### 2/5 — Horrible App

*2026-03-19*

My 10yo could design a better app. It crashes. Doing searches doesn’t do any good, it still brings up the whole dang store. No autofills for check out. If the 90s had apps this would be it!!! Clunky!!!

### 2/5 — Buggy App

*2025-12-02*

The app doesn’t work well and is very buggy.

### 2/5 — Not bad but could be a lot better

*2025-03-31*

The app does seem to do its job, but it’s in a desperate need of an overhaul. It’s menus are vary old school design. And it doesn’t feel like an office app. Additionally most store apps offer sore reason to keep the app download such as a shortcut to your loyalty card or app exclusive rewards. Making the web version almost better.

### 2/5 — App

*2025-01-25*

I love Rack Room shoes store but the app needs to fix. I can’t never log in to my account without getting an error message.

### 1/5 — Bad app and website

*2024-06-25, version 3.4.20*

It was so hard checking out at the web page, I could not make my order, because it would say that I didn’t enter a delivery address. So I went to the app which is pretty bad as well as the web site and I got a different amount for shipping. 😒

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-06-21, version 3.4.20*

Doesn’t load, constantly freezes and it’s not easy to filter by what you’re looking for. Don’t bother saving things to your wish list because you will never find it again.

### 1/5 — How does an app this bad get made

*2024-05-13, version 3.4.20*

Not only does this app take forever to load anything. There also appears to be no way to log in with an existing account. This app is completely useless at the moment.

### 1/5 — This app should be banned

*2024-04-27, version 3.4.20*

The worst app I have ever used in my entire life. Website is unusable either.

### 1/5 — Slow

*2024-04-15*

This app takes waaaaaayyyy too long to load. It has to load up every time you make a filter. Like click womens- Load 20 minutes- then click shoe type - Load 19 minutes- then if you are still trying the app you try filtering to size it’s another 21 minutes. If you get past that then you see the shoes in the gender, type, and size you want. However, once you click on a shoe to see more and try to go back it’s another loading period of 15 minutes. I don’t have time for this app.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2024-03-28, version 3.4.20*

After inputting my login credentials it continually sent me to create an account when I very much already have an account. It didn’t matter if I used my Email or phone number associated with the account. App definitely needs some work.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2024-03-02, version 3.4.20*

I have deleted the app and reloaded twice. Every time I try to login in it says bad credentials. I can login to the website fine.

### 1/5 — Makes Online Shopping a HEADACHE

*2024-02-24, version 3.4.20*

I don’t usually leave reviews for apps, but I had to leave one for this app. It’s HORRIBLE! It’s slow, it hardly ever opens the first time I try. I always just end up giving up and going to the store, or trying the website (which is just as bad).

### 1/5 — Fix the app

*2024-01-22, version 3.4.20*

The app won’t open. It stays on the “logging in” page. Guess I’ll order from some other website.

### 1/5 — From Bad to Worse

*2024-01-05*

Don’t waste your time downloading this app. I only downloaded it because the Rack Room site is so bad - it’s soooo slow & freezes up constantly. But the app is even worse. When I opened the app, the screen read “AUTHORIZING” (in the classic Rack Room orange) on top of 20+ rolling lines of weird computer language. When it stopped rolling, nothing happened so I selected “Try Again”. (Spoiler: that’s all there is to the app - a big orange “Try Again” button.) After trying this a few times, a new message appeared: “Multiple attempts to authorize connection to services have failed. Please wait a moment & try again…..Reason provided: Forbidden”. Look, I just wanted to browse some shoes - not gain access to closely guarded shoe secrets. From reading the reviews, this app has had issues for months. How can a company (esp a large one like RR) allow this app to still be offered with their name attached to it?

### 1/5 — Does not work!

*2023-12-10, version 3.4.20*

Your app never loads and also didn't show my purchases. Wish it did work because I love your store

### 1/5 — This app is awful

*2023-11-25, version 3.4.20*

Never loads simply spins and times out. Stupid Rack room loves you message while spinning. If you love your customers, fix the app

### 1/5 — App doesn’t load

*2023-11-19, version 3.4.20*

Can’t even shop on the app. It doesn’t load the shopping page. Smh.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible website and app

*2026-03-07, version 4.0.7*

The app and website constantly says, bad credentials, despite changing and re changing my password. Looks like the tech people suck here as this has been an ongoing issue.

### 1/5 — Worst App

*2025-12-11*

Probably the worst app I’ve ever experienced. I can’t even use the BOGO Version on my purchases. Back to the actual website I go. A true rip off.

### 1/5 — The bugs

*2025-09-01*

There are glitches, there are bugs, and then there is the Rack Room Shoes app update paradox — a cruel, infinite cycle of despair that has redefined my understanding of patience, loyalty, and human suffering. I never thought a shoe app — a simple retail app designed to help me buy sneakers, track rewards, and browse deals — would send me spiraling into an endless abyss of false promises and shattered hope. And yet, here I am, writing the longest review imaginable, because brevity cannot contain the depth of my frustration.

Every time I open the app, I am greeted not with convenience, not with shopping, not with rewards, but with a wall of text: “Please update to continue.” This is not a suggestion. This is not a gentle reminder. This is a command, a law, a digital iron gate blocking my entrance to the world of footwear. And so, like an obedient customer, I obey. I tap “Update.” The App Store opens. My heart races. My eyes scan for the sacred blue button that says “Update.” But what do I see? Nothing. The button doesn’t say “Update.” It says “Open.”

This is the cruel joke of the Rack Room Shoes app: it demands an update that does not exist. It insists upon a reality that is not real. It gaslights me into believing that maybe I missed something, maybe I need to refresh, maybe I need to restart, maybe I need to delete and reinstall, maybe I need to pray to the gods of iOS, maybe I need to bargain with the digital spirits of the cloud. But no matter what I do, no matter how many times I refresh, restart, reinstall, re-login, or re-anything, the same loop awaits me: Update required → App Store says Open → Open → Update required again. Over and over. Forever.

Do you understand what “forever” feels like in the digital age? It’s not an hour. It’s not a day. It’s not even a week. Forever in the digital age is measured in taps, in loops, in refreshes, in wasted minutes that turn into wasted hours. It is measured in hope rising and hope crashing. Hope that maybe this time the update button will appear. Hope that maybe this time the app will work. Hope that maybe this time I will actually be allowed to shop for shoes. And yet, each time, I am crushed. The update does not exist. The cycle continues.

This is not an app anymore. This is a metaphor. This is an allegory for futility. Rack Room Shoes has accidentally created the modern version of the myth of Sisyphus — except instead of pushing a boulder up a hill, I am pushing my thumb against the screen of my phone, trapped in an endless loop of update requests that lead nowhere. I am the digital Sisyphus, cursed not by gods, but by developers who failed to sync their app version with the App Store.

And let us not forget what the Rack Room Shoes app promises. It promises easy shopping. It promises rewards tracking. It promises convenience. It promises curbside pickup, browsing catalogs, finding local stores, and exclusive deals. But all of these promises are locked away behind an invisible update that never arrives. Imagine being told you have a golden ticket, but when you get to the factory, the gatekeeper says, “Sorry, you must update your ticket first,” only for you to find out the update booth is empty. That is what this app does. It offers paradise and delivers purgatory.

Now, let me expand this into the scale it deserves. Because this issue is not small. This issue is not limited to me. This is a systemic failure. If even one customer cannot use the app because of this false update loop, that means the system is broken. And broken systems reflect broken priorities. Did nobody test this before forcing it live? Did nobody open the app on a random iPhone and check whether the App Store actually had the update? Did nobody think about the frustration of a loyal customer locked out of their own account, their own rewards, their own shopping experience?

I tried everything. I tried refreshing. I tried swiping down in the App Store like it was a magic ritual. I tried restarting my phone, as if rebooting my device would reboot reality. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, losing all my saved logins in the process, only to end up back in the same cursed loop. I even tried ignoring the app for a while, hoping time itself would heal the wound. But no. Time only deepened the cycle. The Rack Room Shoes app remains in its eternal state of contradiction.

And the psychological toll is real. I no longer trust the word “Update.” When I see “Update” in any other app, I flinch. I question reality. I wonder if I am about to be trapped again. This app has given me digital trust issues. It has scarred my relationship with technology. All because I wanted to shop for shoes.

Let’s also talk about wasted potential. Rack Room Shoes could have had one of the best retail apps out there. A place to check local store inventory, earn rewards, get exclusive discounts, and make shoe shopping seamless. But instead of building trust, they built frustration. Instead of creating loyalty, they created resentment. Instead of making me want to shop, they made me want to uninstall. And yet, even uninstalling doesn’t help, because reinstalling only leads me right back into the cycle.

This app is like a door that says “Push” but won’t budge no matter how hard you shove. It’s like a vending machine that eats your dollar and gives you nothing. It’s like a teacher who keeps saying, “Turn in your homework,” but when you hand it in, they say, “No, you need the newer version of this homework that doesn’t exist yet.”

At this point, I am convinced this app is less of a shopping tool and more of a social experiment. How long will a human keep trying to update something that cannot be updated? How long before they break? Well, congratulations, Rack Room Shoes — I broke. You win. You pushed me into leaving this endless, ultra-long review because words are all I have left. I cannot shop. I cannot check my points. I cannot browse deals. All I can do is complain.

So here is my complaint, stre

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-08-14*

Low quality

### 1/5 — Trouble logging in

*2025-07-07*

Hate the app. Like the store. I’ve logged in multiple times and had to change my password so many times due to the app logging me out of my account. No matter what I do, a banner will pop up saying “BAD CREDENTIALS” when I’m simply logging in my information. I don’t understand how such a big corporation like Rack Room can have an app like this.

### 1/5 — App needs work!!!!!

*2025-01-23*

Hate the App! It doesn’t work! You can’t use the filter at all

### 1/5 — Don’t even think about it

*2024-12-14*

The store is good but the website and this app is horrible to try and work with

### 1/5 — Agree with other comments

*2024-10-12*

LOVE THE STORE!!! HATE THE APP!!

It looks like the app has been updated, but before it was I was having issues with signing in, I even emailed the company and I think I wrote a review then. Just now when I went on the app I thought to myself maybe since it’s been updated I won’t have a problem signing in, boy was I mistaken. I went to sign in a banner popped up on the sign in screen and it say BAD CREDENTIALS. I even tried changing my password and still the same thing. This issue has been going on for months!
PLEASE FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE and FIX PLEASE 🙏🏼

### 1/5 — I love the store; Hate the app

*2024-09-24*

The app has soooooooo many bugs. I have issues logging in, saving items, and even purchasing items. It makes it so difficult. I cannot right now retrieve my purchase history.

I’m not an app developer or webmaster but RRS must do better in their IT Department. Business wise you can potentially lose so much money for not having a shopping app work properly.

### 1/5 — don’t bother using this

*2024-08-24*

customer support recommends their web site and that’s just as bad. i’m so frustrated i don’t even want to talk about it. go to another store it’s easier.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Would love to buy the products, but it doesn’t let you!

*2025-01-29*

I love Rack Room Shoes, I also love the app as well, I shop online often, but when I came across to an item called Bogg Bag, they are very nice rubber tote bags, your not even able to buy them, yet they show all of them on the app, I see that they have them in some store locations, but they are no where near me, and I would love to buy the Bogg Bag, it’s very frustrating because I can go and buy a Bogg Bag from a different company, but I want to order from you guys, it’s like a tease. Rack Room, if you’re seeing this review, if you could make the Bogg Bags available to order online, I would love that and I would order one right away!

### 5/5 — Good app and shoes I recommend

*2022-04-01, version 3.3.10*

for me it works well so far I really like the shoes they sell in this store I love

### 5/5 — Great price shoes

*2017-09-30, version 1.3.0*

I’m not a computer engineer so I don’t have any idea what I’m talking about but this app does what it’s supposed to allows me to see my points and they have great sales good quality shoes and free shipping

### 5/5 — Easy access to rewards!

*2017-01-11, version 1.0.5*

Love this app! It makes seeing my rewards so much simpler than before. Seeing my purchase history is great too so I can easily reorder my husband's favorite shoes.

### 4/5 — Working good

*2024-11-14*

for me it’s all good, scrolls good, doesn’t move by itself, nothing like the reviews im seeing. I also highly recommend the shoes. for me they look really cute, im not really an online shopper. but i just check around and im not sure if the reviews of buying shoes are true or not, but for now it’s working all fine

### 4/5 — Suggestion - Make Wishlist Available in App

*2019-02-24, version 1.5.2*

I have no complaints regarding the functionality of the app, except the inability to access my wishlist. I downloaded the app to have the wishlist handy, and it isn’t there. It would be a great addition to an update.

### 3/5 — Lacks order/package tracking

*2025-06-09*

The app is ok but it does not give any details on order status or package tracking after making a purchase.

### 3/5 — You almost had me back

*2022-08-10, version 3.4.10*

Wow! I deleted you because of the Incompetence of the app and decided I try you again — everything was so quick it was awesome — until you said you’d send me my log-in info. Never got it — then when I went to shop it wouldn’t even load … fire your web manager and spend some money on a quick sight please!

### 3/5 — the app does not load

*2022-06-30, version 3.4.00*

the app sometimes doesn't work

### 3/5 — Easy to crash the app...

*2020-04-10, version 2.1*

Hello. Certain characters (such as: \ [ ] <> …) instantly crash the app, if the user runs a search for them.

While this isn’t that huge of a deal, other common characters (such as: € and £) also crash the app. Please fix if possible.
