### 2/5 — Racingpost

*2026-08-24, version 46.22.0*

Way too many adverts… app grinds to a halt all the time…way too many stories hidden behind subscription… I look out of habit but others racing apps much better

### 3/5 — Great info, terrible performance.

*2026-08-11, version 45.14.12*

The app is one of my favourites for articles and information. However the performance and responsiveness is terrible, when are you going to update this so it doesnt constantly freeze and refresh?? Its very frustrating. Also god knows why the live typed commentary was taken away, that was SO good and got rid of for no reason.

### 4/5 — Frequency

*2026-07-12, version 45.14.12*

It should be five stars for the Post, but since I am now asked to do this daily, the stars will diminish!!

### 2/5 — Improvements

*2026-07-08, version 45.14.12*

The app is very slow when I’m changing to a different page, can sometimes take up to 5 seconds to change. Sometimes I think it hasn’t worked so press again and then it jumps to another page

### 3/5 — Ok but search option fault

*2026-06-27, version 45.14.12*

It’s ok but can you sort the search function out on the app mine comes back with no results everytime I type a horse or jockey etc

### 1/5 — Appalling

*2026-06-26, version 45.14.12*

Slowest App ever to have been created-constantly & I mean CONSTANTLY buffering -pages always defaulting to the home page when you toggle away. Absolutely shocking customer service- non existent- why waste your time?!?

### 3/5 — Racing not playing at most meetings, and keep getting logged out

*2026-06-26, version 45.14.12*

Sick to death of being logged out, and live racing not being played at most meetings, having to going on my Ladbrokes app to watch the racing

### 1/5 — Not worth £50/month

*2026-06-02, version 45.14.8*

OK I’ve had enough of paying a substantially high price for an app that is not only mediocre, but has also become slow and unreliable.

1. Despite being an Ultimate member, 90% of the notifications I click, take me to a page which remains behind a paywall, telling me I can subscribe to access the content. And yes, I am logged in.
I shouldn’t then have to click back to the homepage, and then navigate the app to find the article which the notification should have taken me to in the first place.
2. The app has become increasingly slow over the last 12 months or so. User experience should come first - not ads for gambling site adverts.
3. If I’m paying £50/month I should not be inundated with Ads. There should at least be an option to opt out of seeing them.
4. This is the Racing Post. The year is 2026. And we STILL cannot manage horses in our Tracker via the mobile app. This is absolutely shameful.
5. Constant logouts. I suggest changing the session time to at least 30 days. Having to login every couple of days is ridiculous.
6. Annoyingly keep being redirected to homepage after clicking through to a horses profile from a race card: clicking back should go back to the race you were viewing previously, not to the homepage, requiring you to then navigate back to the race you were viewing again.
7. On occasion when clicking back from a horses profile to the race you were viewing, it does indeed take you back to that race - but it always scrolls right back to the top of the race. Another annoying thing to note.

Whilst I note the Tracker on mobile is likely a big task, you’ve had YEARS to bring the app up to date and appear to have made zero progress in this regard.

Bugs and UI/UX however; there is absolutely no excusing.

At the end of this season my subscription will not be renewed unless I see huge improvements to the development of the Racing Post mobile app.

I would also urge everyone else to consider doing the same. Perhaps when revenue is damaged they might actually pull their fingers out and give us something that’s worth the money.

### 1/5 — Deleted

*2026-05-29, version 45.14.8*

Can’t log in despite £50/month sub, given up, will just use browser instead

### 2/5 — Video error message

*2026-05-26, version 45.14.8*

I’m sick of this app showing an error message instead of streaming a race. Incredibly frustrating. Seems to apply mostly (only?) to races broadcast on RTV but that’s a lot of races and you just never know if it’s going to work.

### 1/5 — Beyond rubbish app

*2026-05-06, version 45.14.7*

An absolute joke of an app in this day and age. Has a mind of its own, clunky beyond belief, makes dissecting the form painstakingly laborious and feels like a chore. Seriously, it’s put me right off the game because there’s no genuine attempts to make it a great app again. They go on about affordability checks driving punters away, I’d say a totally garbage app is doing more so and it’s definitely NOT going to attract more racing punters. Totally SHAMELESS people at the RP who don’t seem to care either palming us off with this not fit for purpose, sad excuse they call for an app.

Since the transition to the Spotlight Sports Group model, many users have pointed out a few specific reasons for this decline:
Bloatware: The app now carries heavy affiliate links and "next-generation" features that often result in slower load times and a cluttered interface compared to the original, streamlined versions.
Monetisation over UX: There is a perception that the design now serves the bookmakers (through betting prompts) more than the punters who want quick access to form and cards.
Standardisation: In an effort to make the tech stack work across multiple brands (like MyRacing or Free Super Tips), the unique, "slick" feel of the bespoke Racing Post app was sacrificed for a more generic framework.
Despite the heavy criticism on app stores, the developers have largely stuck to this "betting hub" strategy because it generates more revenue than the traditional subscription model alone.

### 1/5 — Constant refresh!!!

*2026-04-18, version 45.13.0*

Why oh why does the app constantly refresh? And it drops back to the home page randomly …it’s so frustrating and unnecessary!
Could be good but isn’t

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Racing post

*2026-08-25, version 46.22.0*

Why not show entries on the app for trainers, rather then having to use google to see entries??

### 1/5 — Frustrated

*2026-08-25, version 46.22.0*

Totally agree with above review . An Ultimate subscriberconsistently locked out if Ultimate content.

### 1/5 — Slow and frustrating

*2026-08-13, version 45.14.12*

Terribly slow, always has to re load a page if you move from say news to a race and back, just a frustrating app that needs constantly shutting down and reloading to achieve any speed when navigating. I assume this is done on purpose to encourage people to pay for the unlimited version.

### 1/5 — worst app ever never get nothing right

*2026-08-07, version 45.14.12*

it’s pitty you didn’t get paid for picking losers this would be the best app ever

### 1/5 — Slow

*2026-07-31, version 45.14.12*

The site is slow, results are slower than other sites, not a great deal to read unless they fleece you with about £40 a month but I still love the Racing Post app

### 1/5 — harassment

*2026-07-27, version 45.14.12*

Why every time
need rating after bet😖

### 1/5 — Once great now horrible garbage

*2026-07-11, version 45.14.12*

This used to be the best racing app, objectively. Fun text commentary, easy to view racing…

For some reason, progressively over time it’s gone to the point of being unusable. The UI is so bad, might be the worst UI of any app ever, there is no text chat function, no radio function… it’s simply an app to push affiliates / gambling and like the owners pocket.

Do not recommend. Use the browser or any of their competitors. I’d rate 0 if I could

### 1/5 — Why bother

*2026-07-02, version 45.14.12*

So annoying virtually any story and you have to subscribe. Hardly worth going on nowadays

### 1/5 — R

*2026-07-02, version 45.14.12*

I used to buy a paper a day when it was£1.80or less and loved it. I’m sorry to say I feel ripped off now
I am a member but I pick and choose when I sign in
I don’t need it for tips
I like it for breeding and racing
Thank you

### 1/5 — Slow

*2026-07-02, version 45.14.12*

Very slow a lot of the time, video of racing just goes black screen. Then have to close app and re open again. Sometimes 3 times for it to work.
