### 3/5 — Taken over by ads and paywalls

*2026-10-19*

The app used to be free. Slowly over time more and more parts of the app got locked behind a paywall. These are all the things that used to be available when I downloaded the app:
• Add notes for each day
• View previous days
• Log on previous days
• Log current day

All of these actions now require watching an ad or are completely locked behind a paywall. It’s sad to watch an app I’ve been using and enjoy slowly get taken over by ads and become unusable.

### 2/5 — Used to be good

*2026-10-18, version 2.9.6*

This app used to be good until they started to monetize it. Now you have to watch ads just to record your drinks.

### 2/5 — A great app ruined by excessive ads and paywalls

*2026-10-18*

I used to love this app. It was simple, had a great widget, and did exactly what I needed. I have no problem with developers making money through ads or offering paid features, but watching this app slowly become less and less usable has been disappointing.

It went from a great free app with optional paid features, to more ads and fewer free features, to now requiring a minute-long ad just to log a single drink.

I’m not against paying for apps, but deliberately making the free experience increasingly frustrating isn’t the way to earn my business.

It’s a shame because this really was a great app. Unfortunately, I’m deleting it and looking for something else.

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2026-08-23, version 2.7.1*

I’m a visual person and have been trying to stop for years. I need it in my face. This app gives me the visual I need to see my overall status and progress. I’m on my journey and Drylender is going to help me.

### 5/5 — 5/5

*2026-08-21*

Cette app m’a vraiment aidé à mieux comprendre mes habitudes de consommation ! Grâce à son suivi clair et intuitif, j’ai pu prendre de meilleures décisions et réduire progressivement ma consommation 🤌🏽

### 5/5 — Very Helpful

*2026-08-21*

This app is very well made and helped me realize how much I actually drink. It helped me reduce my drinking. 🙏

### 5/5 — Simple yet SO effective!

*2026-08-12*

I absolutely love the simplicity of this app. Being able to see your progress from a calendar view is an absolute game changer. Big big big fan!

### 5/5 — Sober sorta

*2026-07-30*

This app is good for helping you string days in a row. One yellow or red day doesn’t look bad but when you start seeing them pile up this app helps you get back on track and in the green.

### 5/5 — 정말 좋은 앱

*2026-07-30*

디자인도 괜찮고, 술 기록하는 과정이 재밌습니다.

### 5/5 — Trop cool !

*2026-07-23*

App vraiment sympa à utiliser avec ses amis !!

### 5/5 — Cute app! And useful to moderate

*2026-07-20, version 2.4.0*

I’m a typical UK office worker that has a tendency to have a couple more than I’d like to on the weekend or at the work night out - this is a great way to keep me honest and it’s a very cute design too!

### 5/5 — Absolutely the best!

*2026-07-12, version 2.3.1*

I have been using this app for over a year, managing my drinking patterns based on the SobriScore. It is absolutely the best!

### 5/5 — Best drink tracking app available!!

*2026-07-06*

This is one of the best apps I’ve used for tracking my poor drinking habits. The good news is that this app keeps me honest and have seen a massive improvement over all!

### 5/5 — Premium Features

*2026-06-23, version 2.1.3*

This was a great app that I got a bunch of my friends on and we liked the features, the UI, and how easy it was to use. Hopefully future plans for this app get to a place where the features currently behind a paywall can be free again, they are very handy and exactly what an app like this should include.

### 5/5 — Game changing app - and great customer service!

*2026-06-19, version 2.1.2*

This app has been the best one I’ve tried for cutting down my alcohol consumption. It’s simple to use, has intuitive design and really does keep me on track.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I recently found a bug in the app and contacted the company email. François replied within 2 minutes and immediately set to resolve the issue. I was so impressed by the speedy and friendly response! He went above and beyond to sort it. Thank you! :-)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Currency

*2026-10-23*

Please add Russian ruble. RUB

### 1/5 — everytime i update the app it just becomes unbearable to use for a free user

*2026-10-19*

the developer just are trying to suck free users dry, come on man it’s a simple alcohol tracking app, i do think i will make my own, because what is watch an ad to track drink, i used to update in realtime when drinking but watching ad every time is just too much

**Developer response:** Hello there! Sorry for this bad experience, it’s because an accessibility option is enabled on your phone. Can you contact me so I can help you to get the colors back?

### 1/5 — Cher

*2026-10-10*

Avant gratuit, maintenant payant et beaucoup trop cher, pas facile de réduire sa consommation avec ces prix, tout deviens payant maintenant. Vraiment dommage

### 1/5 — Literally doesn’t work

*2026-10-09, version 2.9.6*

Can’t even rate the efficacy of this app because it genuinely doesn’t work. Click the date on the calendar and nothing happens. Click fill x days, nothing happens. Scam app.

### 1/5 — They got greedy and ruined it!

*2026-06-27*

This app USED to be amazing. It genuinely helped me cut back on my drinking quite a bit. However, they’ve made it so you need to pay 5 dollars a month just to be able to see the dates on the calendar and to be able to go back and edit if you forgot to log a day.

5 dollars a month for that is insanity. It’s always such a shame when a small company that puts out a decent product goes onto ruin it in an effort to get more money. The apps practically useless now and it also looks horrific. There’s no numbers on the calendar anymore, just a bunch of lock symbols.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for your message and sorry for the inconvenience. Can you send me a message so I can unlock you? Thanks!

### 1/5 — Color coded feature got removed

*2026-05-12*

I have been using this app since two months, but suddenly with an update the app turned colorful months into black and white. I thought maybe free users have this, so i bought free trial, to confirm this, but still it is black and white, which is very annoying and makes it hard to see the streak. Actively looking to switch to any other app, because bills can’t be that high.

**Developer response:** Hello there! Sorry for this bad experience, it’s because an accessibility option is enabled on your phone. Can you contact me so I can help you to get the colors back?

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2026-05-01, version 1.2.3*

I agree with other reviewers, adding a paywall without any notice or meaningful improvements feels frustrating. It seems like functionality was reduced just to push users toward paying.

### 1/5 — Premium Features

*2026-04-30, version 1.2.3*

This was a great app that I got a bunch of my friends on and we liked the features, the UI, and how easy it was to use. However, more and more features are now behind a paywall, to the point that there is nothing I can record other than that day’s count, recorded ON THAT DAY ONLY. I also cannot add notes anymore because that’s behind a paywall as well. This is not helpful. Very disappointed. I understand the app needs to make money but I’d prefer ads over this.

### 1/5 — app is useless now

*2026-04-28, version 1.2.3*

Found this app a couple months ago and was loving it. Now we can’t do anything without having to pay. Checking or logging previous days. App doesn’t even show what you get for paying. $5 a month is insane. Real bummer

### 1/5 — No longer usable without a subscription

*2026-04-26, version 1.2.2*

This app had a nice start, but the developer has become greedy and has gradually removed free features. Now the most basic function of the app, logging alcohol use, is fully paywalled. The subscription price is absurd for what is ultimately a very basic app with lots of free alternatives. I’m out.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great and easy

*2026-10-23, version 2.9.8*

Fun and easy way to track my life destroying habit :)

### 5/5 — Tracking drinking and sobriety streaks

*2026-10-20*

Was just looking for a free tracking app. And this is what that app is! It does ask often to upgrade but I’ve been using it for 3 months still on free version.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-10-12, version 2.9.6*

Love this tracker, keeps me mindful and supports healthier lifestyle choices

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-10-09, version 2.9.6*

Great

### 5/5 — Fantastic and whimsical

*2026-10-02, version 2.9.5*

Love this.

### 5/5 — So thankful for this app

*2026-09-16, version 2.9.2*

It really helps you visualize your patterns.

### 5/5 — Only tracker I actually use!

*2026-09-15, version 2.9.2*

Simple and easy. Love it.

### 5/5 — Very impressive

*2026-09-05*

This is by far the best app for tracking drinking.

Other apps in this space have a serious, depressing design which is in no way encouraging for someone trying to quit.

This one is satisfying, colorful, has a playful style, and you can tell there’s an actual designer making all the graphics. Well thought out. The dev nailed it.

### 5/5 — This is strangely effective

*2026-09-05*

This keeps me on track, this is especially good for someone who is OCD about tracking steps or other visual indicators of progress. I have to think twice about casual drinking because that would cause me to change my entry from green for zero drinks to yellow or orange.

### 5/5 — Great app to visualize alcohol use

*2026-09-02*

I’ve been trying to cut back on drinking alcohol and I previously used one of the app developers previous apps for step tracking (StepUp Retro Pedometer). I’m really excited to use this to keep track of my streaks, avoiding alcohol so that I can maintain my weight and have more clarity around friends and family. Plus I want to sleep better.

**Developer response:** Happy to help you to stay in good health! Thank you!
