## What is Quips?

REMEMBER THE WORDS THAT MATTER

Quips saves the quotes you'd otherwise lose, styles them into something worth sharing, and keeps a private library in sync on your iPhone, iPad and Mac.

SAVE QUOTES FROM ANYWHERE
Capture a line the moment you find it:
• Add quotes yourself, or save them from the Share Sheet, Siri or Shortcuts
• Paste a highlight from Apple Books or Kindle and the author and source fill themselves in
• Note where each one came from — book, movie, podcast, speech, game and more
• Search instantly by a quote's words or its meaning
• Related Quotes finds others in your library that say something similar

ONE LIBRARY, EVERY DEVICE
• A real Mac app with a menu bar, keyboard shortcuts and multiple windows
• On iPad, and on iPhone turned sideways, a sidebar sits beside your library with a quote open next to it
• Unfold iPhone Duo and Quips fills both displays, with your library beside the quote you're reading
• Collections, tags, authors and sources each get a screen of their own
• Select several quotes and drag them onto a collection to file them
• Changed your mind? Undo a delete, an edit or a favorite

DISCOVER 90+ CURATED COLLECTIONS
• Literature, film, television, faith, music, comedy, history, science and more — over 3,000 quotes
• Search inside the quotes and their topics, not just collection names
• Every quote says how well its attribution holds up: Verified, Widely attributed, Folk wisdom or Unconfirmed
• Save one quote or a whole collection, and its topics come with it as tags
• A new collection is featured every week

SHARE STUDIO: MAKE IT YOURS
Turn any quote into an image worth posting:
• Six card styles, from minimal to bold
• Square, portrait, pin (2:3), story (9:16) and wide sizes
• Light, dark or saturated backgrounds, your own accent color, and a choice of typefaces
• Show or hide the author, date and source before you share
• With Apple Intelligence, put an Image Playground illustration behind the words

SUGGESTIONS, MADE ON YOUR DEVICE
With Apple Intelligence, Quips lends a hand without sending your quotes anywhere:
• Suggested tags as you add a quote
• Smart capture fills in the author and source of any credited quote you paste or share
• Suggest a Style picks a Share Studio look to suit the quote's mood

A QUOTE EVERY DAY
• Daily Quote notifications at the times and days you choose
• Home Screen, Lock Screen and desktop widgets, styled your way in Widget Studio
• On This Day: quotes first said on today's date

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your quotes sync through your own iCloud account. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, and there's no account to create. Suggestions are made on your device by Apple's built-in models.

FREE TO START
Save up to 100 quotes for free, with search, Share Studio, widgets, one Public Collection and one Daily Quote schedule included. Quips Premium adds:

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-10-27

WHAT'S NEW
• Made for iPhone Duo: Quips fills both displays. Unfold it to see your library beside the quote you're reading, and Share Studio puts the preview on one side and its controls on the other.

BUG FIXES
• Add Quote links: A link that adds a quote with an impossible date, such as a century with too many digits, no longer fails. The quote opens with no date for you to fill in.
• Year wheel: Add a Quote no longer freezes for a few seconds while the year wheel is showing and the screen is read by VoiceOver or Switch Control.
• Daily Quotes: Quitting Quips right after leaving it no longer leaves your Daily Quote notifications cleared.
• Smoother typing and scrolling.

### 2.0 — 2026-10-26
