It breaks down each individual R sound at the word, phrase or sentence level. The pictures are good and the kids enjoy this app. It's easy to use this app for multiple kids and the like that their picture is on the screen. Data tracking is easy and you can pull it up at any time. It's a great app and worth the money. It would be nice to be able to record and playback their productions… maybe in an upgrade? :) It's a great app and worth the money. ### 4/5 — Great App for /r/ *2013-10-16* My students really enjoy this app. It covers all the /r/ sounds and works well for students at all levels of production. Love the "guess what " game,as it is different from what you get in most articulation apps. This app mirrors the techniques shown in that program. The picture selection needs upgrading though. ### 4/5 — Pretty Good *2011-08-05* I like this app for my complex /r/ cases. Its nice to have a more in depth app to cover /r/. With this app I can target the specific vocalic /r/ variants that my students need. The pictures are not my favorite, but most of my students are a little older so its not really a problem for me. Tried to contact support, there is no email on file and no way to add one so support is unavailable. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2014-02-01, version 3.3* As an SLP using this for therapy I was disappointed that the students cannot record their productions for self monitoring. Also there are no minimal pairs available for discrimination training. This application is not worth the cost. ### 1/5 — Buyer beware *2011-12-14* This app has several pictures that may offend or scare kids. One word is vampire accompanied by a scary looking lady with black lips and a low cut dress. Escort has a picture of a convict being escorted by a police man. It is not possible to pick specific vocabulary so if you use /or/ or /ire/ you are stuck with the pictures. This app is also awkward to use. You have to score before moving to the next word. You can't back up. You can't pick sound positions within words. Artici pix has almost as many /r/ and is easier to use. There are none. They have never fixed the matching game (during group play the turns are set so a player turns over a card and another player looks for the match). ### 3/5 — Nice but could be better *2011-08-05, version 2.0* This has a nice selection of words, but would love to have a record option. It has a lot of words and I’m able to select what type of vocalic art I want to use with my students. I enjoy how it’s multiplayer, it keeps track of data, and I can choose the different levels of the target word. ### 5/5 — Easy to use *2019-04-29* I love to use this app as a companion to a game or other activity in therapy. I love that it groups the various /r/ sounds and doesn't lump them all together as a lot of activities do. The kids love using the iPad and will work to be able to use any of these apps. This app takes all the hard work away. The app is great and easy to use. I use these app the most when working on /r/! ### 5/5 — Great Tool for R therapy *2018-07-21* This app is my go to in my therapy sessions for that stubborn /r/. The app is really easy to navigate and offers plenty of images. I don’t need to carry any cards so all I need to bring is my iPad. I recommend R Intensive Pro to my parents and they can use it with ease as well. Love it! ### 5/5 — Something different for upper elem *2015-10-20* Pretty good if you need something more challenging for upper elementary kids working on /r/. The "guess it" section keeps them engaged if you have another open-ended token game to go with it. ### 5/5 — Great resource for the R! *2014-04-10* My speech students love to use this to break up the monotony of drill therapy. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I like that it addresses the r in all word positions as well as different levels (isolation, word level, etc.). I also like that it is compatible with the Therapy Report Center for data collection. The only thing I'd like added is the ability to record the student's productions. ### 5/5 — Intensive R is Great *2013-10-12* I am very glad I purchased Intensive R. It is a great option to use in articulation therapy when you have an R to correct. It contains three activities that you can use to work on any form of the R phoneme. Intensive R is well worth the money. ### 5/5 — Great R app *2013-05-11* I really enjoy having this app that I can add to my articulation arsenal for students working on /r/!
