Even some other 4$ applications have ILS approaches! It would be great to see the LOC back course concepts and so on.. I hope you guys read the reviews.. It sure beats paying $50 an hour for a simulator or more than that to actually fly, but still does the trick of making your brain think. As a tip, you can zoom out all the way if you want to simulate partial panel (not seeing the nice glass moving map). The design is excellent and very well thought out. My only gripe that it doesn't simulate an HSI. The UI is not self-explanatory, there is no context sensitive help, and the only thing on youtube is a marketing piece. I don't have 9 years to read the doc from beginning to end. Could be so much more if navaids were customizable to practice and learn local freqs, ports and procs ### 4/5 — The best, BUT... *2020-06-20* Early days yet, and this is quite a complicated interface, so first I shall have to persuade my students that it’s worth investing the time to learn it. First impressions, it has a good range of instrument panels and is the only app I’ve found that properly simulates an HSI. It’s also one of only two apps that I’ve found that simulates an RBI. I’m disappointed that the DME only shows decimals below 10 nm; this is unrealistic, makes calculating leading a turn beyond that distance difficult at low ground speeds, and makes simulating flying a 10nm DME arc impossible, something I had wanted to demonstrate to a student before flying it. UPDATE. Within a week of posting this review I had a response from the developer saying decimal DME up to 99.9 nm was being prepared this month along with other upgrades. Excellent customer support, and I look forward to the update. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your review. This update has now been released (apologies for delay), which provides decimal DME support out to 99.9 nautical miles plus iOS14 compatibility changes. It’s an excellent tool for practice and teaching, or just geeking out on your non-flying days if you’re a dork like me. It pairs best with ForeFlight to make a brilliant sandbox for the bored pilot. I recently updated and discovered to my delight that it now provides data for the whole USA to purchase within the app, which I bought immediately. I am now able fly routes I am actually familiar, with as well as allowing me to practice some that I'm not. I can see this being a huge benefit for anyone training or just wanting to learn in their own backyard. This app just gets better with each version, and I'm looking forward to the next updates. This helped me 100% in learning air nav. Being new, I had to look up other resources to help explain some terms. After better educating myself I found this to be an Excellent sim to learn and practice air navigation using VOR/ADF/DME/HSI. VERY GOOD JOB TO THE DEVELOPERS! Though be ware, you may have to look up other sources depending on your experience level. Now having it available on iPad/iPhone is even more a joy. Especially to emphasize a aircrafts position in relation to Navigation Aids. Very good tool to teach students as well to give them a tool to train there ability to fly an airplane with the support of instrument, rather having them guessing where they might be or where to go next. I suggest only one thing as improvement, that would be to increase the timer speed up to 4 factors rather having only one. To ease the way through interpreting the instruments I suggest the iBook written by Wilhelm Thaller "Never get lost".
