Between work and school, and trying to stay healthy, the meal planner has been a game changer in reducing stress in figuring out what I’m going to eat. If I could give the meals 5 stars, I would. Leaving 3 starts because I am not too much a fan of the workouts, but I am biased on that end. ### 1/5 — Thieves. *2024-10-20, version 8.1.0* If she chose to go her own way, then the app you have co-developed with her should have other material that was NOT created with her. Find your own, release her material to her, do business properly. You just cheated her out by getting a head start with her. Shame on you!! ### 1/5 — In total agreement with other angry GWJ supporters *2024-10-17* I can’t say much more than other reviewers already have, but can reiterate this is not a cool way to do business. I chose Grow with Jo because of her, the ability to do her program at home, and most important because of her faith in the Lord! I see this rebrand is phasing out Jo and any inkling of God, while replacing prayer and scripture references with “meditations & affirmations”. I will absolutely be figuring out how to request a refund and follow Jo wherever her program goes. No thanks “Radiance”. Update 10/16: the developers of the Radiance app replied to my request for a refund saying they will not issue a refund due to my subscription already being past 14 days. Aside from that nonsense they told me that I will have access to all of Jo’s content on the app until my subscription ends July 2025. Today I try to open the app to do one of Jo’s workouts and all of her content is completely gone and oddly enough a bunch of the other ridiculously content I don’t care to access is now showing locked?! So you took my money, lied about still being able to access Jo’s content, and now have basically locked me out of actually utilizing the app. “Companies” with business ethics like this won’t get far. This doesn’t mean that users are losing access to the app. Everyone who purchased access for Jo’s content will have access to her workouts until the end of their subscription period. A few weeks ago it unexpectedly transitioned to Radiance and a significant amount of Jo’s content was removed without notice. I reached out to Radiance to request a refund since the content I signed up for is no longer available, and they have refused as of right now. Do yourself a favor and download GWJ, Jo’s real app. Ran and controlled by her. However, once their contracts ended, “Radience” exhibited a lack of transparency and refused to issue refunds, prioritizing profits over customer satisfaction. This is deeply concerning. While a canned response may be issued, claiming Jo’s departure and the introduction of new content, several important questions remain: 1. Why was Jo’s name still used after her departure? 2. Why were refunds refused, and why was there no clear communication about the split? 3. What was the reason for the removal of maternal fitness videos without prior notice? Businesses that prioritize profits over the well-being of their customers contribute to many societal issues. Karma has a way of coming back around. I haven’t used it in a. While so opened it again to find that I can’t have a full screen workout?! It just has the name of the workout but doesn’t actually play in video form. I want to follow along a video, not just have a script to look at. Now this app has no point wasting space on my phone. I’ll find another fitness app to use. ### 1/5 — Not GWJ😒 *2025-01-14, version 8.2.2* I know the developers are going to give their same canned response of “Jo decided to go her own way…” but the only reason I renewed my app was because it was GWJ. 🐟Personally, I feel like I got catfished. I don’t appreciate the lack of full disclosure up front when renewing the app. It should’ve said more than a one-time “GWJ is now Radiance” pop-up on my phone. When asking me if I wanted to renew., it should’ve added a very hard to miss pop up window saying something to the effect of, “Jo is no longer associated with the new Radiance app rebrand” I feel it was very misleading since she was the face of everything. 🚩🚩🚩Additionally, as a potential new customer, a red flag for me would be if they burned their bridges with Jo, who built their app, how much do they really care about customer satisfaction? The reviews mention they won’t refund the purchase after 14 day renewal period, but this should not have included everyone who was with the developers’ app while it was still using Jo’s brand. New customers have a 14 day trial period- that’s awesome. The developers should’ve given Jo-based customers the respect of refunding their money if the reach out to customer service for the whole first year. So many people renew their apps and services without ever using them just so they have them available when they’re ready. It’s not unrealistic to believe that someone might go 8 months without even opening the app, only to be met with the noticeable absence of their reason for purchase. If this is how they handle the people who built their success, how are they going to handle future issues that arise from their new business brand?🚩 ✅All the Jo stuff aside (since I’ve already paid for another year), the new app, Radiance, is: - nice and clean, albeit a bit bland -diverse representation of women -easy to use -economically priced -looks professional -Seems like a lot of programs to choose from (haven’t done a deep dive) -awards, trophies, things to encourage engagement ❌I don’t like: -meal plan changes -the women/coaches- none really shine, imo -(in the event you really prefer one coach over another, I don’t think you can do a search for individual coaches, as in “show me content only from ‘…’ but I’m not 100%) -bland, sterile, no personality to set it apart from other fitness apps I’ve used -(specifically relating to last remnant of Jo’s presence within the app) from what I’ve seen, it’s been difficult to find Jo’s remaining workouts using the search bar; they don’t pop up under program searches either. I have to navigate to the “demand” tab and scroll down some to find a few limited selections. ‼️⚠️I think a lot of us customers who are displeased with the quiet transition away from Jo, would’ve been easily satisfied by giving her workouts more presence with a “transition year”. The developers could’ve agreed to work with her in a way that still promoted her in her own tab, if not the front page, with a lot more of her content, but made it very clear that they would completely part ways after a full year of transition. Would they have had to pay her more for this? Probably. Would she have had to take a bit of loss? Maybe. But it would’ve demonstrated the developer’s (and Jo’s) priority and commitment to keeping their customers happy and satisfied through THEIR separation. Instead, we got a badly handled divorce where the parents refuse to co-parent, and it’s the children who have to pay the price. 💬 Overall, if you’re looking for Jo, individual personality (aka the magic that makes an app stand out from its peers), I wouldn’t recommend this app. I will not be renewing as I feel like I get more out of other comparable apps that are more established (and take better care of their founding customers to whom they owe their initial success). But if you are just looking for a new or a first fitness app to try, Radiance offers a lot of material and a competitive price. Even if you don’t like them, we all spend a little bit (or a lot) of money on multiple programs until we find the one that’s just right for us. The low price is worth the risk to see if it’s a good fit for you. ### 1/5 — Not the same w/out Jo *2025-01-01, version 8.2.2* This app has no affiliation Jo or Growwithjo and it shows. They tried to take what she did and rebrand but God will always prevail. This app is not what it used to be. I will be head to the new growwithjo home. SCAMMERS *2024-12-31* To the hijackers who manipulated Jo, Don’t bother responding to my comment. This is not for y’all. This is to keep the truth at the TOP of the comments. This app is no longer associated with Jo, and although they have “rebranded” as Radiance, it doesn’t take away that they practiced manipulative and shiesty business ethics. Furthermore, they will say that everything was abided by “a contract”. As though contracts don’t allow people to “teeter” in ethics and do shiesty stuff to good people in the name of “signed contracts”. Jo built this app in TRUST. The app developers may have invested money, but we all know NO ONE bought this app for any other reason than JO herself. Forcing Jo to “go another way” and then continuing to use her videos until recently because the “contract allowed you to” truly reveals the nature of the people currently running this app. Furthermore they quickly removed all faith based content, further revealing their nasty and money motivated heart posture. They refunded me but seems like they’re stealing info from somewhere else. I asked for proof of original sign up they just refunded me instead of showing me proof. ### 1/5 — Ethics! *2024-11-10, version 8.2.0* I already wanted to end my subscription because it was annoying that I couldn’t screen share on my TV (imagine trying to workout looking just at phone screen lol!) but using Jo’s name when she’s no longer involved is a new low. Exercises are on point! Devotions, scriptures, Bible readings, and meditations to start and end your day (please say there will be more added regularly, and recipes. It looks like Jo’s videos are being phased out (I hope I’m wrong, but that’s the vibe I’m getting.). The BEST workout app ever!!! *2024-05-18* This is the best workout app I’ve come across in a while. I typically don’t buy workout subscriptions, but I thought why not give it a chance? I’m so glad I did! The way my body has toned and the way I’ve become more flexible is amazing. Staying consistent is hard, but worth it in the end. The ONLY complaint I have is that my Live and On-demand workouts don’t connect to my health app on my phone nor is it counted as a workout on the app. For example, Thursday before I worked out it showed I had 157 workouts completed. I decided to do a live and on-demand workout and when completed it still showed only 157 workouts completed. The health app on my phone even showed I didn’t work out that day. None of this happens with the programmed workouts or the single workouts. If you guys have any suggestions or can help that would be great! Thank you in advance! I love the menu so far, it’s not too difficult and is quite tasty. What attracted me to the workouts were the ease of completing them, and the timer which helps me know that I am getting it done! I also use the meditation feature because I am currently in a weekly meditation class & this reminds me to do it. I love the sleep and spiritual features too. I am motivated by Jo’s positive words too, it keeps me on track. I know I can reach my weight loss goal through this program, I’m already seeing good results in just a week. I love to strength train and use dumbbells and there are so many different workouts that offer this style of training amongst many others which help keep it interesting. Lots of variety. With that said, I do wish there was option to save your favorite workouts (past live, single and program ones alike). I also wish you had the option to stop and restart a program whenever you want to instead of the automatic save setting it’s on now. More Pilates forward workouts would be awesome too. These are very minor cons but other than that, it’s an extremely affordable app that’s completely worth it. I’m a mother of 2 who works from home. The pregnancy and post pregnancy programs are wonderful. I absolutely love the inclusion for us mothers. This app & all the trainers are by far one of my favorites to use.
