### 3/5 — Make the keyboard better

*2025-09-10, version 4.8*

I love this game, but you can’t type quickly on it. I would love to see what I could come up with if typing wasn’t so slow. I’d even be willing to pay per match if I could actually use the time to come up with words.

### 3/5 — Okay but could be better

*2025-07-14*

First, this is the only app I’ve paid for that still makes me sit through way too many agonizing ads. Seriously, you expect me to pay additional money to remove the ads?? That’s greedy. Second, I stopped playing the definition game because it isn’t too bright. It simply looks for matching words so your definition doesn’t really need to be coherent, just type as many words as you can that you hope will match. It also doesn’t credit you for using a different form of a given word, so you better hope you’re writing in the proper tense. What would make it better is to use AI to decipher the definition written and score it. At least it would be more accurate.

### 4/5 — Fun but misleading

*2025-04-08*

This is a great game for the most part. I paid the 4.99 or whatever for ad-free, but I still have to watch ads when I play the daily definundrum. Most of the time they aren’t too bad but those Royal Match ads are endless. Just kind of annoying to pay money and still have to sit through them.

**Developer response:** If you purchased Ad Annihilator, you should not be seeing any ads whatsoever. Please email support@karatepossum.com so we can sort you out!

### 3/5 — I like the idea

*2025-02-04*

I really like the idea of this game, but it’s too hard. Some might say it’s a skill issue, but the way it counts the points words give is just unfair. Sometimes I give words that are way harder/bigger than the other players, but still get less points! I’ve had this game since yesterday, played all day, and still haven’t won a single match. It’s definitely not a skill issue.

### 4/5 — iPhone vs iPad

*2024-12-13*

On my iPhone I would give this app 5 stars. The games are fun and engaging. I have tried all of the games, but enjoy Time Attack and Cupid’s Arrow the most. I mainly play in solo form.
My iPad version is not as clean and tends to glitch more often; thus, I would give it 4 stars. The Cupid’s Arrow game has a tendency to miss giving points even when the words are in the definition. For example, I received no points for “black and white” in the definition of zebra.

### 4/5 — Who are we playing?

*2024-11-15*

This app is a great idea. The games are very addictive. I can play them for hours. Love it! But I’ve noticed that when searching for a “match” if it can’t find one then I’m obviously playing a bot. Unfortunately the bot plays the same way every time. It goes hard for the first round or two. Then it slows right down and by the last round it barely does anything at all. I assume this is to allow us (the humans) to win, feel good and keep playing. Any chance you could improve the possibilities of playing a real human and mixing up the outcomes a bit more?

### 4/5 — Great game, some glitches

*2024-11-13*

The game is very fun and I play it with my partner often.

There are some points of contention that make the game frustrating at times.

The keyboard is INCREDIBLY slow and the distances between the keys are so close that mistyping happens with EVERY WORD. As you can imagine, in a timed game, this can be really flustering.

The clear button takes a full half second to clear a word, making it almost faster just to hit backspace. If you hit clear many times in a row, it won’t clear the word until the last press registers.

The dictionary they use doesn’t seem to be a standard dictionary because it’s missing common word variants and other common parlance but contains proper nouns for some reason.

These criticisms are solely to alert the devs and not anything that prevents me from coming back to the game over and over again. This game is a blast if you like word games!

### 4/5 — Wonderful word game

*2024-10-24, version 4.5*

This is an amazing game, it really makes you think my only gripe is that it can be laggy at times.

### 3/5 — There Seems To Be A Glitch

*2024-07-25*

This is, I think, a fun, unusual, amusingly designed word game. But both times I’ve played, in solo mode, the game ends, asked me to wait for results, then shows me an ad (both times for Monopoly Go). The ad ends and…nothing. I can’t close it, waiting does nothing, tapping on the ad just gives me the option to download Monopoly. Have to shut down the iPad completely to get rid of the ad. I never get results. This is…um…frustrating. Makes me not want to play again.

**Developer response:** Hi Rooie, can you please send us an email at support@karatepossum.com? I believe this is an iPad related issue but I'd like to get more information from you so I can address this. Thank you!

### 2/5 — Good but paid app is bugged

*2024-07-23*

The game is good however I have paid to remove ads and I am still getting them which is really disappointing. No response from developer when I have emailed about it

### 4/5 — Missing games

*2024-07-03, version 3.6*

I like this but only have time attach and wordplay, missing the other games.

### 5/5 — Getting better all the time

*2024-06-16*

I love this game. I’m improving over time, getting faster, choosing longer words excetera. Now that’s a good word to use! You may borrow it if you like. I think my vocabulary is expanding as well. It’s fun to see what words my opponent uses, they are usually very different from mine. All in all, a very good, fast paced game.

### 5/5 — Lots of fun!

*2024-06-08, version 3.40*

Scratches your brain in the best way. Challenging without being stressful. All the fun of Wordle with more games to play.

### 4/5 — Fun game but…

*2024-05-21, version 3.31*

This can be addicting! I enjoy playing against other players. The wait time to find a match sometimes take too long. Glitches and people leaving mid game can be frustrating. Fun game and I’m keeping this app on my phone for now.

### 5/5 — Fun and pretty

*2024-05-07, version 3.3*

It’s a fun addictive game to play solo or with a friend. I like the style of the UI and support is fast and friendly. Try it!

### 5/5 — My favorite app

*2024-04-23*

I genuinely don’t understand the poor reviews - like they actually crack me up. I find the game so catchy and fun - I actually can’t wait to play it every morning with my coffee before I settle into my workday. I actually ended up deleting some other word game apps I have. Great app!

**Developer response:** Thanks brd, this review made my week!

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2024-04-15*

It’s rare to find a game that isn’t riddled with micro-transactions. Definitely worth purchasing the ad free version.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No support and terrible keyboard

*2024-06-16, version 3.40*

Would be a good game apart from the annoyingly tiny keyboard which even my 12 year old son can’t use. Support haven’t responded.

### 1/5 — Laggy keyboard

*2024-05-12, version 3.3*

Lovely concept and graphics, but for a word game where there is an emphasis on speed, the custom keyboard is a nightmare.

It is slow to respond, and sometimes will register the wrong key press (the iPhone keyboard does some special tricks to work out which is the most likely key press). This is nothing to do with the phone as it is running on an iPhone 14 Pro.

### 1/5 — Font and Screen Too Small

*2024-05-11, version 3.3*

Playing on an iPad mini, I cannot read the screen. The game may be fine, but I’ll never know.

### 1/5 — Can't actually 'type' using a keyboard

*2024-04-12, version 2.9*

I thought that as type and typing are mentioned in the app description that I might actually be able to do that on my iPad's physical keyboard but you have to use the virtual keyboard which isn't really typing...I can type fast but am rubbish on the virtual keyboard so this is really disappointing for me and I'm going to delete the app.

### 1/5 — Crashing on multiplayer

*2024-02-09, version 2.7*

I love this funny little game and I’d gladly pay for it, but whenever I host a room to play with friends, the game consistently crashes after a single digit number of plays. While I’m here, it’d be great to have the option to link with friends within the app and play games together without having to send room links by WhatsApp :)

### 1/5 — Stupid game

*2024-01-21, version 2.7*

This game doesn’t follow its own rules. I was playing against someone bad you had to have a word ending with Ned. I typed destined. My opponent typed in playability and bloody won!?!? How is that word needing with Ned? Make it make sense.

### 1/5 — English only users beware

*2023-12-22, version 2.2*

I’ve played about twelve rounds and the high point count always went to other language words. Further, when using Pythagorean it wasn’t accepted as a word. Not worth playing if my monolingual efforts aren’t good enough

### 1/5 — Restore Purchase Button Still Not Working

*2023-10-02, version 1.4.8*

First of all, I’d like to say that I appreciate the developers of Qwert replying to my review. 👍🏻

However, after the last game update I still can’t access the premium content I paid for and I keep getting ads at the end of the actual game modes.

I’ve updated to the most recent version of the game, I’ve tried deleting the game and reinstalling it and I’ve tried to restore my purchases to which the button doesn’t respond at all when you press it.

Please can you help me, developers?

### 1/5 — Liars

*2023-08-09, version 1.4.4*

This is garbage if it was really multiplayer live and had a chat between opponents then ya but lies are no fun so i hope it withers up soon how lazy can you be is it to much typing to code a actual multiplayer game and not just make it appear what its not

### 1/5 — cant figure out multiplayer

*2023-07-17, version 1.4.3*

me and my game pal attempted multiplayer. the invite link was ridiculous and we were botj stuck on the flying typewriter screen with no. game. my day is ruined. this was no fun
singleplaued mode is better
unkind regards

### 5/5 — Great Game 👍

*2026-02-07*

Fun, Entertaining, and enjoyable

### 5/5 — Good but

*2025-06-15*

The game is fun but why can’t they tell us when we are obviously playing against bots

### 5/5 — Love this game!

*2025-04-26, version 4.8*

I love playing this word game, it's not like anything I've ever seen! Super addicting! If you love words, you'll love this!

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2025-03-08, version 4.6*

Fun and challenging in a good way! Do miss the curtain animation though..

### 5/5 — So Much Fun!

*2024-12-30*

Genuinely one of the most fun words games ever! Every game mode is enjoyable and I love that there are both solo and multiplayer modes. The app is also extremely aesthetically appealing.

### 5/5 — Fun game, some of game modes could be improved

*2024-12-25*

I like the art style and music of the game, as well as diversity of game modes.

However - a few improvements that can be made:
#1 Splat game mode is good concept but kind of bad execution, even if I get rid of all bugs I can still run out of time and lose which doesn’t make sense. Also, if only consonants appear as bugs, there is no opportunity to make a word and you are just sitting there waiting.

#2 - time attack is fun but it doesn’t give you any sort of indication for the words that you missed - I feel like that would be helpful to improve your vocabulary once the round is over. Because there is no detailed stats about words and results, it makes the relatability of this game not feel worth it.

### 5/5 — fun game, butttttt...

*2024-12-01, version 4.6*

this is a really fun game, this is the type of word game im looking for, a short collection of super fun word games. however i wish that sentence case and cupid's arrow were also unlimited to play, and premium could just be for extra perks and all that stuff. or at the very least sentence case and cupids arrow could have limited plays per day

### 5/5 — Excellent word game

*2024-09-17, version 4.0*

I like word games and this is one of the best. A real time battle against AI or another player to create words over 5 rounds. Very enjoyable.

### 5/5 — There Seems To Be A Glitch, But The Game Is Stellar

*2024-07-29*

This is a fun, unusual, amusingly designed word game.

Originally I left a lower review because the glitch I describe below was frustrating. But I discovered I don’t have to reboot the iPad…just close the game and come back later. And there are my scores!

Earlier review: When I’ve played, in solo mode, the game ends, asked me to wait for results, then shows me an ad (both times for Monopoly Go).

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great for wordsmiths

*2024-07-20*

Excellent for extending your vocabulary and quick thinking.

I really want to know how the opponent works in the timed games. Especially what their words are?

When I’ve got 300 in a round from using words like swizzle and it’s variants and they’ve got 450, what words are they using that I’ve missed.

Splat is good too. You have to anticipate what letters are coming.
