## What is Quill?

A cosy place for the books you already have. Open a PDF, an EPUB, a CBZ comic or a plain text file, tap to translate the page into your language, and listen to it read aloud in that voice. One lifetime price. Everything on your device.

Translate the page, not just a word. Tap the globe and the whole page reflows into your language, powered by the Apple Translation framework. The chunked translator keeps the rest of the book flowing in while you read the first chapter.

Listen in the right voice. Press play and the page reads itself aloud. When a translation is on, Listen speaks in the target locale automatically, so a French page sounds French. Speed chips from 0.75x to 2x, sleep timer, background audio, AirPods controls, Now Playing on the lock screen.

Bring your own files, cosily. Add books from Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, a share sheet, a direct download link or a scanned page. Each file is fingerprinted on import so the same book never lands twice.

Six warm themes and eight type presets. Paper, Sepia, Dark Sepia, Night, Solar and a pure Snow mode. Type ramps from Readwise Cream to Atkinson Hyperlegible to OpenDyslexic. Slider control for size, line height and margin. Optional paper texture overlay.

A quiet journey, not a streak whip. A day-streak ring that celebrates the evening you showed up, a pages-this-week chart with a gentle goal line, finish ETA on whatever you are reading, and a yearly keepsake you can share. The streak is encouragement, never a stick.

Privacy that is not a marketing word. Your library never leaves your device. There is no account, no analytics linked to you, no advertising, no DRM, no required cloud. Optional iCloud sync is off by default. Uninstall the app and the files you imported are still yours.

About the price. Quill is one lifetime purchase. There is no subscription tier and there will not be one. When v2 ships it will be a separate purchase and v1 will keep working with every update it received. This is a public promise.
