s become something I rely on daily. What I appreciate most is how consistent it is. No random glitches, no frustrating slowdowns, just a solid experience every time I open it. It’s clear that the developers care about the user experience because the little details are done right, and that makes a big difference. The only thing I find myself wishing for is an Apple Watch app. Having the same functionality available on my wrist would take this from great to perfect. Hopefully that’s something that comes in a future update, because it would really round out the whole experience. All in all, this is easily one of the best apps I’ve downloaded in a long time. Highly recommended! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Defective JUNK *2026-02-25* Yes, the idea is great, and the setup looks nice. BUT, IT DOES NOT WORK. Most notably, yesterday I created one new note, where I saved a very long email draft, that I intended to reflect on today and edit before sending. Next I edited an old note to add in a list of "priority tasks" on the given project. Yes, I saved both notes. Yes, I even left the Quick Notes capture app open in the background overnight, putting my phone to sleep, not turning it off. This morning? GONE!!! Yes, the email-note "folder" still existed, BUT IT WAS COMPLETELY BLANK!!!!! And the "priorities list" also COMPLETELY VANISHED!! That was approximately two hours of work that this DEFECTIVE, FRAUDULENT APP just wiped from existence! Not to mention the additional two hours--and five thousand tons of stress--that I will now need to deal with to rewrite the email draft and priority listing... Definitely moving on to another app THAT IS NOT SO ILLEGALLY DEFECTIVE. ### 1/5 — Here’s your review! *2026-01-03, version 2.6* LEAVE ME ALONE I DON’T WANT TO REVIEW YOUR APP STOP PESTERING ME. Not a bad app, but you will be constantly pestered for a review. Well here it freaking is. ### 1/5 — Deleted or Didn’t Save my field notes for work *2025-12-17, version 2.4.3* Opened the app quick from lockscreen widget. Typed out some important long notes I needed to have on hand, saved the notes, next time I got back in the app only the first line or title of the note remained, everything else: gone. I clicked “NOT NOW” and I meant it. ### 1/5 — Mac app seems non-functional *2025-07-30* I type some text into the little “Capture something” box, hit return, and it simply disappears. The same exact workflow works just fine on the iOS version, but not here. ### 2/5 — MacOS App Crashing a lot *2024-09-21, version 1.11.1* The MacOS App keeps crashing everytime I hit the Enter key when creating a new capture note ### 3/5 — limited organization options *2026-06-29* Capture is good for (as the name says) capturing URLs, bits of text, etc. But if you’re looking to *keep* things in Capture, the options for organizing your captures are rudimentary. Captures are organized into lists instead of a more modern approach of using tags — so each capture can belong to one list at a time. Interacting with the app is still fairly rough. Dragging captures from the Inbox to a list sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. Option-dragging captures shows the cursor “+” icon indicating they’re being duplicated, but they are moved instead. Frankly, the design feels like it was done for iOS/iPad OS and the Mac is an afterthought. Ultimately I think Capture is designed as a waypoint, not an end destination, which is kind of a shame. ### 3/5 — Great at Capture, Limited with Export + other options *2026-03-22* Absolutely love the capture experience. For this to be my 5-star goto capture app, however, I would need options to export and/or merge multiple entries, and also more keyboard shortcuts for the macOS version (or at least menu commands I could hook into). As it is, I’ll need to switch to Drafts, Notes, or something else. ### 3/5 — Has potential *2025-04-07* The process of capturing easily is great. The app itself needs better typography options. The current default is a massive font and half the screen taken up with export options. The experience feels like a clearing house rather than a primary app. Additionally, it would be great to have tags for organization. Sadly also crashes a lot. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — First Impressions *2026-08-22* I haven’t used the app for very long but my first impressions are so far pretty solid. Clean, uncluttered and pleasant to use. I have an issue with being able to keep up with my thoughts as well as accessing my memories at the right time, there’s simply too much going on, I’m torrentially flooded with responsibilities as well as fleeting creative ideas that I have learned the hard way are just too valuable not to ensure that I’m not wasting money, neglecting responsibility and taking for granted the gifts that are given in between thoughts -in the liminal spaces, those creative ideas that seem to flow in from who knows where but, they feel familiar, like truth when it slaps you upside your head, I often think it feels like an older wiser me, I’m not sure what that means or how that works, nevertheless I am grateful I learned to quiet the mind and listen in the liminal. So far this App has begun the process of solving my problem and so far it’s doing wonderful at it. I’m not sure if their are features that allow you to change the Text formatting or add tags or colors or badges etc during the process of entering your thought, if so that’s wonderful if not, maybe it could be an option if the Dev settles on the idea that there’s a way to implement this idea without negatively effecting the balance the Dev clearly has worked very hard to achieve and is no easy feat I’m sure and that brings this review to a close, so I say to you the Developer(s); thank you for your efforts and your labor of love. Post Script, I’ll turn to finish the review properly in due course. ### 5/5 — Needs tags *2026-07-22* This app is excellent for capturing things as you go through your day. What it’s less good at is organizing the captures you’ve made. Items can only belong to one folder at a time, versus having a system of tags. It’s also not possible to even copy things from one folder to the other. ### 5/5 — My brain *2026-07-07* This is one of the few apps I bought as a lifetime purchase. I have mine bound to my action button, so one press and I can capture the note. It's the lowest friction note taking app I've ever used. Everything goes into an inbox where you can archive and sort. Using it is as easy as the action button or launch, then hitting paste and enter. You can do more, but it's responsive to the bare minimum. For my particular cognition, it's been a life saver. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2026-07-04* Every single devices should come preloaded with this app. Imagine quick note with a smart share sheet and auto archive feature. I just which the app supported scrivener, and Freeform. I am not sure how Freeform integration would work exactly but I wish I could send certain files to a particular Freeform instance with one click. ### 5/5 — My New Favorite Reference App!!!! *2026-06-17* I use it as a catchall. I used to struggle with the management of life’s snippets: a clam I’d like to look up, the fact that I’d like to have kebabs at some point this summer, the name of a photographer whose work I’d like to look into more, the idea for the next chapter of my book, all have a home in Capture. Having somewhere to put the snippets also makes it more possible for me to adopt a note-taking app, most aren’t really set up for the “next step” of a note, where Capture serves as a repository and lets you send the note to its next destination, whether that’s sending your chapter idea to your word processor or setting a calendar event to get those kebabs with a friend. It just needs the ability to export whole lists or specific captures in bulk to be perfect. I’m incredibly happy with and excited by this app. ### 5/5 — Amazing Amazing Amazing!! *2026-03-10* I love this app so much. I used to just text myself links to videos I liked because I don’t use the things like YouTube’s “watch later” but this app solves all my problems and the ability to quickly categorize it right from the share page is just so satisfying. I can not only store my favorite videos in the app but I can sort them too and have multiple folders. I bought the lifetime license because I hate subscriptions. Worth every penny. ### 5/5 — FINALLY A NOTES APP THAT GETS IT! *2026-01-27* Dude, yes. This is what I’ve been searching for 2+ years for. A note taking app that just gets it. No less, no more. Prioritizes simple idea capture with minimal friction and distractions. Does not try to be your “all in one productivity life system”. Just does a simple function for a simple lifetime price. Simple but still designed well. Does not compromise on the UI by making an overall low quality app. But also does not throw in excessive over the top features that kill the entire purpose of the app in the first place. Kudos to you, developer! ### 5/5 — amazing app perfect fit for iPhone *2026-01-22* this app is great with so much going on every day and so much information and things being shown on our screens every day, it’s hard to keep track of or messy to keep taps of everything you want to save those shoes. I like that restaurant I wanna try out that place I wanna visit that website that can be helpful for that, etc.. It’s great because you can organize it all in this app and referred back to it later. It has been a game changer for me.
