I always go to the most critical reviews first to help me determine if I want to purchase the app. Everything that was negative has never been my experience and most were 6-7 years old. I like the app and I have wasted .99 cents on much worse things than this. And I do not consider this purchase a waste of money. The free version is very good, I just like having different and more varied backgrounds. But I've decided to upgrade a couple or so months ago. Now that I have a new phone, after restoring, my upgrade is gone. I have not found a way to restore my upgrade. I don't want to proceed with purchasing another (by pressing the UPGRADE button) as I'm not sure if that will restore my deluxe upgrade or charge me for another upgrade. I need help on this. He was a great philospher and said plenty of profound things; he probably wouldn't appreciate being assigned someone else's words, no matter how well articulated. Ok, I'm done. I simply want to view quotes on demand. Yet, this app KNOWS what's best for me. I open the app and immediately it pushes me to all push notifications. Given the price and rating, you might presume... The app offers many high quality quotes, an ability to customise the types of quotes in notifications... and an ability to save good quotes. If you did, as i did, that presumption would be wrong. It's unclear how deep the quote database is compared to competitors who boast thousands, but I've had many pop up that were just plain uninspirational and common - why I cant apply some filters or get the benefit of higher rated quotes - I do not know. Furthermore the options only allow 'day' 'night' or 'both' for notifications - hardly giving choice at all. What if I want a quote at 5pm after work? Sorry, it cant do it. Lastly the visual mechanics of the app are brutally slow and in your face... But you could probably tell from the screenshots. There is no way to dig into the app for more quotes without putting up with the 'digital page turn' animation... it's just painful. The only virtue of this app is the fact that once you set the notifications up - you don't have to open the app up ever again... Until it gives error messages and requires you to open the app up to load more quotes. Basically, there's no decent competition if you want quote notifications (have a look) so buy it if that's your need - but if you want to be able to flick through quotes as well - buy 'quotes' (green icon) or 'quotism' or just go to brainyquote.com for free well organised quotes. ### 1/5 — Outrageous bigoted nonsense *2011-12-23* This is a great app if you are looking for sexist, bigoted and athiestic quotes from Karl Marx, Napoleon and the like. If you are a spiritual person and do not want your spirituality insulted 8am every day with the worst collection of quotes you will ever have the displeasure of being exposed to, then avoid wasting your money on this revolting app. I cannot believe what the writers of this app are attempting to pass off as "inspirational". If you are an avowed communist, athiest or socialist however, this may be the app for you. I am chagrined that the developers are being handsomely remunerated for this rubbish.
