### 2/5 — Too limited.

*2024-03-10*

Great idea but too limited. I’m doing a brick pattern and there’s no way to see that layout. Also pretty hard to figure out step by step. This should be free until it’s better.

### 3/5 — Love/hate

*2023-11-06*

I love the ability to use photos of my fabrics but need the ability to scale them. Also need to be able to go larger than 9 columns/rows. Ability to rotate blocks is also needed. So it leaves me loving and hating the app. So close yet so far from where if like it to be. Really hoping to see updates with some improvements!

### 4/5 — Love this app! Please make the Companion app available for the iPhone!

*2022-05-02*

I’ve been using the Quilt Wizard app and the Quilt Wizard Companion app almost as long as I’ve been quilting, which is about 7 years. I use the apps exclusively on my iPad because the Companion app is only available for iPad, and I use them all the time! That being said, please release the Quilt Wizard Companion app for the iPhone in addition to the iPad. It would be amazing to have both apps on both devices. There are many times that I want to work on a quilt design but I don’t have my iPad, and unfortunately the Quilt Wizard doesn’t have the block design I need. So I have to wait to do anything. Please release the Companion app for the iPhone! I think it would make a lot of people very happy!

### 4/5 — Almost perfect!

*2022-01-12*

This is a remarkably good app. The level of customisation is brilliant compared to other similar apps I've tried. The ability to photograph my fabric collection and then be able to see that fabric arranged as a quilt makes planning a project much simpler - though be warned, make sure you take the time to adjust the photos so that the colour and lighting genuinely matches reality, or else you could spend hours on a design only to find out that the colours you chose don’t actually go together as well as they did on the screen. One thing that you need to know is that there is a companion app that goes with this one - Quilt Wizard Companion I think it’s called - that lets you create and install your own blocks. The block library included in Quilt Wizard is really good, but realising that I could make my own was a real game changer. The only reason the app doesn’t get a perfect score is just that the controls are a little clunky and unintuitive, and it lacks some features that I really think would improve the experience - but overall it’s a great app, and honestly I don’t think I would enjoy quilting nearly as much without it. Thank you!

### 2/5 — Could be better/Buggy

*2021-03-22*

I’m not able to save the images to my photo library. When I try, the app crashes and closes out. So frustrating. I end up taking screenshots but I lose image quality.

Sometimes I want to make a similar quilt and change the fabric or a couple of blocks. I’d like to save multiple versions. It would be nice to copy a quilt. Instead, you have to create a new one from scratch. It’s so much work!

### 2/5 — Not what I expected

*2019-01-15*

Unable to print quilt design

### 4/5 — Almost what I wanted

*2019-01-03*

I like everything about it so far except...I wish it had Disappearing Nine Patch designs. Because of that I had to give it 4 stars. It has tons of block designs that are very intricate but could use some of the more simple designs for us beginners.

### 4/5 — Does what I need it to do

*2018-04-18*

Love the fact I can take a photo of my fabric and use it in my design.
I was able to create my own design by taking blocks in the App and manipulating them for my own design.

I just wish it could give me fabric requirements based in the final design vs. me calculating it manually.

### 3/5 — Has potential

*2017-11-05*

I was so excited when I found this app. Now, I am slightly disappointed. It has some very good features. For instance, I like being able to take pictures of my own fabric to use in the layouts. I wish there was more versatility to the layouts. It would be nice to be able to build a pattern from 1 block to however many you need for the size quilt you want. Currently the smallest layout is 16 blocks. It would also be nice to configure your own blocks by starting with a blank and dropping in squares or half squares, 1/4 squares or flying geese, etc. Currently, you have to choose from the blocks that are preloaded on the app. A drag and drop feature would be awesome. The upside is that it’s inexpensive. Not saying that it isn’t a helpful tool. Just wishing it was more versatile.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-10-20*

Nice concept. Unfortunately the app freezes and renders itself useless when trying to put a quilt storyboard together.

### 3/5 — 有一些bug

*2016-10-09*

同意楼上的，有点不尽人意的地方，希望能改进

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2016-09-22, version 2.5.3*

I am a novice looking for a useful planning tool. This app is not versatile enough for me. Although there are many block options, they are not the ones I need . Wasted $5.00. Wish I could get a refund

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Hexies

*2024-01-20*

There are no options for any hexagonal designs so can’t use it sadly.

### 1/5 — What is this?!

*2021-11-08*

This app is completely useless. Worst $5 I ever spent. Worse, I wasted two hours arriving at the same dead end, going around in circles. The “tutorial” shows cute pictures of things that don’t pop up on my iPad. Useless.

This is the first bad review I have ever written. Ever.

### 1/5 — Horrible just crashes and can’t report the problem

*2020-08-09*

This is not working and no way to report. Appears to be out of business.

### 1/5 — Limited

*2019-12-26*

No support. Pre loaded blocks. Can’t load fabric images from inter easily. How do I return this app?

### 1/5 — Not good

*2019-10-19*

Can not design a block. You have to use one in the library and no simple design.

### 1/5 — Waste of Money!!

*2019-05-14*

There are basic traditional blocks that are not in this app! I needed Sister’s Choice, a block that is very old, guess what, it’s not even in there!! How do I return this and get my money back??!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2018-12-06*

The previews make it seem as though you can design your own quilts, but the only capabilities it has is to choose one of their templates or a blank square (everything is in squares). There is no way to build your own template. The “import your own fabric” function is sorely lacking; when it imports, it zooms in, so you will only see a tiny piece of the print. For instance, if you import a woodland creature print, it zooms in on one deer’s leg. This happened with all of the fabrics I tried to import.
While I think this is a fine app for someone wanting to follow their templates & use their fabrics, it’s very limited in capabilities.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2018-11-25*

I would like a refund please this app is awful

### 1/5 — Frustrating and disappointing :(

*2018-06-21*

I assumed that disappearing four and disappearing nine would be included, but no :( Some blocks have ‘unusual’ names which means if you’re looking for something it might be there but under their own made up name. Very dissappointed that I can’t add blocks, very limited in what you can do with the list of blocks provided (rotate, reverse, repeat) and the interface is not remotely intuitive. Sorry, but a thumbs down from me :(

### 1/5 — Could be great

*2017-10-21*

This app has great potential but is not updated to iOS 11 yet and does not work right. I was looking forward to using it but now I am just so disappointed. PLEASE UPDATE THIS APP!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I want a refund!

*2020-12-31, version 2.5.5*

Scam! I gave a 1star and wrote this comment. When I hit send it asked for a nick name. Every single one I tried claimed “taken, please try again” I even use made up words, I used words in a different language that not many people even know and it still claimed it was taken.. I’ve wrote comments b4 and this never happens.. idk how they do it but they have it set up so you can’t make a bad review... now I change it to a 5 star, let’s see if it accepts it now..

The description is so misleading in my opinion...
1st of all, 5x out of 7 when I went to the design option, it was a total blank page..
2nd.. I chose a 4 patch... I made 1 with 4 dif fabrics and then went to make another 4 patch using 4 different patterns . When I created my 2nd one and added it to my quilt, it changed my 1st patch into my 2nd new block . So instead of having 2 different 4 patch’s I have 2 of the same.. 1st I just wanted to simply make the typical 5x5 blocks across and down. No cutting and sewing each block. Just using 5x5 charm packs and wanted just simple blocks.. There’s no design option for that. It’s all more advanced type stuff. There was 1 option that shows 1 block and says “blank” vs all the needing squares, triangles, smaller blocks, and other more detailed designs.. anyway I tried that option hoping it would allow me to just pick my fabric for each square cross and down..... Nope! It’s literally just a white blank box that you can’t do anything with. The description makes like you can design just about any quilt you want, select your fabric for each section and move them around until you get the color/design pattern you want... such a very simple thing.. Take pics of fabric, choose the style block, add fabric to it, make a layout and move around your fabric choices until they’re in the order you like.... Very simple... Nope, not with this. Can’t even make a simple 5in square straight across period let alone having each one a different color.. This app also says you can basically make the quilt as many blocks across and down as you want/need.. That isn’t true... It’s also an aggravating process to even add in your fabric choices, it’s an aggravating process to add your photos period. When u get to ur gallery, you can’t just select all the fabric you want, there’s like 4 or 5 steps just to add 1 photo and then you gotta go back and do another 4-5 steps to add the 2nd photo.. I could literally write another mile long comment on how awful this app is but what’s the point... I have no idea how there are people who are happy with this app. It just don’t make sense how any real sewer/quilter would be happy with this app... Also ppl are right, it does zoom in on ur fabric, it also changes the colors. My camera looks fine, colors are pretty spot on but when on this app, my colors are way off... How do I get a refund??!!

### 5/5 — Love it, but needs a little finesse

*2019-10-04*

With the companion app, I’m able to build blocks from scratch! I’ve taken the time up load almost 350 Kona solids by name so I know my quilt will have true colors.

My only drawbacks are this. I wish I could ‘unselect all’ fabrics with one button. With 350 solid colors, I do a lot of scrolling just to unselect a fabric.

Also, I wish the options for borders and sassing could be much smaller. The ratio is quite large compared to the blocks.

But I use this exclusively to design and plan and I love it

### 5/5 — Amazing Quilt Design App

*2018-10-05*

This is exactly what I was looking for in a quilt design app. So immediately rewarding. I have 40+ fabrics going into this quilt and it took very little time to add them into my library. I’m still figuring things out but I’m finding this app extremely helpful and easy to use. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Exactly what I wanted!

*2018-07-01*

I’m not a fancy quilter, but this did exactly what I wanted. I figured it out in under five minutes, was able to upload the material I’m using and design a quilt with it. I’m not sure why others had trouble, I almost didn’t get it because of the other reviews. It is worth it for what I’m doing.

### 5/5 — Fun and helpful

*2017-11-14*

There are an endless variety of ways to combine blocks and colour; this app helps you explore to find the combination that will work for your next project. Easy to use. I love using it!

### 5/5 — Fun

*2017-07-21*

This is a really fun app. And a very useful tool as well. Well worth the money!

### 5/5 — Miss

*2017-01-04*

Fabulous app- very easy

### 5/5 — Great Design App!

*2016-11-26*

I love this app. I take pics of my fabric and spend hours designing before making a single cut! I also import fabrics from online stores and design quilts before buying fabric!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2016-08-22*

This is a fab little app that lets you plan your quilt using photos of your own fabric so you know exactly what the finished produced will look like. I've given it 5 stars as compared to other quilt apps it's outstanding. Although I have some suggestions as to what else I'd like to be able to do. 1. I'd like to be able to just add horizontal or vertical sashing it only allows you to add both at the moment. 2. I'd like to be able to create quilts using shapes other than squares, rectangles and triangles.. IE Hexagons/tumbler/apple core.

### 5/5 — Nearly perfect

*2016-02-20*

I was a looking for an app that I could design my own quilts in using my pictures of fabric that I had already owned. This is THE APP! At first I was hesitant at the price, but decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did. The app allows you to create a quilt using pictures of fabric that you either have or have screen shots of through you camera. You collect your fabrics in the fabric part of the app and when you're ready to create a quilt you click on the quilt section and begin. First you choose a quilt type, then you add blocks and material. You create the blocks using material in your material collection. You can duplicate blocks, rotate them, flip them, and so on. I suggest duplicating blocks then manipulating them. Then you go back to your quilt and add the blocks to the quilt. You can change the numbers and rows of the blocks, add up to two boarders, add corner blocks, and change the size of above things. Once you are done with the quilt you can save it as a picture. This allows you to see if the colors and designs work together. There is a library of blocks with multiple options. One of the downsides of the app is that you don't have measurements that end up telling you how much material you will need. But I have other apps that will do that for me so I use them in combination with this app. Additionally, you can't create your own block and save it to the block library. But this is mitigated by the fact that there are so many blocks to choose from that you can still experiment and make unique quilts. I absolutely love this app and it's one of the few apps that I have bought that I thought was worth the price. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a quilter.
