## What is Rack?

Turn your watch into a strength training powerhouse - with intelligence no other app has.

Rack is the only strength training app that combines real-time watch integration with per-muscle-group recovery intelligence. Track from your wrist. Get pre-workout readiness briefs. Let Rack learn how your body responds to training - and watch its recommendations get smarter with every session.

ON YOUR WRIST
Hot-Swap - equipment taken mid-workout? Swap any exercise without stopping your activity. Your watch keeps counting. Both exercises are recorded. No workarounds. No data loss.

DataBuffer - phone in your locker. Basement gym. No signal. Rack queues every set directly on your watch and syncs the moment you reconnect. Nothing is lost.

Training Readiness that knows you did leg day. Rack records your workouts as proper Strength activities - feeding your Training Load and Training Readiness correctly.

INTELLIGENCE BUILT ON YOUR DATA

Pre-Workout Brief: readiness score, per-muscle recovery status, and load balance analysis - before every session. Not generic advice. Specific to what you lifted, when, and how much.

Training Alerts: Rack watches for volume imbalances, unusual load spikes, and patterns that precede plateaus. You get flagged before problems become setbacks.

The longer you train with Rack, the more it learns about your body. No auto-pilot. Your data, your decisions.

### 5/5 — Loving Rack More Every Day! .

*2026-10-21*

Thank you, Noah, for your response and for taking the time to address my concerns!
I’m enjoying Rack more and more every day as I continue learning how to use all its features. I especially love how well it integrates with my Garmin watch!
One feature I would absolutely love to see is short demonstration videos for each exercise, showing how to perform the movements correctly. This would be incredibly helpful when learning new exercises and would make the app even better!
Thank you again for your support and for continuously improving Rack. I’m excited to see what’s coming next!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the detailed list, Carola, and for wanting to stick with Rack.

In order:
1. On the FR965, swiping left on the exercise screen jumps to the next exercise without asking. The skipped exercise is still in the workout, and the up/down buttons take you back to it. I think that's what happened to your abs, but I'd like to confirm it with you.

2. On the current watch version, holding START a bit too long can open the Finish screen. The next watch update in the Connect IQ store makes that much harder to trigger by accident.

3 and 4. Cardio you record in Rack is saved. But the current iPhone version leaves some of it out of your stats and calendar, and a run logged inside a routine is listed in History under that routine's name. The next iPhone update is in Apple's review now. It counts that cardio in your stats, and review usually takes a few days.

Could you email support@rackstrength.com? I'd like to dig into the vanishing exercise with you directly,

Noah

### 3/5 — Great concept, but serious workout tracking issues.

*2026-10-15*

I use Rack with my Garmin Forerunner 965, and I really like the concept of creating workouts and following them directly from my watch.

Unfortunately, I’ve been experiencing several frustrating issues:

1. Exercises and sets sometimes disappear during an active workout. Today, my abdominal exercise disappeared after I completed the first set, before I could start the second.
2. My workout unexpectedly ended or closed before I finished.
3. Cardio activities recorded through Rack are not appearing correctly in my workout history or statistics, even though my Garmin connection is enabled.
4. I’ve checked the app and web version, but I still cannot find the missing cardio records.

I really want to keep using Rack because it has great potential, but these issues make it difficult to trust my workout tracking.

Could you please investigate these problems, especially the Garmin synchronization and missing exercise records?

I would be happy to update my rating to five stars once these issues are resolved.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the detailed list, Carola, and for wanting to stick with Rack.

### 5/5 — Great option to Hevy for Garmin Users

*2026-07-06*

I used to use Hevy to log my weight workouts with the Apple Watch companion app until I switched to a Garmin watch. Then I was stuck logging my workouts on both my watch and Hevy since Hevy doesn’t have a Garmin companion app and they have said publicly that they have no intention of supporting Garmin. Luckily I found this app with does the same thing but is for Garmin. Now I can log my workouts on my watch like I used to. Also, you can send your workouts to your watch and log them completely without a phone which you can’t do on Hevy that I know of. A great Hevy / Garmin alternative!

Not to mention, you can import your Hevy workouts into the app so you don’t have to start from scratch!

**Developer response:** This is the exact story I hoped to hear Ernie, thank you for taking the time to write it. Coming from a Garmin watch and being stuck double-logging in Hevy was the Rack exists, and I'm really glad the Hevy import let you pick up where you left off instead of starting over. Enjoy logging straight from your watch, and reach out anytime!

### 4/5 — Amazing App — Please Add German Language Support

*2026-05-09*

This app is honestly amazing for strength training and Garmin integration. The analytics, recovery tracking, and workout insights are super well done and easy to use. You can really tell a lot of thought went into the experience.

The only downside for me is that the app is currently not available in German. A German language option would make it perfect. Hopefully this gets added in a future update!

**Developer response:** Hi Steff1203, thank you for taking the time to write this, it really matters.

German support is something we're actively evaluating, and a public review like yours genuinely moves it up the priority list.

Danke for using Rack.

Update: Added in the latest version, might not be perfect, but I hope you'll enjoy it!

### 5/5 — App terrible

*2026-05-06*

The app will random kick you off, can't get to connect to Strava by far one of the worst strength training app I have used

**Developer response:** Hey Wyatt, founder here.

The kick-outs shouldn't happen, and that one's on me to fix. If you can email support@rackstrength.com with your watch model and roughly when it crashed, I'll trace the logs and push a fix.

Strava is paused right now while I sort out a partner-side issue. It's coming back. Sorry the timing landed on you.

Thanks for the honest feedback. I read every reply.

### 5/5 — Does what I need it to!

*2026-04-15*

I had been searching for an app that worked with my Garmin watch that would make building workouts easier, but also allow me to see the required weight I programmed with each movement on watch so that I could stop fiddling with my phone at the gym. This app solved both problems! The developer has also been fast to reply to found bugs and has been fast to fix them. Over all no complaints so far!

**Developer response:** Thank you!

You named some of the main pain points I built Rack for: programming a session once, and seeing the target weight on the watch so your phone stays in your gym bag between sets. Glad it's landing that way.

Keep the bug reports coming. If something ever feels off - a sync hiccup, a missing exercise, a set that didn't register, please reach out!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-04-12*

"I have been using the app since day one and am absolutely thrilled. Anyone who wants to use their Garmin in the gym should definitely try it out; you will quickly realize how well a Garmin can actually work in the gym. Additionally, the developer is super nice and answers all questions or suggestions very quickly. Definitely 5 stars from me! Keep up the good work."

**Developer response:** This means a lot, thank you! Feedback like yours is what keeps this thing moving forward. Plenty more coming for Garmin in the gym, stay tuned 💪

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.11 — 2026-10-22

Faster
History opens faster, and tapping to log a set responds faster. The set arrows on iPhone work again.

Phone and watch stay in step
Weight and rep changes you make on the phone now reach the watch, and an older confirmation from the watch no longer overwrites them.

Programs
You can now end an active program. After a sync the phone keeps exactly one active program, so a program saved by your coach or through Rack's AI connector is the one your watch opens. A scheduled routine no longer interrupts a workout already running on the watch.

Routines
Group routines into folders.

Imports
Fitbod imports no longer turn a weight multiplier into extra sets. Hevy imports now work on phones set to a language other than English.

Guest data
Tapping Not Now on the paywall no longer erases a guest's workouts, and starting fresh now asks you to confirm first.

Coach chat
Long-press a message to report it. Block & Disconnect in the chat menu ends the coaching connection.

### 2.1.10 — 2026-09-26

Sets land on the right exercise.
A set could be written against a different exercise than the one you logged it under, and a per-set weight could be dropped on the way. Both fixed.

Garmin
Connecting Garmin no longer pushes your imported history into Garmin Connect. The upload queue stops re-sending sessions it already delivered, and two uploads for the same workout can no longer overlap. Work time and calories are measured from your actual sets, and heart rate no longer bleeds in from before a set started.

On the watch
The rest screen shows the reps for the set you are about to do instead of the warm-up's. A timed hold sends how long to hold rather than a rep count.

Imports
A retried import no longer saves everything twice, and an imported workout is no longer saved in a state that keeps it out of your history.

Building routines
Swap an exercise without rebuilding the routine. Timed exercises stay timed in the builder, and a timed set no longer arrives with a rep target it should not have. Weight carries forward when a set has no target of its own.

Steadier
Fixed a sync loop that could rebuild your whole library on every pull and leave the app stalled. Fixed a crash that could follow deleting a routine or a workout.

### 2.1.9 — 2026-08-20

New home screen. A 3D muscle map shows what you've trained and what's recovered, and you can drag sessions around the week.

Fit Score: one number for cardio, consistency and strength, with a breakdown of exactly which inputs are missing. Dumbbell lifts now score, per hand.

AI Coach is a status briefing now, not a menu.

Workouts imported from Hevy and Strong link to the exercise catalog, so they count toward strength scoring instead of sitting as one-off rows.

Fixed a launch crash, and a case where a full device left the app unable to start.

Home opens faster and no longer redraws while idle. On the watch, back and undo no longer freeze or log a set to the wrong exercise.

### 2.1.5 — 2026-07-09

- Garmin watch: full offline workout support on compact watches, so you can track every set, rep, and rest without your phone nearby and sync it all to Garmin Connect afterward.
- Smoother rest timer on the watch, with cleaner set confirmation and superset labeling.
- Routine sync is now safer: your exercises and cardio blocks stay put after a workout instead of ever getting dropped.
- More reliable Garmin Connect uploads, including workouts queued while offline.
- Fixed app imports that could fail to load your history.
- Fixed editing an existing program so your changes hydrate correctly.
- Various stability and performance improvements.

### 2.1.3 — 2026-07-01

REDESIGNED HOME
- A personalized dashboard: resume an active workout, jump into today's program, see recent PRs, and get a recap after every session.

BETTER WORKOUTS
- Per-exercise navigation with live heart rate and quick RPE logging
- Muscle-activation heatmap for each session
- Auto-progression and training-max suggestions when you finish
- PR celebration with a shareable workout card

TIGHTER GARMIN SYNC
- Send a routine to your watch straight from Home
- Per-set target weights now carry to the watch
- Per-set heart rate flows back to Garmin Connect
- Connect IQ update banner and smoother re-auth

PROGRESS & INSIGHTS
- Full analytics screen and exercise progression charts
- Calendar heatmap of your trained days
- On-device insights and plateau detection to catch stalls early

RELIABILITY
- Fixed rare crashes (workout data, keychain on a locked device, watchworkout saving and Garmin sync more durable.
