The Quin App is a brilliant mix of ease of use and emerging technology that is a must for anyone who rides, whether in an urban or rural setting. I had a little difficulty pairing the app with the helmet initially, but that was partly due to not fully reading the instructions. After a second go, it worked great. I have been riding for most of my adult life and there has been situations, especially at night on a single lane rural road where this App would have been used immediately after a long slide on a wet road. The Quin SOS system is an insurance policy for safety and a long overdue element for the riding community in regard to safety. A great feature of the App is you can have several emergency contacts beyond 911, allowing the system to contact your family or friends in case of an accident. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot connect to BT anymore! *2024-04-10* Feels like this brand is going downhill! Since their recent app updates I cannot connect via BT anymore. Horrible. Also, they said helmet to helmet comms would be available via update over a year ago but still nothing. Such a shame!!! ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work & CS very slow to respond *2023-12-15* As w/ previous reviews, can’t login now & CS states they’re working on it…for almost a year now. I also can’t recommend the helmet as their BT capability doesn’t allow voice control. I don’t recommend their technology as it won’t work w/o the App & can’t access the App now. Wish I could return helmet & get my $700 back :/ Online website reviews are fake as I never was able to leave a review. Will be reporting to BBB & any other sites. ### 1/5 — Unable to log in *2023-01-14* The reason I spent over $300 on this helmet is to be able to use the app to where if I were to get into an accident, my loved ones will be able to find my GPS location and help emergency services if necessary. However, when you try to login, it says that there’s already an account that exists. There is also nowhere to go after that. I have spoken with their customer service representatives, and he tells me that the developers said that it was fixed. however, the same problems are still there. There is no way to log into this 2.0 app if you have had an account before. I would highly recommend not getting the helmet or the app if you wish to have the features that they say it does. I will take this review down as soon as they fix it. So far, they have been ghosting me and not responding. They will respond however if you want to buy the helmet. After that, they have been sporadically responsive when it comes to honoring their word. I really want to support the start up companies, but with companies like this and Skully, I am starting to be hesitant. ### 1/5 — Bogus *2021-05-22* Had the helmet for nearly a year and there haven’t been any improvements to the app or the bugs within the helmet. For one- It answers your calls whether you want it to or not. Beyond Infuriating! The biggest thumbs down- For no reason at all, during ride, it alerted my contacts to a false collision- not cool. It feels and looks great but it’s noisy rendering the speakers worthless. Company promised a photochromic shield and delivered a weak pinlock insert that hardly darkens.I know it’s somewhere in expensive for everything it’s offering but it’s been a big disappointment. ### 1/5 — Can’t connect to other riders *2020-05-26* The idea is great. But just like any com system out there, I’d love to be able to communicate with other coms around me. Not sure if it is a bug or not but the helmet will automatically answers calls so most of the time I keep it off. Likewise when connected to my phone it drains the battery more than any other app I have ten fold. I know it's important to get real time data, but maybe if it were a setting where the user sets how often to send data. ### 3/5 — Fly Formula S *2025-10-22, version 2.2.5* Helmet and app looks promising, however there isn’t any option to select the Fly Formula S as my helmet in the setup. - EDIT - I see there is a seperate app for Fly MX Helmets ### 3/5 — Not compatible with Australia *2019-07-07, version 1.0* The helmets I bought don’t contact my loved ones because I don’t have a +61 area code option there is only one and that’s +91 this is no good to me. Up needs updating ASAP. Also I’d like to see some sort of instructions on how my helmet works since I didn’t get any in the box. All that aside I do love my helmets. ### 4/5 — Cannot connect to BT anymore! *2024-06-06* Edit: After downloading the latest app and resetting the helmet I was able to connect and it works fine. I hope they will honor their word on updating the Bluetooth module so 2 Quin helmets can communicate while riding together. Feels like this brand is going downhill! Such a shame!!! ### 4/5 — Quin Ghost Double Zero *2021-08-13* Purchased a Ghost Double Zero as a replacement lid. My expectations were exceeded. Ultralight, perfect fit off the sizing chart and the controls are easy to use. Initially I got the helmet considering my safety but slowly with the ride analytics the app provides, it's been quite fun to understand my riding pattern. Stopped into a local dealership to acquire some new gear. That’s when I saw the QUIN display, the styling caught my eye. Then when I learned the helmet has crash detection and Bluetooth I was instantly sold. I liked the peace of mind knowing if a crash occurred while riding someplace new my emergency contacts would be notified. I planed on leaving the helmet with the gear and bike in FL. But chose to bring it as my personal carryon. It was 33f at home this morning and had no issues with being cold or fog ### 5/5 — Awesome Helmet! THANK YOU *2020-09-20* Just set up my new Quin Helmet. The design elements really standout. I am super impressed. Helmet connects easily via the iOS settings and App does a fantastic job detecting my helmet and the SOS sent from the helmet.
