I have tried and tried and it doesn't work. Besides that this app works to monitor their screen time limit and google searches. Also, if I pause internet usage it also turns off location tracking. What good is that? ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2026-07-09, version 182.37.1* For about a month now, I have not received any profanity alerts from my child’s phone, even though I can clearly see that messages containing inappropriate language are still being sent and received. The app is still installed, all settings remain enabled, and nothing has been changed on my child’s phone. I therefore do not understand why this feature has stopped working. ### 1/5 — Stay Away *2026-07-09, version 182.37.1* This app sucks, it’s not compatible with much like other apps like it with IOS due to the 2 factor authentication. They claim they can bypass it, but even other promises were broken like safety alerts. They are unresponsive and if they respond it’s a general AI generated response and not account specific, they didn’t even know what phone I had synchronized to their system. I synched an IPhone 12, they sent me troubleshooting instructions for an android. A bunch of idiots, they should be shutdown for false advertising. In my phone is showing it is blocked and she can still use it! ### 1/5 — No trial period *2026-07-06, version 182.37.1* You have to order for 1 year to try and find out it doesnt do much. Sorry, this is predatory practice. ### 2/5 — Pretty average *2026-07-05, version 182.37.1* Parental app can be annoying and clunky to use. Setting up routines for things like school holidays is overly difficult if they conflict with existing routines. Installing on most devices is easy, but random devices just won’t allow you to install. Would try something different in future. ### 1/5 — Waste of Time, Poor Support and Does Not Work *2026-07-04* I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Qustodio has been extremely disappointing. I have wasted two days trying to get the app to work, with no success, and my free trial is about to expire. The support system is just as frustrating. Every time I draft a message through the support section, it gets deleted and I am told to refresh the page and start again. I also sent an email but received no actual support, only automated messages saying that we have not connected 😡. Overall, this has been a complete waste of my time. I have now downloaded a different parental control app with good reviews, and it worked immediately without any problems. I will be trialling it for 14 days before deciding whether to subscribe. If Qustodio’s support team respond, and help resolve these issues, and extend my trial to make up for the time lost, I would be willing to give the app another fair trial and update this review accordingly. However, based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend it. ### 2/5 — Does Not Work on IPhone *2026-07-04, version 182.37.1* If you are trying to lock down iPhones, just know that the security and settings can be bypassed. It works well for android devices but don’t waste your money if you’re trying to control your child’s iPhone. I contacted Qustodio support multiple times and took screenshots of my child bypassing the settings and ultimately they could not help. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-07-03, version 182.37.1* It’s easy for a kid to circumvent the controls on this app. Wasted my money. ### 1/5 — I don’t review apps, but this absolutely calls for it. *2026-07-02* Most of the negative reviews you see on this app are funny because they’re from kids, which implies at the app is doing his job. However, as a parent, my experience with this app has been absolutely atrocious. In general, not only does this app not work as advertised (you are not able to make exceptions for specific apps like you do with the native Screen Time function on iPhone, it’s all or nothing restrictions via categories), but the most egregious malfunction of this app is that while they claim it cannot brick the phone or messages due to Apple’s own restrictions, that simply is not the case. My child is currently hundreds of miles away from me and unable to use his phone at all, during allowed time, because this app has made his phone effectively a brick. Luckily, he is with family and is able to call me from their phones, but the fact that this “safety” app has made it literally impossible for my own child to contact his own parent??? Unacceptable. I have demanded a refund for the hundred dollar subscription that they scam you into purchasing for “full functionality” of all the features. Do NOT install this app under ANY circumstances. ### 3/5 — Good controls, but small iOS bug for my son’s iPad. *2026-06-30, version 182.37.1* It works almost perfectly fine, but to even use Roblox once, my son has to turn off the VPN. When he enters it, even when it isn’t blocked, it says he doesn’t have access to it, and when he does use it, it randomly ends his game session. Please fix this. My children still be able to watch YouTube or play offline games even the limit time has reached. This app is not catching all of those so major loopholes. I’ve wrote in multiple times to get more of these ai sex chat apps added but it hasn’t been done. Will be switching to Bark ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — PARENTS DO NOT INSTALL ON YOUR CHILDS PHONE IT IS A MALWARE INDUCED CONFIGURATION PROFILE *2026-08-14, version 182.39.2* My parents recently installed Qustodio onto my phone in hopes of tracking harmful messages. It completely failed, although they set it up right Qustodio failed to actually track them. Don’t even get me started on the thousands of other problems: 1. VPN is set in America so if you’re outside the US your child’s phone will become unusable even with permissions on. 2. Random popups will appear out of nowhere telling me to sign back into my apple account, ones just saying “ok” and nothing else and ones telling me my storage is getting full even though it’s not. 3. Randomly it would make me send messages I didn’t even write such as sending the app TikTok to my Mum automatically for nothing, literally just telling her to “install it” 4. Apple Pay would constantly be disabled because Qustodio triggers lost mode every time a feature happens such as downtime. I had to re-add my cards and enable them all again once more. I could keep going on but I wrote this pretty late and I’m tired. Do not install this on your child’s phone unless you’re willing to buy them a new one. ### 1/5 — Terrible Valie *2026-08-12* Paid almost $100 for the Qustodio basic plan to try (before upgrading) and I’m seriously disappointed. For that kind of money I expected reliable parental controls that actually work, especially on iPhone. Instead I got incomplete monitoring, features that don’t function as advertised, and constant frustration. Key things I paid for either don’t work properly or require workarounds that shouldn’t be necessary. The value is terrible. Apple’s built-in Screen Time already does a lot of this for free, and Qustodio’s extra features feel half-baked or unreliable once you’re locked into the expensive plan. I’m not holding out hope for a refund. I would not recommend this app at this price. We’ve had installation and set up issues from the very start. And every attempt to contact tech support is by email with a 2–3 day wait for a response. Meaning our entire trial period was spent waiting for an email from tech support that did not address any of our issues. No call or chat option unless you want to be upsold to the plus plus version. Be warned, an incomplete app installation can require you to wipe your child’s device. Incredibly frustrating. ### 1/5 — Trash! DO NOT PURCHASE *2026-08-04, version 182.38.1* This app is utter trash! Complete waste of $100. I only purchased because I wanted to be able to temporarily block certain numbers at certain times of the day, nope can’t do it. All it does is monitor conversations and calls that the iPhone settings can do and alerts you about every tiny thing. “Your son searched for soccer tips” seriously 😒. Did I mention it’s hard to use? It doesn’t do anything you program it to. Then you have to spend hours trying to figure out why your child’s phone isn’t working at the times it should so you just turn it all off. And here’s the kicker they WILL NOT refund you even if you cancel less than 24 hrs later. No matter how good you are to them, it doesn't mean that they will treat you the same way. I have been married to my husband for years with no idea he was cheating. Suddenly i started noticing changes in behavior, i suspected something was wrong So i confided in a friend who convinced and introduced me to an hacker. He was able to hack into my husband mobile phone to access his Text messages, Call logs, IG, browser history, deleted messages, Emails and WhatsApp remotely. It seemed as though my life was spinning out of control getting to find out he has someone else. I filed for a divorce just could not continue with his lies. If you feel you have been exploited in your marriage and you need proof. This works well. My child is blocked from using the public library website during study hours. It’s not immediately clear how to change that. And this app conflicts with the Apple Watch.
