## What is Quill?

Quill is a voice notes app that records on your iPhone and turns speech into text on the spot.
Recording and transcription happen entirely on the device. There is no account, and your audio and text are never uploaded to a server.

■ Words appear as you speak
With Apple Speech, Quill transcribes while you record.

■ On-device models for more accuracy
Choose Whisper, Qwen3-ASR, or Gemma. Once downloaded, they transcribe without an internet connection. Available models depend on your iPhone's memory.

■ Control recording from the Lock Screen
A Live Activity shows the recording time and lets you pause, resume, or stop. Recording keeps going when the screen is off or you switch apps.

■ Audio and transcript in one note
Listen again, fix the transcript, and share it right away. Search to find past notes quickly.

■ Privacy
Quill collects no data. It uses the internet only to download transcription models, and your recordings and transcripts never leave the device.
