### 3/5 — App resets all values when switching between apps. :(

*2012-11-24, version 1.2*

It resets all values if/when you switch between apps. :( Otherwise good.

### 2/5 — Weak!

*2012-09-08, version 1.2*

Doesn't let you specify more than 12 beers

### 2/5 — Not very good

*2010-10-04, version 0*

Its not every good if say you have been taking shots which is frequently in my case and it also doesn't make a distinction if say you have been drinking something made out of smirnoff vodka compared to Bacardi 101. Also, the BAC calculator is much better because it's pretty much the same thing but more detailed and it's also free.

### 2/5 — Bac

*2010-01-22, version 0*

Tolerance does not affect bac. So it doesn't matter if your an alcoholic you still should not drive with a high bac.

### 4/5 — Meh..pretty acurate

*2010-01-15, version 0*

Nice calculation system. The only thing that is off is if you have a high tolerance......I'm Irish....yea. 215lbs, 5 beers...2 hours....nothing. Other than that, this app is great for partiers!

### 4/5 — R U Buzzed

*2010-01-05, version 0*

Simple estimate based on empirical inputs

### 2/5 — Potentially dangerous app

*2009-12-30, version 0*

Caution: Read the Disclaimer carefully. Many people using this will get arrested for impaired driving. These calculators can easily be off by 200% for any given individual. One reason is that alcohol metabolism rates vary from person to person three to four fold. If you can feel the least bit high or buzzed, you are too impaired to drive safely. Importantly, though, people with high tolerance are typically unaware of when they are impaired. So, if you use the calculator and it says you are unsafe to drive, don't drive. On the other hand, just because the calculator says you are okay does not mean you really are.

The best part of the app is the call a cab feature.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2009-12-27, version 0*

I love this app!!! Nuff said!!

### 4/5 — Missing feature

*2009-12-05, version 0*

While I understand the limitations of a BAC calculator, one thing that is missing is a "I started drinking now" button. Thus elieviating the user to figure out the length of time on their own :)

### 3/5 — Thanks for this service! But...

*2009-12-03, version 0*

I just saw this on the news, and thought I'd give it a try, since personal breathalizers are so expensive. (The most accurate way to test; you can't cheat it! Check out mythbusters...) And I realize it is not meant to be legal evidence, but a guide. That's all right! We need more of those! However... There are many things it does not consider: metabolism (they said as much), individual's capacity, how much you ate, etc. (there must be others, but I can't think now). I know it's not medical! It doesn't have to be! But it could help as a "guide." Such as asking questions first as a sort of "personal profile" in the form of a QUICK simple "survey" so the program can get a sense of the person's particular... Make-up? I don't know what word to use. Things like what the person feels like with such and such drink under certain circumstances... OK- it's late, I can't think properly anymore. Hope I got my (long) points out clearly. *sorry*

In short (for me) it's WAY too sensitive! It basically says I'm wasted or buzzed when I hardly had anything... enough to affect ME. And don't worry, I'm VERY careful! One drink that does hardly anything for one person, could completely knock OUT another. Large gap there.

It gets one extra  for being free.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Archaic! NEEDS AN UPDATE!

*2023-05-18*

The app version is down right archaic! You need to update it VERY BADLY!

### 1/5 — No metric

*2017-02-26, version 2.1*

Waste of time using ancient lb and oz

### 1/5 — Cuts me off at 12 beers

*2015-08-15, version 1.2*

This app is ridiculous...it cuts me off at 12 beers no matter if I've been drinking for 3 hours or 5. Not worth a download.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2014-03-05, version 1.2*

Doesn't save information if you switch apps.

### 1/5 — Inflexible

*2012-08-20, version 1.2*

Use BACalculator way more customizable.

### 1/5 — No good

*2012-01-20, version 1.2*

This app assumes all beer all have the same alcohol content.

### 1/5 — Eh

*2011-07-11, version 1.2*

It doesn't give an eta on when you'll be sober enough to drive.

### 1/5 — Not accurate

*2010-10-10, version 0*

The results of this app are too high. All of the other ones show approximately .013 lower for exactly the same entries.

### 2/5 — Will get you in trouble

*2017-04-06, version 2.1*

No differentiation between different ABV drinks. No timer, it's up to you to adjust everything. If the app goes into the background, everything is lost and you have to reenter it. Absolutely not something I want to rely on. Especially if I'm going to be drinking... which is the point of the app.

### 2/5 — Meh.

*2014-01-15, version 1.2*

Really? Your app can't count my drinks if my phone sleeps? A marker and my arm are more useful.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-03-11, version 2.1*

Great app for a general idea. It's not 100% precise but it gets you in a general area of your intoxication level.

### 5/5 — Accurate!

*2014-09-30, version 1.2*

I used this app against a legit police breathalyzer. It was spot on accurate!

### 5/5 — Good estimates.

*2012-05-17, version 1.2*

Tolerance has NOTHING to do with your BAC. Try getting pulled over by a cop, blowing over the limit and telling him you have a high tolerance, so it's fine.

This app uses the same formula they teach you in DUI courses and should be used as a point of reference, not an exact science. Another review complains that the figures are to high. It's better if it says a slightly higher figure then lower for the intents and purposes of the app.

### 5/5 — great!

*2010-05-12, version 0*

free, easy, and it made my husband stop drinking on a night that he was going to drive and going to have a couple more. everyone should have this app!

### 5/5 — Don't trust.

*2010-01-02, version 0*

"Oh my God! This app killed Kenny! You basturds!"

### 5/5 — Love this App!

*2009-12-30, version 0*

Well done CDOT!!!!

### 5/5 — Not bad

*2009-12-26, version 0*

It calculates your drink on to see if you got your swerve on.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2009-12-25, version 0*

Way to go WebbPR

### 5/5 — R-U-Buzzed

*2009-12-06, version 0*

Great app. If you are too buzzed to use it, don't drive!

### 4/5 — Great app

*2011-09-15, version 1.2*

Gives you a good idea of where you stand. It just needs a post to Facebook button
