## What is RackMath?

Stop doing plate math between sets.

Type the weight you want on the bar and Rack Math shows exactly which plates to load per side, based on your plates, your bar, and your gym. Build a list of
weights, and it tells you precisely what to ADD and REMOVE to get from each set to the next, so you spend your rest resting.

FREE, FOREVER
• Instant plate math for any weight, in lb or kg
• Your plate inventory: only weights you can actually make
• Bar diagrams that match what’s on the bar
• Build-on-bar: enter what’s loaded right now and work from there

RACK MATH COACH
Turn the calculator into a training partner. Try the Coach free for your first 10 workouts. No account. Nothing to cancel. Keep it with a subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase.
• A daily plan built around your lifts: Rack Math schedules what to train next and adapts as you recover
• Freshest: an extra generated session for off days. Lifts picked from whatever your recovery says is most rested, with the day’s plan built around them
• Cardio-aware recovery: with Apple Health, your runs, rides, and swims count toward what’s fresh, tracked as one total across activities, so swapping a walk for a run never reads as slacking
• Unlimited weights in your stack
• Warmup ramps in one tap: straight sets, top set + backoff, or 5/3/1
• Follow mode: the current set lights up, DONE advances, the next plate change is always right in front of you
• Lock Screen Live Activity: your rest countdown, next set, and exact plate change. Log your set, skip rest, or load the next exercise without
unlocking your phone
• Apple Watch: follow along from your wrist with displays for weight, per-side plates, a rest timer that taps you when it’s up, and one-tap DONE, synced from your iPhone
• Automatic progression: Rack Math suggests your next weights and reps
• Strength tracking: your estimated 1-rep max over time, and personal records
• Gyms: save plate setups for home, work, or travel and switch in two taps
• Workout timer with per-exercise split times
• Apple Health: finished workouts logged as strength training (optional)
• Workout history: what you lifted, how long it took, your top weight, and the ability to reload any past stack onto the bar
• Fewer-swaps optimizer: re-arranges the whole workout’s plate layouts to minimize how many plates you touch
• Save and reload your stacks

Choose your plan: Monthly, Annual (best value), or pay once for Lifetime. The plate calculator stays free either way. No ads.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Rack Math has no accounts and no ads. Your training lives on your device and, if you use iCloud, syncs privately through your own iCloud account; we never see it. We use one privacy-first analytics tool that collects no personal data and can’t identify you. Writing to Apple Health is entirely opt-in. ### 2/5 — Great app

*2026-07-08*

Great app to use but the purchase option doesn’t work after the 7 day trial. Please fix I would love to purchase the full app

### 3/5 — Best barbell racking app, if purchase would work…

*2026-04-25*

The features in this app supersede any others I’ve tried! The problem comes after the 7-day trial. The purchase functionality just doesn’t work. The button to unlock full access does nothing when clicked, so the app is unusable. Additionally, the contact form on the developer’s website doesn’t work. Please fix it, man! You’ve got a great app here!

### 5/5 — Cool app!

*2026-03-25*

Very cool app for workouts. Gives options for how much weight on the barbell with various plates, and instant calculations on which plates to remove/how many to add for targeted weights. Makes workouts easier.

Yes, you can customize your plate inventory to match your gym's equipment. This allows the app to find optimal plate combinations based on what you have available.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-08-02

Train what’s actually recovered.

• Freshest: a new generated session that answers “I’m here on an off day. What should I train?” Rack Math picks lifts from whatever your recovery says is most rested, without stealing from your next scheduled sessions, and builds the day’s plan around them.
• Cardio, seen whole: your total cardio load is now tracked across activities, so swapping a walk for a run or a swim reads as the trade it is, not as backing off. Familiar kinds of effort also count more fairly toward recovery than brand-new ones.
• Lock Screen: log your set right from the Live Activity: tap Done, then tap again to confirm, so a stray touch never logs a lift.
• Plus bug fixes and smarter training suggestions throughout.

The plate calculator stays free forever. The coaching features are part of Rack Math Coach, which is free for your first 10 workouts.

### 2.1.1 — 2026-08-01

Fixes and polish across the whole app, plus a few things you asked for.

- Fixed: on iPhones running iOS 18, tapping the Calculator/Train tabs did nothing
- Weights now use your region's number format (2,5 kg, not 2.5 kg)
- The Train tab has quick access to Settings and Insights
- Your strength charts are free. The PR and stall banner now takes you straight to them
- Deleting a workout now also removes its sets from your strength stats, so a mislogged session can't skew your numbers (it asks first)
- If a typed weight gets adjusted to what your plates can load, the app now says so
- Supersets: rest edits stay on their own station, added sets log under the right lift, and unnamed stations show correctly
- "Add a set" between exercises works again
- Apple Watch: weighted pull-ups and dips now read "Bodyweight + added weight" — no more phantom per-side plates
- Training reminders now actually ask permission, and fire at the right local time when you travel
- Fitbod import handles exercise names containing commas
- Smoother press-and-hold weight steppers
- Under the hood: workouts in progress survive app updates, long-term sync stays healthy, and there's a recovery path if your saved data can't be read

### 2.1 — 2026-07-25

Your workout, on your wrist and your Lock Screen.

• Apple Watch: follow your workout from your wrist: the current set, your
weight and per-side plates, a rest timer that taps you when it’s up, and
one-tap DONE to advance. Everything syncs from your iPhone automatically.
• Lock Screen: your rest countdown, next set, and the exact plate change now
live on the Lock Screen with Skip Rest and Next Exercise buttons, so you
never unlock your phone mid-set.
• Plus bug fixes and smarter training suggestions throughout.

The plate calculator stays free forever. The watch and Lock Screen
follow-alongs are part of Rack Math Coach, which is free for your first 10 workouts.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-14

Meet Rack Math Coach. The calculator is now a full training partner.

• Follow mode: go set by set with a live workout timer and split times
• Warmup ramps in one tap, with scheme presets (straight sets, top set + backoff, 5/3/1)
• Automatic progression and estimated-1RM strength tracking
• Workout history with exercise labels. Reload any past stack onto the bar
• Optionally save finished workouts to Apple Health

The plate calculator, your plate inventory, and gyms are free forever. The Coach is free for your first 10 workouts — after that, keep it with a Monthly or Annual plan, or a one-time Lifetime purchase.

### 1.1 — 2026-04-01

Now free to download with a 7-day trial.
