Problem is; when you attempt to do much of anything, it says it’s only available in the full version and offers a pop up with a solid blue button that should allow you to make the purchase. But does nothing when attempting to push it. I’ve attempted to notify Apple and the developer. But the link to the developer’s website for support, is only a page that simply says "QuickText support". That’s all that’s there. Just the text. No support. In the end; it’s just a crippled editor, with no means of upgrade, or support. Very disappointed. ☹️ ### 4/5 — Just a few updates from my *2023-06-20* I have a lot of going back ### 4/5 — Lets me open text files with unknown extensions *2022-10-24, version 2.6.1* Other popular plaintext editors don't let me open files with extensions like .sql for instance. I would wish for a way to disable line wrapping though. I've just contacted the dev about it. ### 3/5 — Editor only *2021-03-16, version 2.2.9* Just a note that this is not useful as a file viewer since it annoyingly changes the timestamp when opening a file with no edits. It also locks after opening five files whether you edit them or not. ### 3/5 — Eh, barely good enough *2021-02-04, version 2.2.8* Tapping at the end of a line puts the cursor after the second character on the taped line. This should put the cursor at the end of the line. It’s frustrating. Also was not clear how to save document opened from icloud. Figured out that it saves for you,but there’s no menu or feedback which makes it hard to understand what it’s doing. **Developer response:** Sorry for your inconvenience. I'll check and fix the problem as soon as possible. ### 4/5 — Almost perfect! *2020-08-20, version 2.2.0* This app is just about perfect for what it’s supposed to do. The only thing missing is a find function for searching within documents. That, and there are a few little bugs here and there — the notch on my iPhone 11 covers the text, and the font menu is all white (can’t read it) when you choose a dark theme. I get an error message whenever I try to open any file that is showing in the app. I wish they had written explanations of how to use the app besides the demo. The demo would be great if it opened. ### 5/5 — Excellent App. *2019-05-27, version 2.0* I’m a big fan of TextRobo. It has simplicity such that it does not get in the way of productivity with bloated features. However, it does have what I think are the essentials — cloud syncing, reliability, etc. Worth it to get some extra themes in the mix as well. I think it’s important to support the strong work of the app developer, Reo. ### 3/5 — Used to be better *2019-05-22, version 2.0* Used to be able to pull down from edit area to hide the keyboard, save, and sync back to cloud. Now, pull down didn’t hide the keyboard, and very hard to get the top menu to show to save. After saving, the note became local note and didn’t sync back to cloud. I need to manually save back to cloud. This is no good. You’re screwed. No undo function. Without them the app is no more useful than Apple’s “Notes.” I purchased this for an iPhone 12x Pro Max, iOS 16.1. Oh, go ahead and hit the “Support” button and see what you get. A blank web page. I’d highly suggest not wasting a penny on this app. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2022-07-01, version 2.5.3* I paid for the full version, but I get an error message whenever I try to open a document not created in the app. This app serves me absolutely no purpose and was a waste of money. When I try to open today, I am locked out. I get a notice about being limited to 5 file a week and a suggestion to upgrade. I opened a work file and the file would open properly but then the text size would change and none of the Text formatting and data would line up anymore. I tried playing with some settings to see it this would work for what I need but before I even started reading the file the app informed me that I had reached the limit for the number of edits per WEEK?!?!?! 5 file edits in a week didn’t even let me see if I would like to buy the pro version. It stopped working before I could even try it. I opened the exact same file 5 times trying to get the font size correct and it shut down. Don’t waste your time. While this is probably a good app the shortsighted developers made it totally useless because they wanted paid and didn’t give me a long enough time to try the app before making it totally useless. I will be removing this app because without paying more I can’t use it for an entire WEEK not an hour or a day an entire F****** WEEK! What a piece of S*** ### 1/5 — Mediocre *2021-01-30, version 2.2.8* Less than thrilling. You can use it for a little while but eventually it just puts a paywall in front of you and there’s nothing left to do. I must have tried about 10 different ones and they all had some major failings. However, QuickText did exactly what it said it would do! I’m very pleased and I just bought the Pro version to continue to provide developer support. I would love to see search/find functionality added at some point. This simple lightweight app gives me a way to read and mark them up. When I first tried it, I couldn’t open some files. I contacted the author and he responded. I sent him an example, he found the problem and fixed it in 2 days.
