The execution of the app and website though is lacking and lunky. First time using it, I would get all the way to the end only to get the circle of death that it was trying to load something but never would. Also lacks instruction on how to use it. Finally got it to go through after about 7 tries. Almost gave up. ### 2/5 — iOS app needs work *2025-08-08, version 4.17* I took my first job yesterday, only the second I was notified about after signing up a few months ago. This app was incredibly frustrating to use. I think it may due to it being a cross platform code base, because something as simple as a text field should just work. Specifically the notes field was fighting me every step of the way by automatically backspacing, eliminating white space and therefore causing issues with autocorrect. Also, what’s up with the notes field being required for all checklist items? What if I have no additional notes? This whole process needs to be streamlined. The job took a lot longer than was promised in my text message and to fight with the app on top of that was a bit infuriating. I probably won’t take any more jobs until an app update fixes the glaring issues. ### 5/5 — Quality side gig for detail-oriented people *2023-03-24* My experience with R8TR has been professional, smooth and stressless. They offer inspection jobs, if you have time in your schedule, you accept them. Third part verification is a great way to determine if your investment is safe. ### 5/5 — Great hustle! *2023-03-24* As this company continues to grow, expanding with large corporate clients, there is already and will continue to be a big need for inspection of fleet vehicles, as well as personal vehicles. I have helped out for the past six months, and I’ve really enjoyed using this app and their platform. I look forward to many more years to come helping them grow this company. ### 3/5 — Lack of business *2020-08-21* As a previous car salesman/manager, the concept behind this app can be groundbreaking for users and for the industry, especially because a vast majority of people look to find their car buying options out of state as an option vs feeling trapped and forced to find what’s available nearby. Unfortunately there seems to be no jobs available anywhere, so I wonder if anyone is using this app besides just to try and make money. Seeing other reviews, I fortunately see that the app works perfectly fine for me besides the lack of any work. My advice to the developers here is to market not only to prospecting workers but maybe even dealers whether big or small who are trying to move inventory, have them advertise this as a way to view inventory and answer questions that they can’t themselves, in my experience I’m sure many of dealers out there are looking for ways to market their inventory to the public and save a penny or 2 doing it, since many of the platforms already available do pretty much the same thing but also have some type of buyers guarantee to save them in the event of any issues! All in all I’m 100% behind the idea just needs more attention and business to back it! Keep doing what you’re doing, I hope to see one day where I can log on and would have to fight just to grab a job in my local area! ### 5/5 — Great app for buyers and sellers *2020-06-24* Great app for someone who is looking at cars all over the country! Sign up , look for someone in the area of the vehicle your interested in, send them to evaluate the car for you and everyone gets what they want!!! I have rated cars and the app works well now that it has been fine tuned. It’s great to have another car guy check out a vehicle for you before your drive or fly hours to buy!! You have to enter your email address and password every time to login. This app doesn’t need to be fixed, it needs to be completely redone. There’s no way to speak with a representative and they never respond to emails! Run from R8TR ### 1/5 — Not worth your time as a R8TR *2022-02-07, version 1.0.9* The amount of time it takes to write a review is not worth the pay. Don’t waste your time. Also, I’m still waiting on my payment after 4 months after I performed my services. ### 1/5 — WARNING… you may be wasting your money by using this service *2021-09-05, version 1.0.9* Pretty much a garbage app. I used the service and the “inspection” service that was provided was only a few pics on exterior condition, very little detail on information about the car and it’s condition. I couldn’t select the vehicle inspector, it just automatically assigned me to one. I don’t know if he has any sort of credentials or just some kid off the street. I think it’s the later of the two from the zero lack of detail and information. ### 1/5 — Don’t Bother *2020-10-11* I was finally contacted for a job months after I downloaded and deleted the app then one day I get a text about a job. Went to do the job and the app froze when uploading the video and would not let me proceed even after uninstalling and reinstalling app. Rep said they received about 30 photos I sent and to skip video. After I was finished with inspection the rep contacted me hours later asking for a video that he told me to skip, I was long gone by then. Couple weeks later I contacted R8tr about compensation and they responded back very unprofessionally and said checks are mailed on the 15th and 1st. Two months later still no pay for the inspection. Don’t trust this app or the company it’s a scam. ### 1/5 — Is This Thing Even On? *2020-08-22* I get the concept behind the app and think it could be a hit. But, when you log in and there is nothing, it kinda makes you wonder. There is all this pomp and circumstance when you see their videos and read the reviews, they claim are from actual customers and r8ters. I’m just trying to figure out how much is real and how is smoke they are trying to blow you know where. Maybe this app isn’t ready for the mainstream and is only popular in certain parts of the country. Who knows. What I do know is that the company needs to do a better job convincing people to use the app in their respective areas and that they will eventually find something. And they need to show why this is app is better than anything else online for buying and selling cars, boats, etc. Seems like it’s all a flashy show so far. I also looked around for a straight answer about how much a r8tr is compensated but found nothing. The team at R8TR reached out to me, and the next thing I know I had a side hustle inspecting vehicles / Vans. The R8TR team are great and walk you through the entire process and provide all you would need to get the inspection(s) done.
