### 3/5 — What a scam!

*2026-06-16, version 487.19.0*

So you get the first year for 99p. THEN subscription goes up to £34.99. You cancel subscription and within 5 minutes get an offer to renew for £0.99!! How many ppl get caught out paying the full amount?! Very sharp practice. I won’t renew on principle now.

### 3/5 — Confusing

*2026-04-11*

I had hoped this would provide me with a simple way of listing programmes I fancy watching, particularly those I can’t record on Sky+.
The way to do this is not particularly straightforward and there is little help on line.
The only way seems to be to look in the radio times for recommendations and log them on the app using “search”.
Time consuming!

**Developer response:** If you save them to your Watchlist on the website, then the same Watchlist appears on the app.

### 4/5 — Update: app now successfully linked back to my account.

*2026-03-01*

UPDATE: The developer’s suggestion to go to the app and log out didn’t make much sense, as the problem was essentially being unable to log in. Instead I deleted the app again, restarted my phone and reinstalled the app. This time, when I launched the app it had relinked automatically to my account and normal operation was restored.
I’m glad this bug has been resolved but still feel the initial customer support was unhelpful.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Until a few weeks ago, this app was successfully linked to my RT print subscription and was particularly useful as the print edition frequently was lost or delayed in the post. But since a few weeks ago I can no longer access the app contents.
My attempts to resolve this with the app support have been a complete waste of time. After several attempts via the various channels offered I eventually received an email that explained how to relink the account, even though I had explained that I had repeatedly tried exactly that process. I replied to that email and since then heard nothing more.
I hoped that the latest update might have fixed the problem, but no.
Reading other reviews suggests that this is common problem, so please sort this out soon RT, and don’t just ignore your subscribers.

**Developer response:** Effo H, Thank you for your comments and we’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced accessing the app. We completely understand how frustrating this must be.
We released a fix for this earlier this week which we hope has resolved the access issues some subscribers were experiencing.
To restore access, please go to Account in the app, log out of your account, and then log back in again. This should refresh your subscription link and reinstate full access to your content.
If you continue to experience any problems after logging out and back in, please let us know and we’ll be happy to investigate further.

### 3/5 — Ironically No Obvious Radio Times

*2026-02-11*

I love the radio times but there are some critical thing a lacking on this app version. Would suggest these enhancements to improve r user experience: Radio programme times a list of radio channels as you do on tv. Recommended radio. Programmes and shows. Adapt to personas / personalisation - I have kids yet no easy way of finding kids programmes or films on day to day. No way of shortlisting the channels you are interested in, eg. Just bbc1,2,3,4,5, itv, c4 and cbeebies. Instead I have to scroll all the way through to these channels to check what is on. If these feature already exist then it should be easier to find! Happy to be a guinea pig and help provide feedback to improve end user experience! I want this to work but currently it’s not. It’s basically the mag in an app and the app should offer things the mag cannot.

**Developer response:** anitamoleskin, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such detailed and thoughtful feedback, we really appreciate it and we know how important it is to make browsing quick and intuitive, especially for busy households.

Just to mention, we do usually feature a radio programme in our Daily Picks section each day, but we appreciate that broader radio discovery and clearer navigation would make this much more useful and visible. Radio doesn't lend itself in the way that TV and Streaming needs.

Our app team is always looking at ways to enhance the experience and make it go beyond what the magazine can offer. Feedback like yours plays a big part in shaping future improvements.

We’re really grateful for your offer to help test and provide feedback, it’s great to hear how much you want the app to succeed. Please do keep sharing your thoughts with us as we continue to evolve the app.

### 4/5 — No BBC reminders?

*2026-02-05, version 432.6.0*

I didn’t know this app existed. Really glad to find somewhere I can set reminders for across my streaming services but there doesn’t appear to be any way to set reminders for BBC?
Also, editors top picks but no way to see a list of what’s on the app? Have to search for a programme I already know about to add it - can’t find something new by scrolling through the listings

### 3/5 — Could be so much more

*2026-01-10*

I guess this app is useful if you want a guide to the day’s TV, or place to save a watch list, but I don’t think it’s worth the full subscription price. As I mainly watch TV on streaming and catch up services that have a watchlist, that’s of little value to me. From the marketing I was expecting to be able to find recommendations based on my preferences, but the categories/genras of recommendations are very limited, with only a small number of shows in each category. They do list recommendations by streaming service, but not all services are included and it’s not possible to get more tailored recommendations, so again the recommendations I’m interested in are limited. The ability to search for more tailored recommendations would be welcome, or if it would suggest shows based on a watchlist or my show ratings, that might be worth the full annual subscription, but as it is I’m glad I have only paid 99p for a year.

**Developer response:** ejh1818, thank you for your feedback and I am sorry it is not to your liking. We dont do our guide using algorithms as that is what Streaming services do. Our Top Ten Daily picks soon add up to a comprehensive selection of programmes and series to watch. We will note your comments with our app team.

### 1/5 — RadioTimes

*2026-01-06, version 422.12.1*

Too expensive, don’t mind the .99p but £35 a year NOT A CHANCE.

### 3/5 — Missing features? - a free trial would be useful

*2026-01-02*

Behind-the-scenes ‘Shaun the Sheep’ and ‘Marvellous Miniature Workshop’ features are prominently advertised as exclusive to this App in the current Radio Times but there doesn’t appear to be a link to them. If there is it’s well hidden but there are plenty of calls to action to subscribe. I’m guessing these special features are for subscribers only? I’ve got far too many subscriptions already so a short free trial of the full app would be useful please.

**Developer response:** WildYorkshire, There is now a 7-day trial period available.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t like me

*2026-01-01, version 422.5.0*

Used my email and password from my website account to login. Tells me that my email or password are not recognised. Tried to continue with google, selected that and it went straight back to the login page telling me my email is incorrect.
Be grateful if someone can sort this out for me. Cheers

### 2/5 — Useless

*2025-12-26*

Unable to scan for future programs - only shows what is on now. Want to love this app but needs lots of improvements

**Developer response:** khliguyviuyoi, You can view listings for the next 7 days - just tap on the channel name and you will see that channels full schedule.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2025-12-21*

I was hoping that this app could replace me going through the RadioTimes magazine with a highlighter. Sadly this is not the case – the app does not summarise highlights for the two weeks festive period, it is not easy to navigate, and even when I found something to watch in the magazine, it could not be located in the app using the search function. This could have been such a powerful and useful app if it had been designed well.

**Developer response:** Fififerrari1, thank you for your feedback and I will note your comments with our app team. All programmes should be available to search so please let us know if you come across a programme that is not showing up.

### 1/5 — Clunky

*2025-12-17, version 422.5.0*

I downloaded this so that I can plan what to watch over Christmas. There are lots of specials on. But you can’t set reminders for these, only for the entire series. David Attenborough is doing a Wild London special on New Year’s Day. If you search for this in the app it can’t find it. It is not even worth the 99p that you have to pay to try it. It is truly a dreadful app.

### 4/5 — Amazing so far!

*2025-12-15*

The app is very useful and I really enjoy the features that allow you to see where to watch things! The new trailers update is great too, really saves time when I’m looking for something to watch. However in a few areas it needs more improvement. Would love to see a genre search added, as well as maybe some personalised recommendations of what to watch!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your kind comments and we’re really glad you’re enjoying the app, especially the “where to watch” feature and the new trailers update — great to hear it’s saving you time. We really appreciate the feedback as well. We've avoided algorithms in the past as that's what most streaming services do and we hope our recommendations give a broader picture .Suggestions like yours help shape what we build next. Keep an eye out for future updates, as we’ve got more features and enhancements on the way and we've introduced regional listing and programme time reminders just this week.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts and for using the app!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t do TV listings other than what’s on right now

*2025-12-14, version 422.5.0*

If you want to see what’s on TV on a particular day at a particular time which is literally all a TV listings app needs to do the RT app doesn’t allow this. As far as I can tell you can only see what’s on TV right now, or at the same time on another day. Which makes it utterly useless to me. If I’d paid £34.99 for a year’s subscription I’d feel hugely ripped off. I just want to see what’s on for the rest of the evening on the main channels and it’s not possible!

### 1/5 — poor

*2025-12-13, version 422.5.0*

i just want an app that shows me every film that's on for the week ahead.

### 1/5 — Sneaky

*2025-12-12*

I just downloaded this to help me plan our watching over the Christmas period. First thing I was asked was to set up an account and log in. After looking through the screens that showed me what I could do I duly logged in. The next screen then asked me to subscribe! I know you can’t get much for free these days but I thought it a bit sneaky that I wasn’t told there would be a charge to use the app until after I had given my personal details. Now deleted.

**Developer response:** thank you for your comments and I am sorry that you did not realise it is a paid for app (though is currently 99p for a year through radiotimes.com/subscribe.

### 3/5 — Watchlist isn’t as featured as it seems

*2025-12-10, version 417.2.0*

You can add to a watchlist but you can’t actually track shows and what episodes you have watched etc. JustWatch is miles better. Also doesn’t have all services on where to watch.

### 1/5 — Search not working

*2025-11-21, version 411.14.0*

This app used to be reasonable to use but the search function has stopped working so it is now pointless!

### 4/5 — Love it, except for the search and watchlist function, which no longer works.

*2025-11-19*

I embraced the RT app when I first got it and found it a great tool to keep abreast of new items and to create a watchlist of items I wanted to see. However the search & watchlist has creased to work. I’ve written to RT to complain about this, but have received no reply. This would seem a simple feature to fix, but am disappointed to find not only can you not be bothered to answer my complaint, but months later you still haven’t fixed a major feature of the RT app. Please do something, and reinstate a functioning Watchlist?

**Developer response:** Can you please email feedback@radiotimes.com and let us know as I am sorry you have been having any problems with your Watchlist and search. We are not aware of any problems across the app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Atrocious - Impossible to navigate

*2026-05-29*

RT helpfully email articles that they think you might like to read, and sometimes they’re right so you open the article in a browser. But wait, even though you’re a paid subscriber and are signed in the article stays hidden behind a firewall and you’re directed to open the app to read it there instead. Irritating, but fine. But then just try finding the article in the app, completely awful design with no apparent coherent navigation or index system. Will not be renewing my subscription.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about your experience. Subscribers should have a much smoother journey between our emails, website and app, so we understand how frustrating this must have been and we have passed your feedback about navigation on to our app team.

### 1/5 — Honestly, I don’t get it!

*2026-05-02, version 476.2.1*

I paid the 99p promo. Nothing to lose. Certainly wouldn’t pay 99p again and as for £35!!!! I’m not sure what it offers apart from editors picks that you can add to a watchlist and TV listings from which you can do the same. Sorry Radio Times, but it’s not worth the 99p! If it offered full listings of what’s on all streaming services, it would make more sense. Then it becomes a useful one stop place to collate what I want to watch.

### 1/5 — No tv listings

*2026-04-15, version 473.4.0*

Useless if you want to see what’s on TV. You have the ability to check what’s on TV ‘tonight’ but it only shows one programme. Nothing before or after that programme.

### 1/5 — Pointless

*2026-02-28, version 444.2.0*

What is the point of this app? Now the equivalent of bloatware. Can’t even see a basic TV guide without hading over money.

### 1/5 — Can’t get on it!

*2026-02-21, version 444.2.0*

It was fine until I renewed my subscription, now it’s saying my subscriber number has been taken. No one is answering my emails, person on the phone no help at all.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2026-02-05, version 432.6.0*

This app is a waste of money. Free apps in App Store have more information and are easier to use.

### 1/5 — Impossible to access app!

*2026-01-26*

Useless! I was sent an email inviting me to install and use the Radio times app as I am a print issue subscriber. Installed app but when entering my subscription number and name the message - ‘subscriber number in use by another user’ constantly appears. I tried calling their helpline but their advice didn’t help, the next time I was given extremely complicated advice to use their website to change settings and passwords which was quite frankly impossible to follow. I tried to delete and reinstall their app, but the same problem. Two emails sent have been ignored/no reply made. This company isn’t really Radio Times but a company going by the name of ‘immediate media’ who are located in South Africa, so despite calling Radio Times in London, they couldn’t help. After having repeated missing issues with the delivery of my print edition, I’m now going to cancel my subscription. So sad after 25 years with no problems, but a change within their company has caused serious problems. Very disappointing.

**Developer response:** groovejet747, We are sorry that you have had any problems in accessing the app. You might want to try again as we have recently fixed the problem that was causing the subscription access to the app. Can you please email feedback@radiotimes.com and detail the problem if you are still experiencing problems.

### 1/5 — Utterly useless

*2026-01-25, version v422.15.0*

There’s no listing grid so you know what’s on now and at 9pm, but nothing in between. Reading the reviews they say it’s on its way, but that was from a year ago. Save your money!!!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-01-23, version v422.15.0*

It won’t recognise my subscriber number. Complete waste of money.

### 1/5 — poor

*2026-01-21, version v422.15.0*

i just want an app that shows me every film that's on for the week ahead. Edit: there’s a free tv film website that lists every film showing on freeview and sky so they seem to be able to do it with no issues. And for free

### 5/5 — Speak screen options

*2025-06-16, version 381.3.0*

For subscribers with low visibility, a speak screen option would be excellent.

### 5/5 — Good

*2025-05-22, version 376.14.1*

Well designed and informative with lots of great editorial content. Would love it if the shows also showed the IMDB rating as part of the information details. I have to switch apps to IMDB to check.

### 5/5 — At last

*2024-10-09*

Just what I’ve been waiting for. Great for looking up films and box sets and finding out what streaming platform they are currently showing on- without having go onto each platform separately

**Developer response:** Hi Shona, Thank you for your feedback! We're delighted you're enjoying the App. The Radio Times team

### 5/5 — Great app!
