### 4/5 — Pretty Good With One Flaw

*2024-12-30, version 1.6*

I’ve been using this calculator for a while and while it does the job, the inability to change the color or the plates bugs me. For the plates that are colored yellow, it’s hard to see the number on the plate. They should change the font color on the plate markings to black instead of white so that the numbers are visible. White on yellow just isn’t very visible.

### 2/5 — Be honest….

*2022-04-22, version 1.6*

If every option is going to be an upgrade just be honest about it. I got this thinking that I could use it to calculate the plates I needed. Everything was a premium upgrade. Obviously they just care about the money. Keep moving on….

### 4/5 — Good not great

*2022-04-01, version 1.6*

Great for the free version but gotta say I had hoped paid would have more features.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2021-01-14, version 1.6*

The rep range tool is really useful and worth the low cost for the app.

### 4/5 — Simple and works

*2020-11-21, version 1.6*

Has the features I need and is easy to use. One suggestion is to add a prep warning signal near the end of the rest session so you’re reminded to get ready before the work session starts.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2020-11-13, version 1.6*

I wish I knew about this app sooner! The app works very well and is a huge time saver. I want to focus on lifting during my workout, not math. The premium version is well worth it. I have several different bars that I use and the premium version lets me easily add them to my inventory and select them for loading. Easy and intuitive to navigate. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-10-12, version 1.6*

Gym math is hard mid-workout. This app takes all the thinking out of it.

The only request I have is to have a blended inventory setting to have both kg and lbs in plates due to what’s available in a gym sometimes. Like I want to calculate 150lbs using both metric and imperial plates I have available.

### 2/5 — This app HAS Potential..BUT

*2020-08-12, version 1.6*

I downloaded the free version to check it out. I liked it, but I have a #35 bar that I use for overhead movements and so I purchased the upgrade. When I load #155 on the bar (45&15’s on each side plus the 35lb bar) it works great. But when I move to #185 it says I don’t have the inventory. I guess it will not remove the 45’s and replace them with 35’s 25’s and 15’s to make it work. If I remove the 45’s from inventory it works, but I should not have too. The app should save me time. The app does not work properly and until the bugs are fixed, I have to give it 2 stars. If this is fixed this will be a 5 star app no doubt.

### 3/5 — Bar weight

*2020-07-30, version 1.6*

So I go to planet fitness and I don’t think their bar starts off at 45lbs but it starts off at 25lbs.I need to accurately weigh out my weights and I paid for the upgrade but I can change the weight of the bar!!

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2019-12-19, version 1.6*

I love this app. I use it before every CrossFit workout to plan what plates I’m going to need for my lifts. My ability to do simple math goes down the harder the workout. This app takes away that problem - it’s visual, just load the plates it’s showing you. There’s a ton of great features in this app as well. An excellent app, well thought out and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Simple and easy

*2019-12-05, version 1.6*

Just the perfect app for what it is supposed to do! Simple and easy

### 5/5 — Calculates simply

*2019-11-06, version 1.4*

A great free weight calculator. No adds and free. Gets the job done and free. Did I mention free of adds and $$$free$$$.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2019-09-24, version 1.4*

I never write reviews. Ever. I’m not a math wiz....especially after powering through heavy squats. I don’t want to think much and just get my plates right. This app does it all. Pick a weight and it shows the plates you need. Pick your plates and it shows weight your at. Need to figure 91% of your 5 rep training max? It does it. Need to add collars? Yup. Need to convert lbs to kg on the fly? yup yup. I always keep it open when I lift.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not helpful if you are looking for free option.

*2023-07-24, version 1.6*

Just use chatGPT instead.

I wanted something that would help me keep up with what weight is on the bar.
Everything you tap on is “upgrade to premium”.

### 1/5 — Pink Tax

*2021-08-24, version 1.6*

So if you’re a woman you have to pay for the app so you can use the calculator with a 35lbs bar. That seems flawed.

### 1/5 — Incessant requests for reviews

*2021-04-14, version 1.6*

In spite of the fact that I have in app review requests disabled, the app continues to request reviews very frequently to the point where it is unpleasant to use.

Another problem is when your weights inventory can’t be used to give a desired weight. In that case, the app simply rounds down?! I would far rather have it show an empty bar and say that desired sight is not available.

### 1/5 — Double check the math

*2020-09-28, version 1.6*

I’ve been using this a while and started noticing inconsistencies then I started double checking the math and sometimes it’s wrong! Definitely defeats the purpose if I have to do the math. There are better options!

### 1/5 — Not all advertised premium features exist!

*2020-09-18, version 1.6*

One of the advertised premium features actually exist. Main reason I bought was for the percent tables, and they are nowhere to be found. False advertising!

### 1/5 — Bad math

*2020-07-08, version 1.6*

It's unable to make 50 out of 35 and 15. The app calculates the only way to go is to drop weight and use a 45. I end up having to double check the math every time and half the time I get a weight closer to what I wanted to use. Glad I paid for premium to use the terrible % calculator.

### 1/5 — Can’t do actual math

*2020-04-14, version 1.6*

I want to press 125. I have 25s and 15s and it says I don’t have the correct plates. 45+50+30=125. It can only calculate using the largest plates and 5s, 2.5s. I’m using this a brain proof for when I’m tired but it’s too simple to actually work

### 1/5 — Cannot customize bar weight—- app is pointless for women

*2019-09-04, version 1.4*

I paid for the premium version expecting to be able to customize plates AND size of bar— it does not allow customization of bar (premium or not). It would be useful if it allowed you to customize the size of the bar.....technique bars (15#), women’s (35#), and men’s (45#)

### 1/5 — Zero stars, completely useless

*2019-06-22, version 1.4*

What is the point of having a free version?
It doesn’t do anything. All the features are locked until you buy the premium version. Completely useless!

### 1/5 — Free for men, ladies pay

*2018-06-25, version 1.2*

Free version is 45 lb bar, can’t get a 35lb bar unless you pay for premium...it it’s even available then. Wow, thanks a lot

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I love the app

*2025-03-14, version 1.6*

I been using this app for a while now and I am loving it no more guessing the weight.

### 5/5 — It’s tuff

*2025-02-20, version 1.6*

It’s so Tuff

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-11-27, version 1.6*

Does what is advertised. It’s great for thinking less at the gym, especially if you listen to podcasts or audiobooks like I do and my brain is already occupied thinking about important things — not how much weight I need to put on the bar.

### 5/5 — Must for serious lifter

*2022-09-16, version 1.6*

Has helped me stay focused on gains. I use this app almost every workout, I start by using it for my warm-ups and then for my lifts. I bought the premium upgrade which is really nice for converting to KG and seeing percentages of my working weight for warmups. I wish it had a dark mode, but it does what it is supposed to well.

### 5/5 — My life before rack math, my life after rack math

*2022-03-28, version 1.6*

I recommend this app to all of my lifting buddies. It’s so simple, so clean, make my lifting life better.

Thank you to the dev for a great product, at a very reasonable price

-Dennis

### 5/5 — Easy

*2021-12-14, version 1.6*

Love how you can enter in the weights you have and the app uses those to provide you with the easiest way to load the bar for that number. Less mental work while lifting when tired.

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2021-10-26, version 1.6*

This is a great product. It does everything you’d want it to. The feature that allows you to tell the app which weight plates you have is particularly helpful—that way it only suggests combinations you can actually put together what what’s on hand.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2021-08-26, version 1.6*

When I’m in the gym, it’s hard to think about the math. This app is so easy to use I can stay focused on my lifts.

### 5/5 — Great (one suggestion)

*2021-07-18, version 1.6*

Most importantly, this is an amazing app. The ability to calculate 5/3/1 percentages (using 90% of your 1RM for your training max) is very useful. One suggestion for a streamlined experience, as someone who calculates many weights at a time, instead of having a pop up that tells you how much weight has been rounded off (that you have to click away), implement that weight into the screen somewhere.

### 5/5 — Simple and clean

*2021-05-11, version 1.6*

Exactly what i was looking for! Love being able to enter multiple bars. Dark mode would be nice but whatever! Good job!
