## What is Quillow?

Quillow is a cozy, private diary that feels like a real paper notebook — cream pages, a soft serif hand, a cover you open like a ritual. No setup, no account, no clutter: open it and write.

It's built on one quiet idea: a diary should be yours alone. Nothing you write ever leaves your device. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no trackers, no analytics. If you want your diary on more than one device, turn on iCloud sync — it travels only through your own private iCloud, where even we can't see it.

WRITE, SIMPLY
Open to today and start writing. The text sits on the ruled page and flows around anything you add. Gentle prompts wait on an empty page when you're not sure how to begin — never a nag.

MAKE IT A MEMORY, NOT JUST TEXT
- Photos on the page as polaroids, film frames, washi tape, stamps or album corners
- Short videos and round video notes
- Voice notes in your own voice
- A song of the day, with a 30-second preview
- Little drawings, right on the paper
- A mood for the day, if you feel like marking it
- Where you spent the day, on a paper world map

NEW: SECTIONS FOR WHAT YOU LOVE
Tabs on the edge of the page open sections beside your diary:
- Movies and Books — what you watched and read, with stars, a cover and a few words
- Places — the cafés, cities and corners that stayed with you
- People — a photo, who they are to you, a birthday, and what they mean to you
Movies, Books and Places also keep a "want to" list: want to watch, want to read, want to go.

TRIPS, TOLD AS STORIES
When your days were spent in another country, Quillow offers to keep them as a trip. Press play and relive it as a little story, with its places, photos and songs.

KEEP IT YOURS
- Lock with Face ID / Touch ID, or a private Quillow passcode with a recovery code
- Everything stored on device; optional, private iCloud sync
- Export a backup any time — an ordinary zip, with your photos and recordings as plain files

QUIET RITUALS, NOT DARK PATTERNS
No streaks that punish you, no endless feed, no likes. Quillow brings you back through meaning: a weekly look-back, a personal retrospective after your first month, time capsules you write to your future self.

MAKE IT FEEL LIKE HOME
Choose your paper, cover, font and ruling (lines, dots or blank), and a gentle atmosphere — rain, fireflies, falling leaves. Warm by day, easy on the eyes at night. Available in English, Spanish, French, Finnish, Ukrainian and Russian.

Quillow is for your real life — the small moments, the honest ones. A calm corner that's only yours.

Quillow Plus is optional: a monthly or yearly subscription (the first week is free) or a one-time purchase. It adds all themes, fonts and atmospheres, trips, every section and up to five notebooks; without it, one section of your choice is free. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage them in your Apple Account settings. If Plus ends, nothing you've already chosen or created is taken away.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.0 — 2026-10-07

Quillow 3.0 — your diary gets neighbours.

Sections: tabs on the edge of the page open Movies, Books, Places and People. Keep what you watched and read with stars and a cover, the places that stayed with you, and the people who matter — with a photo, a birthday and a few words. Movies, Books and Places also keep a "want to" list. One section is free; Plus opens them all.

Trips the days tell: when your days were spent in another country, Quillow offers to save them as a trip in one tap. Trips can now be deleted from the list.

The map is now a tab of its own. Countries and cities can be deleted right from My places, and pinch-zoom stays where your fingers are.

New photo frames: washi tape, a stamp and album corners.

Seasons: leaves falling on the page — free for everyone until 30 November.

Also: a short welcome for new diaries, a small guide the first time you draw, and safer iCloud sync — if sync pauses, Settings says so, and if two devices write the same day offline, the other version is kept for you.

### 2.5 — 2026-10-01

Quillow now speaks Spanish.
An example diary: tap the date on an empty page and look through a whole invented month — photos, a map, a trip to Paris told as a little story with music, a month in review. Try any paper on it. Nothing there is saved.
The map got easier to wander: search finds your own places first, then countries, and flies straight to them. A new list gathers all your places — by country, by city, by day — filtered by been, lived or want to go.
Settings are tidier: Appearance and Media have pages of their own. And at the bottom, a way to write to me — ideas and bugs are always welcome.
Quillow Plus is clearer: choose a plan, and see exactly what you pay, and when.

### 2.4 — 2026-09-30

A map of your places. Note where a day was spent, and watch your world fill in on a paper map — countries you've been to, lived in, or want to see. City search uses Apple Maps: only the name you type leaves your device, never your writing.
Trips: gather a stretch of days into one chapter, then play it back as a little story of photos, places and a line from each day. Trips come with Quillow Plus.
A blank page: in Settings → Ruling, paper with no lines at all.
Calendar videos no longer pause your music. On the Mac, bold is lighter and the map zooms with the mouse wheel.

### 2.3 — 2026-09-29

Atmospheres across the page: rain, fireflies, dandelions and stars, always behind your words. Rain is free; the rest come with Quillow Plus.
Formatting: a heading, bold, italic, strikethrough, underline, ink colours and a highlighter — select some words and choose. A heading, bold, italic, one colour and one highlighter are free.
Earlier Records, in Settings → Backup: every earlier text of a day this device kept, one tap to bring it back — the text that was there stays too.
Days now stay on their dates when you cross time zones. Choosing a version in Recover no longer removes the other one.
New diaries start in Noteworthy. Noteworthy and New York are free hands.

### 2.2 — 2026-09-28

Quillow Plus: all themes, all fonts and up to five notebooks — by the month, by the year, or once and for good. If you were writing with Quillow before this update, Plus is already yours, as a thank-you.
The calendar now opens as pages of the notebook: every written day as a card or a square, with videos that come alive as you scroll.
