Quran Screen Time is the first screen time app designed by and for Muslims. Our goal is to help reduce social media addiction amongst the Ummah and help Muslims reconnect with Allah through the Quran. In Quran Screen Time you select apps which you want to block (specifically social media apps like Instagram, Tik Tok, Reddit, Snapchat, Twitter/X and others), every day when you want to use that app you have to read a page of the Quran. There is a timer for 150 seconds to ensure you actually read the page. When creating this app I didn't want to pander to the user, I want to make it actually difficult for the user to utilize social media. InshAllah through the Quran the user will see how much more free time they have and second guess whether they actually need social media in their lives. Quran Screen Time is created by Quran Buddy. Quran Buddy provides Quran teachers for all ages and genders, whether you want to complete Hifz, practice Tajwid, or learn Fusah/Arabic we have a teacher for you. What sets this app apart is its ability to gently redirect your attention and not be annoying about it. If I find myself trying to waste an hour on TikTok, it prompts me to read a short, English verse from the Quran. Just that reset itself makes me more mindful on if I even want to spend time on TikTok. It’s a very meaningful way to pause and reflect, and it has genuinely helped me become more mindful of how I use my time. The user interface is clean and functional, though there’s definitely room for small improvements in terms of design. That said, the app absolutely delivers on its core purpose, and it does so with excellent intention.
