### 2/5 — Used to be so good

*2026-01-21, version 8.0.1*

This calculator app is buggy. Ages ago, I used to love using this app but when calculating for multiple quilts, I have to exit the app because it won’t go back so I can put in new measurements or put in measurements for a different field. It’s so frustrating.

### 2/5 — Trouble with site

*2025-10-30, version 8.0.1*

I have had a problem with this app all day and I never have before. After entering the measurements required, when I tap calculate, it says something to the effect that I need to enter a number in the width. First, I don’t know if it means width of fabric or width of quilt. There are numbers in both places. I really like this site but I’m very frustrated with this issue. I hope you can fix it.

### 3/5 — Updates

*2025-09-01, version 6.0.1*

Since the update I keep getting fabric width must contain a number or border 3 needs to have a numeric number. Ugh!!! There are numbers in the field and I don’t want 3 borders. Please fix this issue.

### 3/5 — Changing my review

*2024-03-02, version 3.5*

I use to love the app for the first few months the. Stopped using it. The math for fabric isn’t that difficult. I tried using it for projects and ended up buying three times as much as i needed for my project. I can easily do the math in my head and they sell real physical quilting calculators which are more accurate. Double check your math unless you want to buy a ton of scrap fabric. I am not that big into quilting so extra does me no good.

### 3/5 — Wide-backing fabric

*2023-08-15, version 3.5*

I have used this app gratefully for years. Unfortunately it does not seem to be updated for use with wide-backing fabric (108”). It would be really appreciated if you could update it.

### 2/5 — Way to much

*2022-08-27, version 3.5*

I used there calculations to buy fabric for my border. I ends up buys almost 3 yards too much. Way too much waste and expense to use this again!

### 4/5 — Easy to use

*2022-07-10, version 3.5*

I love this app and use it frequently when shopping for fabric. I also help other shoppers with their backing needs. One thing I would love to see would be a diagram on how to piece the fabric to get it to fit the quilt top.

### 5/5 — A must have for quilters

*2022-05-01, version 3.5*

It’s not the prettiest app. But I use it all the time to calculate fabric the amount of fabric or strips needed for backing, batting, and binding.

### 5/5 — Love it no more math

*2022-04-27, version 3.5*

This is great and relatively accurate. I use it for my binding and backing mostly. The math checks out for the most part unless you enter it wrong. I no longer end up over buying fabric.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-03-03, version 3.5*

Would be perfect if you could have a calculator to change from inches to metric.

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2021-05-10, version 3.5*

This has been my go to quilting app. I have not been short fabric since I have been using it.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2020-05-03, version 3.5*

This has been a great app, very useful for quilting projects

### 5/5 — Wonderful Aid

*2020-02-08, version 3.5*

I am fairly new to quilting and found trying to calculate yardage needed for backing and bindings challenging when I first made a quilt smaller than the pattern I used. I LOVE this app that saves me so much time and all-too-possible math mistakes when I don’t have specific directions! It even tells me how many strips to cut for my bindings!

### 5/5 — Sister Joannie

*2019-10-19, version 3.5*

Apparently I am not bright enough to use this app!! Tried entering numbers—nothing happened. Tried entering yardages at the beginning but Nothing happened. There is no tutorial at all. UNSATISFIED!!!!!

### 5/5 — Best quilting calculator

*2019-09-29, version 3.5*

I love this app. It is so handy and free to boot. My sister paid $40 for a quilting calculator and RK was awesome to give us the same info on a free app. Very handy and easy to use

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Back button doesn’t work

*2025-03-13, version 5.7.18*

When you go to a topic the back button “<“ doesn’t work. You have to close out and go back in again

### 1/5 — Ok when it works

*2024-12-27, version 5.7.18*

I use this app frequently. But, many times I will open it up and it’s blank. Unable to get into it at all. So I have to remove it, turn my phone off, reboot it, and then reload the app. I’m having to do that more and more frequently.

### 1/5 — Where is my calculator?

*2024-07-15, version 5.7.18*

Calculator is gone. Just the RK website opens now.

### 1/5 — No more Quilting Calc

*2024-07-07, version 5.7.18*

Now you can only buy fabric. GREEDY CORPORATE AMERICA STRIKES AGAIN. Rest assured I will never buy your products again.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time..

*2020-01-15, version 3.5*

It used to be great. Now the app won’t open. It just constantly sits at the home screen with a spinning wheel.

### 1/5 — Used to love it

*2017-10-25, version 3.0*

After recent updates, this app is no longer accurate. It used to be my go to app for calculating borders and bindings, but no more. Says you need much more fabric than you do. I’ll go back to math to figure what I need. It used to be a time saver. I will miss it.

### 1/5 — No longer has landscape view

*2017-10-01, version 3.0*

I have used this app a lot and have always loved it. But I use my iPad in landscape mode all the time. This app used to allow for that. Now you can only use it in portrait mode. I don’t like that. Pleas add landscape mode back.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate

*2017-05-29, version 2.4*

I would to say this is a good app but it has consistently been incorrect. I even had a friend who is an exceptional quilter see the mistakes it makes.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2015-11-07, version 2.3*

All it does is crash. See opening ad and then it crashes

### 1/5 — Doesn't calculate

*2014-11-09, version 2.3*

No longer tells me how much yardage to buy. Not happy. Used to use this program all the time. Now, it's useless to me.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-04-25, version 3.5*

I have referred to this app repeatedly over the approx 4years I’ve had it
I find it invaluable, thanks for a very handy quilting tool.

### 5/5 — Best I could find

*2023-03-27, version 3.5*

This fabric calculator was with me for years. Then age and Covid changed my life. I deleted it. When I healed, I started to finish projects. I missed the ease it offered. When I started up quilting again, I looked everywhere for the app. I am back with it again and making a baby quilt. I need this tool infrequently, yet remember asking when would I ever need math? Luckily, this was made for me by calculating geeks. Thanks
