## What is Quietra?

One app, two quiet superpowers: masking sound tuned to the pitch of your tinnitus, and sound engineered for focus. Pick your side on the first screen.

FOCUS MODE
Eight modes built on published research, each labeled with its evidence level, honestly:
- Focus and Deep Focus: a gentle 12-20 Hz pulse woven into the sound, the approach validated on tens of thousands of listeners
- Study: a beta-band pair for memorizing
- Creative: an alpha pulse for idea generation
- Calm: a theta binaural pair to settle down
- Recover: pure nature for breaks
- Gamma 40 Hz: the lab-stage vigilance mode
- Wind Down: slow swells to drift off
A pomodoro timer runs the session and the sound follows it: easing into breaks, returning for the next round. A six-question check tunes the defaults to your attention style.

GENERATIVE SOUND, SHAPED TO YOU
Deep Techno, Drum & Bass, Lo-fi beats and Drone are synthesized live on your device: your session never sounds the same twice. Noise colors and real nature recordings round out the library. The sound adapts to your room (a 2-second listen sets the level), to your hearing (your AirPods hearing test from Health), to your pulse and last night's sleep from your tracker, to the time of day, and, if you like, to the weather outside your window.

TINNITUS MASKING
A gentle 2-minute guide finds the pitch of your ring, per ear if you like, then fills the silence with sound tuned to that exact spot. Notched masking softens the sound right around your ring so it can step into the background.

PLAYS ALL NIGHT
The sound keeps going when your screen locks, when a call comes in, and when you switch to AirPods. A sleep timer fades it out on its own, so it's easy on your battery.

FREE

HONEST BY DESIGN
No accounts. No ads. Your journal, your check-ins, your audiogram and your tuned pitch stay on your device. Health data is read only to shape the sound and never leaves your iPhone.

Quietra is a wellness tool for comfort, rest and concentration. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional care. Focus modes are labeled by their evidence level; they are wellness features, not medical care.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.3 — 2026-10-06

An updated App Store page. Nothing in the app itself has changed.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-09-22

A gentler way to tell us how it's going.

- When Quietra has been helping, it now asks one question first: is it helping? A yes brings up the App Store rating. A no goes straight to support, where it belongs.
- That question waits until you're back in the app, instead of firing while your phone is locked overnight.
- You can rate Quietra any time from Settings.

As always: no accounts, no ads.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-17

Small improvements under the hood.

- We now see which screens and buttons get used, anonymously, so we can smooth out the places where people get stuck. Your ring, journal entries and check-in answers still never leave your device.
- If Quietra has been helping, it may ask once for a rating: after a finished session, a quiet day in your journal, or a better monthly check-in. Never more than once every few months.

As always: no accounts, no ads.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-15

A new welcome, and a clearer deal.

- The intro now shows what the sound actually does, the research it rests on (with the papers named), and everything inside the app, before asking you anything.
- Premium is explained once, up front, and you can walk past it. Nothing you could use before is locked now.
- New Weekly plan, for trying Premium without a long commitment.
- Focus sessions now tell you when a round or a break ends: a banner and a tap on the wrist while the app is open, a notification under the lock screen. The sound alone was too easy to miss.
- Small fixes to the paywall so every plan and its price sit on one screen.

As always: no accounts, no ads, and your ring, journal and check-ins stay on your device.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-21

Quietra 1.1 is a second product's worth of new: Focus mode.

- Two tabs on the home screen, Focus and Masking. Pick your side.
- Eight focus modes built on published research, each labeled with its evidence level: Focus, Deep Focus, Study, Creative, Calm, Recover, Gamma 40 Hz and Wind Down.
- A pomodoro timer with adaptive sound: it softens into breaks and eases back in for the next round.
- Generative music, synthesized live on your device: Deep Techno, Drum & Bass, Lo-fi beats and Drone. Never the same track twice.
- The sound now adapts to you: your room's noise, your AirPods hearing test, your pulse and sleep from Health, the time of day, even the weather outside your window. Everything is opt-in and explained in Settings.
- New onboarding: tell us what brought you here and start there. No tinnitus required.
- New: Lifetime. Pay once, Premium forever.

And if you're here for the quiet: everything you already use is right where it was, one tab over.
