Its the time they start looking for drivers so you need to book 15 to 20 mins before you want car to arrive. I made this booking at about 1pm. The booking was confirmed. Then I got a phone call from them at 2.58pm saying they couldn’t get a big enough taxi and would have to send 2 cars at double the cost. The cars weren’t on their way and I’d have to wait. We had a train to catch for a meal booked so waiting was not an option. Thanks to Radio Taxis the train was missed, the meal cancelled and my son who had driven over from Brighton made to have a wasted journey. Why confirm the booking at 1pm? Why wait until 2 minutes before the pickup time to phone to say they can’t fulfil the booking? Avoid this company at all costs and get an Uber! ### 1/5 — Abysmal *2021-10-19, version 33.4.18* Disgusting service. Let down three times by this company who quote their pickup times as approximate - sticking to this definition after 45 minutes of waiting. Southampton has Uber. I know it isn’t much but why is there a fee for signing up to the service? I would like that money back as I still haven’t booked a taxi and now I won’t bother. I’ll stick to Uber ### 2/5 — An unreliable taxi company *2019-08-26, version 32.1.1* After booking my first booking which was made 18 hours in advance, they called and told me 10 minutes after the pick up time that they weren't going to make it. ### 2/5 — Poor maps. *2018-09-22, version 12.21.1* Unfortunately this app doesn’t recognise my road and leaving instructions on notes is useless. I have to walk to next road. ### 2/5 — Splash Screen 😡😡😡 *2018-04-30, version 12.19.1* Please please please get rid of the splash screen that appears every. single. time. that I switch between this app and another. It’s so annoying, surely you can background the app without needing to reload the entire thing when it becomes active again. From a customer service perspective, I have come across 3 different but equally dodgy drivers. One who pretended the app wasn’t accepting card payments by deliberately trying to click “cancel” instead of activating the payment. The other who’s opening line was “we don’t like you paying by card. We like the cash.” And the last one who couldn’t find the brake pedal, nearly went up the back of someone several times. They say Uber is dodgy, but I’m not entirely sure that normal taxi companies are much better based on this experience... ### 1/5 — Horiffic *2017-08-25, version 12.4* After using the app it does not give correct address. Then when you call up to say the driver has passed you and left (despite waving at him) you end up speaking to a mouthy woman. Who thinks it's ok to speak to you like crap ### 1/5 — Set up my card - it got blocked for fraudulent activity *2017-07-14, version 12.4* Set up my card to use as I didn't have any cash on me - got declined and it put a block on my card. Not impressed. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lousy app, great company *2026-06-01, version 36.18.0* Terrible app, which insisted I was located at the house next door. I corrected this and attempted to book a taxi to the airport, only to be charged £8 for a pickup from next door to the house I was staying in! I was able to cancel it and rang to make a booking, where I was asked again if I was at this incorrect address! Thankfully the staff on the phone and the drivers are more competent, but the company is let down by the app they use. ### 1/5 — Dreadful App *2025-10-22, version 36.17.0* Awful interface. Orders a taxi straightaway, cancel Immediately (like within a second) and you’re still charged. ### 1/5 — Drivers don’t show up *2025-08-02* First time I used it, it was fine. But next two times driver claimed they were on way and their car never moved. Can’t use it without logging in or signing up so doesn’t work anymore ### 1/5 — The App Upgrade is a Disaster *2024-02-25, version 35.0.1* What was once an efficient service has now collapsed into an unusable mess. The app no longer works and the staff you speak to to book over the phone instead are uninterested in the problem. Sort it out please. ### 1/5 — Avoid *2023-11-16, version 34.3.27* Until they fix their system avoid Radio Taxis (and WestQuay cars). They take your pre-booking without confirming a driver is available. Then their system looks for a driver at the time you asked for them to arrive. This ridiculous pre-booking system made me miss my train. They have gone from the best taxi service in Southampton to the worst with this system in place. Until they fix it don’t bother. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2023-08-21, version 34.2.23* I cannot register. The validation codes don’t work via the app and via the website too. ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t allow to book a ride using Apple Pay *2023-08-19, version 34.2.23* So I booked an Uber don’t offer an option if you won’t accept it. ### 1/5 — Rubbish App *2023-07-22, version 34.2.23* Tried several times yesterday to book a taxi via the app. Absolute waste of time,lucky if it had worked in the last 6months or so. Deleted it several time’s & reinstalled it. Finally got an Uber but they sent the job to Radio Taxis & it was £3 cheaper than my original Radio Taxi quote. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2023-03-28, version 34.2.23* Do not Book online. They phone you hours later to go through all the details. You should just phone in the first place. Also app bookings fixed fee whereas if just phone for taxi you will be charged actual fare.
