### 4/5 — Love the concept

*2021-01-03*

I really love the idea of this game, but I’m struggling to get the helicopters to move where or when I want them. The attack helicopters have been getting lower and lower on fuel and have been out of munitions for awhile, but I cannot get them to retreat or return to base! Plus I have to occasionally restart the game when no units will respond to report commands.

### 4/5 — It has some bugs sorry

*2020-12-04*

This games is super good but there are some problems when you go quick battle it does not show the enemy that are right in your face I can play if I can’t know we’re my enemy’s are and the units when I move them they don’t even move and when they do it so slow and when I speed up time nothing works and the evac helicopter when i tried to collect theWounded it did not allow me and this would be five stars but the bugs are super annoying

*2020-10-02*

### 4/5 — sehr sehr gute und stimmungsvolle Simulation

*2020-09-09*

### 5/5 — Yeah this game is awesome

*2020-08-22*

I was commanding a unit to defend a hilltop. There was no escape, they had to defend it until the last man. It got to a point where over 500 enemies were almost on top of my guys. Had to call in artillery and napalm. After about 30 minutes of playing the game, I had to put my own men at risk to beat the enemy. I heard the pilot say that he had dropped the napalm, and then the radio from the infantry went silent. 10/10 emotional rollercoaster

### 5/5 — For mature war gamers only

*2020-08-21*

First of all you DO NOT have to use your own voice to command your troops or control the game. The game is fully playable with the game doing the conversations for multiple units and the commander in the game. The first review which gave the game one star was poorly written. I wasn’t bored at all playing Radio Commander. After reading the first 1 star review I decided to do some research. On Steam it’s got over 700 plus reviews and the game is rated: Very Positive. Yes there is mature language so what? It’s no different that any movie that’s available today on tv. You are commanding your troops from back at your base. You move little token(s) on a map directing them where you want them to go, but you don’t actually make them go there. Your troops get to where you ask them to go the best way they can. You can speed up the clock but remember your troops will make it to were they are going in due time. Your units and you converse back and forth throughout each mission as you take on various objectives. I think the voices overs used are well done and I didn’t have a problem with them. You’ll send your troops on various missions and try to keep them alive with your decisions. Like real life the wrong decision can and will cost lives. Are you prepared to live with your choices? It’s a strategy game it’s not speed chess. You have to imagine that your missions are playing out over time. All you can try to do is what you’ve been assigned to do with the men under your command. War can be harsh, and lives are lost with wrong decisions. Radio Commander puts you back at your base as you direct your men from afar. Can you live with the outcome? The tutorial could have been a little more intuitive, but I figured everything out before the first mission was even half way done. A double tap here or a swipe there is all you need. Very fun.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-08-20*

The game is one of a kind. The feeling of dread when you napalm your own men, or when The radio goes silent and there no response. Truly for the history buffs.

### 4/5 — Entertaining, novel, immersive

*2020-08-20*

I love games like this. The premise is novel, the execution is well designed, UI is well designed. Very few “gamey” features, quite a lot of focus on making you feel like you are indeed a commander. Some minor bugs, a few rough edges that need polishing but nothing game breaking. If you think you might like it, you probably will.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Controls are awful

*2025-06-06*

There is little to no thought put into the UI when they port this game from PC to iOS. The game is nice on PC but unenjoyable on my iPad. If you really wanna play this game, get it on your PC instead, not here.

*2024-10-12*

### 3/5 — Good idea poorly executed

*2022-05-24*

Spent more time battling clunky interface and iffy mission scripting than Victor Charlie. Radio chatter is robotic and repetitive, which is unfortunate for a game called Radio Commander.

### 3/5 — Some interface changes are needed.

*2020-12-10*

First of all, this is an excellent new concept of a game.

Next, the interface needs to be made separate from the map to the black command/report options at the bottom of the screen because when I touch the bottom interface I can see the X on the map being moved.
These need to be made separate.
When I touch the map then I should be touching the map.
When I touch the black command screens below then I should only be touching those screens.

Then, and this is VERY annoying, whenever I'm moving my unit marker on the map and it takes me a few moments to place it properly my keyboard pops up and the ability to rename the unit is activated.
This REALLY needs to change because that stops everything dead when I'm trying to just keep track of where on the map my units are.

Not sure when's the last time there was an update but this game needs one ASAP.
It's very close to being a 5 star game.

### 3/5 — Chris

Saw the review and realised this was a fairly new game so gave it a chance considering there’s not many games or any like it and really like how the mechanics of the game present it self.

I was abit underwhelmed to begin with, its got a good story line to it but it seems unfortunate that it was the games aim and not the actual game play itself. Like the previous review mentioned the grid references are hard to distinguish, the voice over from the controller that the player plays is often annoying and I opted to switch that off. The idea is such an amazing concept, but not gone really to plan by my opinion.

Often as the controller in the control room you get sucked in to the what ifs and what is the best options which the game does deliver on, but the actual mechanics is abit sloppy. It really is a very innovative idea that however does need some more work to it.

The mode that doesn’t follow the campaign/story is pretty useless and unimpressive which is a shame because after the campaign mode is completed the game is pretty non existing.

None the less is it wourth the money, I would say yes. The time spent on it on all 9 missions was enjoyable yet frustrating, a few hours spent on it and actually did enjoy it.

Overall I think the developers need to go back to the drawing board on this one, the idea is so unique it would be such a shame to leave it how it is.

### 3/5 — Intéressant mais ...

*2020-09-21*

### 3/5 — Not bad but could improve

*2020-08-16*

I was really excited about this coming out on iOS but was a tad disappointed once downloaded. The game could do with tutorial to ease new players in and better graphics to see grid references on the map, numbers just become blurred when you enlarge the screen.
Once those are sorted this could end up being a great game

### 5/5 — Realistic And Captivating

*2025-01-16*

It’s unfortunate this game isn’t more popular, but it seems to have a community on PC.

I like how at the end during replays, you can see the actual positions of your troops. After the tutorial, it seemed kind of weird how the VC and Bravo were right on each other, but they’re in a dense jungle and the shown positions probably aren’t 100% accurate still.

About to play Level 2 and I really enjoy the work and effort you guys have put into this game. From having small talk with your squads to anxiously waiting for a status report, this game perfectly captures communication on and off the battlefield. Will you only be able to secure a position and injured/KIA or only hope to fend off the VC?

*2024-07-21*

### 5/5 — Why it didn’t support other languages?

*2023-05-02*

English is not my first language. Can you add more languages to the game?

### 5/5 — Good game

*2023-04-17*

It was very interesting and realistic and as well it was very fun but did take a bit to get the hang of it

### 5/5 — Good game

*2023-03-17*

This is a very good game every choice matters big and small it will change the out come of the game but remember this is supposed to be a simulation and war is never fair I’m very glad this game was made

My grand father actually served in the 82 airborne division 173 air cav in Vietnam the few story’s he was willing to share make the events in the game pale in comparison

Here’s something you should do thank a veteran for their Service

All the ww2 vets are almost gone then it will be the Korean vets turn then the Vietnam vets and so on
You’ll never get another chance to I promise you that

### 5/5 — 5 Star Game

*2021-12-31*

The most realistic military game out there, if you think Call of Duty is a realistic military game then you’re dead wrong. In Call of Duty you can take 10 shots like it’s nothing, in Radio Commander you sit in a chair operating the radio - commanding your troops. It’s perfect, it’s the best military - strategy game out there.
I was originally going to purchase this on PC until I realized it’s out in mobile, now it’s the only game I have on my phone, it’s perfect!

### 5/5 — Level six is super hard

*2021-11-25*

Great game, wish there was a thing where you could change the difficulty

### 5/5 — Great

*2021-05-26*

Great game but can you please add more levels as I have finished all missions and loved it so much that there needs to be more levels please

### 5/5 — Genial

*2020-12-05*

Hab es schon am PC gespielt. Super Spiel soweit.
